Overview
Sitting on a hillside in the residential area of Sanremo, this stunning villa boasts sweeping views of the city and seaside. Located within driving distance of the border of France, Villa Sanremo is the ideal place to experience both French and Italian towns, cultures, and cuisine.
This villa makes the most of the breath-taking views with its gorgeous outside space. Dine al-fresco on the large first-floor terrace while watching the waves crash into one another. Take a dip in the inviting private pool that sits in the large garden. With both shaded and sunny areas, you can choose to soak up the rays or sit somewhere cooler.
Inside the villa, you’ll find soft furnishings that give the place a homely feel. The living/dining room has a comfortable L-shaped sofa, a flat-screen TV, and large windows that frame the sea – ideal for cosying up during the evenings. If you prefer home-cooking, the kitchen is fully furnished with everything you need to create a delicious meal. Some of the bedrooms benefit from sea views, so you can wake up in the morning and look out to the sparkling blue water.
Villa Sanremo is situated nearby the Riviera de Fiori coastline, dotted with unspoiled beaches backed with cafés and bars. Within just a five-minute walk, you will find two restaurants serving fresh dishes. Travel less than ten minutes by car to the centre of Sanremo, home to a Villa Ormond, a gorgeous park with old olive groves and a Japanese garden, and San Siro Cathedral, which dates back to the 12th-century.
There are also lots of places you can reach in under half an hour by car, including the gorgeous beaches of Balzi Rossi. Grimaldi and Bordighera are also worth exploring, with their botanical gardens, quaint seashores, and nature reserves.
If you want to cross another country off your list, drive across the border to Menton in France in around thirty minutes. The area is a perfect blend between history and nature, with an 18th-century bell tower that sits in the medieval old town and the rare plants of Serre de la Madone gardens.
Travel slightly further afield (between 35-40 minutes by car) to Monte Carlo and Nice, two popular cities on the French Riviera. Monte Carlo is famous for its loud atmosphere and casinos, whereas Nice is known for its parks, most notably Parc de la Colline with its panoramic views, and ancient sites such as the 18th century ruins of Castle Hill.
