Villa Siri is set within two hectares of Mediterranean grounds with glorious views towards the sea, perched above the winding road leading to the historic heart of Massa Lubrense, only 7km from Sorrento.
You can walk along the road (no pavement) to the bustling village’s main square, home to a pretty cathedral as well as shops, a small supermarket and a handful of restaurants, cafes and bars. Sit on one of the square’s benches and gaze out to beautiful sea views or stop off for a coffee on a café terrace. In the other direction from the villa is the marina, around 1km away down the steep hill/steps, where you will find atmospheric restaurants, seasonal boat trips and sea-kayaking opportunities.
Across this protected area, discover incredible walks and hikes through olive groves and lemon trees, passing old hamlets and rural landscapes with magnificent views of the sea. Visit working farms to sample delicious products of the region such as olive oil, lemons, tomatoes and cheese. In terms of beaches, there are the rocky shores of San Montano around 2km away and other picturesque coves and bays, some easier to access than others, such as Marina del Cantone, Fiordo di Crapolla (accessed on foot via a mule track) and Cala di Mitigliano.
Of course, a great attraction of this region is Sorrento (7km), around a 15-minute drive away or check to see if there are boat trips from the marina. With stunning vistas over the Bay of Naples, this picture-postcard town is full of charm with its steep medieval lanes, restaurants, bars, café terraces and rich heritage. In the height of the summer, join the many visitors at one of the beach clubs near the harbour. As the evening nears, find a romantic spot to enjoy the sunset at any time of year.
There are of course so many fantastic day trips from this part of Campania whether you wish to take a boat tour across to the fascinating island of Capri, head further north towards Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius or simply explore the undulating beauty of the Amalfi coast with idyllic coastal villages such as Positano, Praiano and Amalfi waiting to be explored by car or boat.
