Food & Wine
Though compact in size, Umbria is brimming with traditions and unmissable delights for those passionate about food and wine. Its cuisine is deeply rooted in history, with recipes and techniques tracing back to the time of the Etruscans, guided by the rhythm of the seasons. Freshness, simplicity, and extraordinary flavour are at the heart of every dish. For travellers seeking an authentic gourmet journey, the Murlo Estate offers the ideal setting to savour the very best of Umbrian and Italian culinary excellence.

Il Caldaro Restaurant
Il Caldaro offers traditional Umbrian dishes with a modern twist, using fresh ingredients and local products. Their philosophy is reflected in the quality of the produce, most of which comes from the Estate’s own organic farm and vegetable garden.
The wine cellar has a strong focus on local labels, with particular emphasis given to boutique, quality producers, as well as paying homage to the great wines of Italy.
Guests can enjoy lunch, dinner, or drinks in the cosy restaurant, with its leather armchairs, copper tables, and large stone fireplace, or, outside, under the shaded terrace with its panoramic views.
In-Villa Dining
The experienced chefs of Il Caldaro can craft menus for grand dinner parties, wedding receptions, or evening dinners in the privacy of your villa.
Orangerie Bar
The Orangerie Bar is a great spot for coffee or a relaxed light lunch, with a selection of teas and coffees, fresh-baked cakes and gourmet sandwiches. In the evening, the space transforms into a lounge, with a wide list of cocktails, wines, and pre-dinner aperitifs.
Olive Groves & Estate Farm
The Estate is home to thousands of centuries-old olive trees, which are carefully harvested by hand at the end of October. The olives are sent to the local mill for cold-pressing (spremitura a freddo) to produce the Murlo Estate’s own olive oil. This can be purchased at Il Caldaro’s shop.
Located in the heart of the Estate, you’ll find the organic farm and the bio-dynamic vegetable gardens, which supply Il Caldaro with all fresh seasonal produce.
Vineyard
The Estate’s tranquil, sun-soaked vineyard is cultivated with minimal intervention, following organic practices that reflect profound respect for the natural environment. Vineyard tours and wine tastings can be arranged, guided by the Estate’s professional sommeliers. Each glass will be paired with local bruschetta or other appetizers.
