It’s in the lush four-acre garden, Mediterranean-modern interiors and inviting five-bedrooms that you’ll find the quintessence of luxury at Villa Kalvos. The entrance sets the tone of this villa – with a fountain and gated grounds sprinkled with native trees and fauna for your utmost privacy and tranquillity. Stepping inside, you’re greeted by a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and main living room with a plasma TV. The rooms are all equally seductive, stylish and serene, and you have the choice of one king, two doubles and two twin rooms to enjoy your peaceful night’s rest. We love the decadent bathrooms with cream tiles and the large hot tub – ideal for a spa-like feel. Comfortable beds, inviting chairs and dreamy wardrobe space up the 'luxe' factor, while the light colour palette picks up on the sea views, visible through the windows or one of the balconies.
During your stay, children can use the on-site indoor playroom or play hide and seek in the extensive enclosed grounds, where there’s also a football net. There’s also a picnic area and table tennis table. With parking, Wi-Fi and pool towels available for your convenience, the owners at Villa Kalvos have thought of everything to make sure your stay is the most relaxing and pleasant one.

About the surrounding area of Villa KalvosLocated 25km east of the city of Rhodes, and midway between lively Faliraki and ancient Lindos, Kolimpia is a beautiful resort known for its charming character, Blue Flag beach and striking natural scenery. With a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere and plenty of things to see and do, including a handful of cafés, bars and restaurants, it’s an ideal choice for families and couples alike.
Perhaps the most distinctive landmark at Kolimpia is the main straight road with eucalyptus trees, lined on both sides that connects the main street with the beach. If you have a family with small children, this stretch of coastline is perfect for its shallow waters and fine soft sand. The water is clear – ideal for swimming and snorkelling – and there are usually water sports on offer here.
From Kolimpia, you’re well placed to explore Rhodes’ coast by boat or do a spot of island-hopping. The boat trip to Symi, one of Greece’s most photogenic islands, takes in towering churches and silent monasteries. If luxury is more your thing, a yacht from the harbour can whisk you off to Charaki Bay for some first-class snorkelling and swimming in the turquoise waters.
If you have a car, Rhodes City Centre is a 30-minute drive from the villa, and even closer is the natural beauty of the Seven Springs – with forests for walking and natural lakes – and many other mountain destinations of Rhodes. You could also head to Lindos, a 40-minute drive, which has quaint houses clinging to a steep rock. The main attraction there is the Acropolis, the millennia-old temple to Athena, with its Doric columns and breath-taking 360-degree views.

The Island/Getting There
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It’s got a lot of history as it’s been invaded a lot by the Persians, Carians, Ottomans, Italians, and Germans.
Average temperatures go from 20’c in April up to 30’c in July/ August and down to 20’c in November. With an average of 85 rainy days a year they get sunshine for around 280 days.
The island is 90km long with Rhodes town at the northern tip. The airport (Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras") is also in the North (15km from Rhodes Town). Charter flights and Easyjet operate direct from the UK all season and out of season (Nov-March) you’d need to fly via Athens.
The Acropolis – The Acropolis that sits high above the town of Lindos is absolutely amazing and is a must see if you’re looking for some of the best views in all of Rhodes. One thing I should mention is that the climb up to the acropolis requires you to be somewhat active and able to climb stairs, lots of them. The trail begins through town and slowly but surely starts to get steeper as you climb the hill towards the acropolis. Once there, you’re rewarded with historical buildings dating back to 300 BC. Our Villa Corteau sit just underneath the ruins.
Rhodes has over 40 beaches, here are a few:
- Anthony Quinn’s Bay – Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the most beautiful bays. The bay is located 17km (10 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and offers some incredible photo opportunities to say the least.
- The beach at Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the best beaches in Rhodes. Get there early if you want to snag a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy wading around the bright blue and green water. Amazing!
- For the best views of Anthony Quinn’s Bay from above, head on up to the windy road that leads up the hill just north of the bay and you’ll find a spot where you can sit and enjoy the virtually 180 degree views of Rhodes and its coastline.
- Tsambika Beach (or Tsampika) – Tsampika beach is located 30km (18 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and is a great place to spend the day in the sun. Note: Beware there is a small section where nudists congregate on Tsampika beach
- Lakido Beach – Just opposite Anthony Quinn’s Bay is Lakido beach. It’s literally 3 minutes walking distance from Anthony Quinn’s bay so visiting both beaches in a day is totally doable. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend visiting both if you get the chance
- Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular tourist spots on the island of Rhodes. It was known for 18-30’s holiday in the 90-2000’s but I don’t think there is that market so much now. It is quite commercialised now there are water sports and a few diving schools.
How to reach Rhodes island
There are two ways to reach Rhodes Island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: If you don’t want to lose time you can fly to Rhodes (RHO) from Athens. The flight lasts 1 hour. Many direct flights also operate from many European countries, so it will not be difficult to arrive there.
By ferry: If you choose to travel from Piraeus to Rhodes with a ferry, it will surely take you much longer but travelling with a ferry in the summer nights can be pretty enticing! The port of Rhodes is located in the southern part of the island and offers bus services to the town centre. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.

Best Suited For: All AgesWith a sandy beach within walking distance, an enclosed private pool area and plenty of places to play in the shade in the grounds, this villa is an ideal choice for families with children.The nearest beach from the villa, Kolimpia Beach, is a sheltered bay and has calm crystal shallow waters that are perfect for swimming. There are also plenty more shallow beaches and coves to choose from in the nearby towns of Faliraki, Lindos and Rhodes.
The villa has an indoor playground, table tennis table, football net and a TV with a DVD player. Rhodes Waterpark is a 13.5km drive from Villa Kalvos, and there are plenty of attractions nearby including the Valley of Butterflies – a picturesque 600-acre nature park in Rhodes with walking trails – and historic sites including Lindos Acropolis – ancient ruins with breath-taking sea views.
