Overview
Villa Travicello is an exquisitely restored eighteenth-century Tuscan villa, ornately preserved with abundant traditional charm as well as glamorous touches of modern day luxury, within its own private, gated estate.
Set behind a wrought iron entrance, with original stone courtyards and a series of terracotta tiled outhouses, this sumptuous home casts an impressive silhouette, standing regally within its own impeccably maintained estate with private pool.
There are a series of cobbled courtyards, wonderful verdant lawns and terraces with a brick-built barbecue and a dining veranda for sumptuous al fresco meals. When illuminated at night, the glistening pool and swaying, fragrant pine trees are a majestic sight, offset by immaculately maintained lawns framed by flowering plants. Sitting in the bubbling jacuzzi with a cocktail facing panoramic views of the Tuscan hills, fragrant with olive groves, is about as good as it gets!
The interiors at Villa Travicello offer abundant rustic charm, with large original sixteenth-century fireplaces, decorative wrought-iron stair rails, original windows and exposed timber beams. Interspersed with the traditional tone are touches of indulgent glamour: Turkish bath with aromotherapy, state of the art walk-in showers, hotel-grade cotton bed linen.
The living spaces are well proportioned and dripping with ornate features and relaxed luxury; pinstriped silk upholstery, antique furnishings and gorgeous pistachio toned dresser filled with porcelain and crystal to name a few!
The sense of preserved history is recurrent throughout this home; the original doors in place, frescoes on the walls, and a wonderful, roomy farmhouse style eat-in kitchen with locally painted tiles.
This sumptuous home can accommodate up to eight guests across four bedrooms. Lavishly adorned, the interiors have regal and elegant accents of crimson, oil paintings, antique candle holders and abundant character. The bedrooms offer sedate refinement, away from the bustle of the crowds, with views across the impeccably manicured lawns and hills beyond.
Guests can enjoy all the privacy and seclusion of a private home along with five-star hotel grade services such as a personal chef who can cater to an array of menus. Additional services include private wine tasting and Italian cooking lessons.
Dining al fresco is a stylish affair at this glorious home; guests will adjust the pace and enjoy long and leisurely breakfasts after a refreshing morning swim, or a mouthwatering barbecue as the sun softens across the hills, with an array of local wines and locally sourced antipasti.
Villa Travicello is a secluded and tranquil rustic idyll, set within its own verdant and fragrant private grounds, offering a little slice of preserved history, just a short distance from some of Tuscany’s finest cities.

Tuscany
With its rolling fields, historical heritage and a cuisine that’s a delight for all the senses, it’s no wonder Tuscany is one of the most popular regions in Italy for holidaymakers. Yet even with its popularity, you can still kick back in one of our luxury villas in Tuscany and feel peace, tranquillity and the joy of seclusion.
This is one destination that really does have a little bit of everything for everyone, whether you’re travelling with family, friends or are just looking for a romantic getaway with that special someone.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesChildren of all ages will enjoy this charming home with its abundant historical character and enchanting grounds. Fully executed for relaxed family living, children will be able to safely roam the grounds and discover its mysteries, or spend hours splashing in the pool.
The villa’s chef is able to cater for younger palates, so parents can enjoy a break also, and the novelty of dining outside will never wear thin!
For day trips, among the highlights for children in Tuscany, Pinocchio Park Collodi is a great day out - Collodi is home to a theme park dedicated to Pinocchio and his adventures, with activities like literary itineraries, buildings and sculptures set amidst the greenery, art exhibitions and illustrations, puppet making workshops and more. Rather than being a Disney style park, it is more a cultural and natural environment, very Italian in style.
Pistoia Zoo is located in the hills near Pistoia and is one of the most popular zoos in Italy; covering a space of seven hectares and an array of species for a fun and educational day out.
The water park, Aqua Village is located in Follonica, near Grosseto, and offers a range of slides and rides from gentle toddler splash pools to more thrill-seeker level for older children.
From hiking, to horse riding, to watersports, to cultural heritage, children of all ages will learn so much from a visit to Tuscany: what could be more enchanting than a day of dolphin watching in the reserve known as Pelagos Sanctuary in Viareggio, followed by a meal in a local hilltop restaurant - offering sublime, flavoursome local specialities followed by wonderful gelato and cream filled pastry treats that the region is known for.
