The villa is perfect for both families and groups of friends, offering three very generous sized bedrooms, each with either terrace or balcony access. The living space is open plan in design and stunning. Guests staying at this dreamy villa enjoy a spectacular terrace with shaded alfresco dining and lounging, an excellent built-in barbecue, architectural planting and a wonderful swimming pool with jets. We also feature Villa Paralos II which is almost identical to this villa. If you have friends that are thinking of taking a holiday, they may like to take a look and you can be next door to each other.

Guests staying at Villa Paralos I enjoy wonderful amenities in Glystra, Kiotari and Lardos. Lindos and its amazing Acropolis is only a fifteen minute drive away. The Lindos Acropolis is the most important archaeological site on Rhodes and the town also enjoys a sensational beach. The Old Town of Rhodes is roughly an hour away, a fabulous UNESCO World Heritage site with plenty of charm, ancient buildings and a fantastic dining scene. The nearest beach, Glystra, enjoys a relaxed setting, beautiful fine sand stretching 200 metres and calm, turquoise, shallow water making it perfect for families. There are plenty of sun loungers, parasols and a helpful cafe. Kiotari offers another long stretch of Blue Flag sand along with a great selection of watersports, traditional tavernas and chilled out bars. Lardos gives you a big helping of traditional Greek island life with its charming, old-fashioned square brimming with cypress trees, a church and an Italian fountain. Nearby, there is a monastery and the remains of a Byzantine castle, all surrounded by winding rural paths and scenic olive groves.

Villa Paralos I’s open plan living space is super cool and trendy. Its sociable kitchen is a work of art with top-of-the-range appliances, a wonderful island with trendy stools so that guests can keep the chef in your group and unique lighting. The living area offers comfy modern sofas and both areas enjoy floor-to-ceiling glass doors that drown the spaces in natural light and offer access to the extensive terrace.

One of the villa’s bedrooms is located on the ground floor, also with direct terrace access. It is a delightful double with a beautifully dressed double bed where you will enjoy the sleep of kings. It also boasts an exquisite ensuite bathroom which is highly contemporary with a giant walk-in shower and beautiful tiling.

Upstairs, you will find the final two bedrooms and a stunning family bathroom. Both bedrooms offer private furnished balconies where you can enjoy your morning cup of coffee or a late night tipple while captivated by the views. Like downstairs, you will dive deep into slumber in crisp cottons and wake to watch the sun rising over the sea.

The terrace is amazing. Two beautiful, trendy sail canopies offer shade over the alfresco dining and lounge areas. Your barbecue masters will have a lot of fun using the very large built-in barbecue. There are lovely plant pots and planting troughs as well as a selection of towering palms. The pool is just heavenly, surrounded by luxury loungers, umbrellas and bean bags. You will love this terrace!

Villa Paralos I enjoys a wonderful location in Rhodes within minutes of a selection of excellent beaches including Kiotari, Glystra and Kokkinogia. The beaches are all super-sized and offer fine sand, some with watersports and all with beach bars or a cafe.

Within roughly ten minutes’ drive, you can visit the medieval castle ruins at Asklipion as well as its Byzantine church and folklore museum. Gennadi boasts an excellent selection of whitewashed shops, bars and restaurants lining its narrow alleyways. Gennadi is very friendly and offers an excellent sand and pebble beach. You will find a mix of contemporary, modern villas set against old fashioned Greek tavernas.

The whitewashed town of Lindos is overlooked by its famous hilltop Acropolis. The ruins tell the story of the island’s past with remains from the Roman era, an ancient Greek temple and a castle built by the medieval knights of St John. Lindos is very pretty and full of unique jewellery and handicraft shops, boutiques, vibrant bars and wonderful restaurants. You can even hitch a ride to the top on the back of a donkey! With a beautiful beach, Lindos really is a coastal gem.

Rhodes Town sits at the far north with its wonderful churches left by the Byzantines and a gorgeous harbour that was one the site of the Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You will discover an intricate warren of busy little commercial streets and delightful, quiet alleys. It is the oldest inhabited medieval town in Europe. The Old Town is full of Byzantine and Gothic churches, medieval buildings, mosques, traditional fountains, oriental motifs and many boutique shops and restaurants. The highlights of the Old Town are the Palace of the Grand Master, the Archaeological Museum housed in the Gothic building of the Great Hospital of the Knights, Knight’s Street and some of the mosques.

Twenty minutes south of Rhodes Town on the the east coast, Koskinou is famous for its beautifully painted, colourful houses and its summer festival on 17 July celebrating the name day of St Marina with music and dancing. Visitors enjoy delicious traditional cuisine in the local tavernas as well as yummy local wines. Koskinou is an exciting labyrinth of tiny, winding, cobblestone streets with fabulous splashes of red, blue, yellow, green, pink and turquoise. You feel so alive and happy meandering through the lanes. The facades, doors and windows of the 17th and 18th century neoclassical houses are bright and cheerful, many with carved or etched designs. Small patios and gardens complete the pretty picture. You won’t be able to resist peeking in! Many of the whitewashed squares are draped in colourful bougainvillea and other flowers. Kosinou enjoys an interesting history since the 4th century AD. Its 13th century medieval castle and the chapels built in the 4th century are worth visiting.

Another Rhodes wonder, Kallithea, is situated against a setting of world famous spa baths and stunning beaches on the eastern coast of Rhodes. Its gorgeous inlets and coves are sprinkled with sculptured rocks and caves. Diving and snorkeling are very popular as well as the other watersports on offer. The Kallithea Spa was built in 1920 by the Italians. Following its restoration, the spa is a top sight. Many guests visit the area for its crystal clear azure waters and magical scenery.

Faliraki Beach is the most popular and most highly organised beach in Rhodes. It is more than 5km wide and offers fine golden sand, trendy beach bars, sun loungers and parasols, just about every watersport imaginable and even bungee jumping. The nightlife is incredible with fabulous restaurants, bars and nightclubs. The Faliraki Water Park is fantastic fun and a very popular excursion for families.

The Island/Getting There

Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It’s got a lot of history as it’s been invaded a lot by the Persians, Carians, Ottomans, Italians, and Germans.

Average temperatures go from 20’c in April up to 30’c in July/ August and down to 20’c in November. With an average of 85 rainy days a year they get sunshine for around 280 days.

The island is 90km long with Rhodes town at the northern tip. The airport (Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras") is also in the North (15km from Rhodes Town). Charter flights and Easyjet operate direct from the UK all season and out of season (Nov-March) you’d need to fly via Athens.

The Acropolis – The Acropolis that sits high above the town of Lindos is absolutely amazing and is a must see if you’re looking for some of the best views in all of Rhodes. One thing I should mention is that the climb up to the acropolis requires you to be somewhat active and able to climb stairs, lots of them. The trail begins through town and slowly but surely starts to get steeper as you climb the hill towards the acropolis. Once there, you’re rewarded with historical buildings dating back to 300 BC. Our Villa Corteau sit just underneath the ruins.

Rhodes has over 40 beaches, here are a few:

  • Anthony Quinn’s Bay – Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the most beautiful bays. The bay is located 17km (10 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and offers some incredible photo opportunities to say the least.
  • The beach at Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the best beaches in Rhodes. Get there early if you want to snag a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy wading around the bright blue and green water. Amazing!
  • For the best views of Anthony Quinn’s Bay from above, head on up to the windy road that leads up the hill just north of the bay and you’ll find a spot where you can sit and enjoy the virtually 180 degree views of Rhodes and its coastline.
  • Tsambika Beach (or Tsampika) –  Tsampika beach is located 30km (18 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and is a great place to spend the day in the sun.  Note: Beware there is a small section where nudists congregate on Tsampika beach
  • Lakido Beach – Just opposite Anthony Quinn’s Bay is Lakido beach. It’s literally 3 minutes walking distance from Anthony Quinn’s bay so visiting both beaches in a day is totally doable. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend visiting both if you get the chance
  • Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular tourist spots on the island of Rhodes. It was known for 18-30’s holiday in the 90-2000’s but I don’t think there is that market so much now. It is quite commercialised now there are water sports and a few diving schools.

How to reach Rhodes island

There are two ways to reach Rhodes Island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane: If you don’t want to lose time you can fly to Rhodes (RHO) from Athens. The flight lasts 1 hour. Many direct flights also operate from many European countries, so it will not be difficult to arrive there.

By ferry: If you choose to travel from Piraeus to Rhodes with a ferry, it will surely take you much longer but travelling with a ferry in the summer nights can be pretty enticing! The port of Rhodes is located in the southern part of the island and offers bus services to the town centre. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
