What Oliver loves…
- The whole family will enjoy lazy days spent lounging by the wonderful private pool!
- Set on an exclusive development of just three villas, guests will enjoy a relaxing stay
- Fabulous location just a 5-minute drive from the town of Sami where a variety of helpful amenities can be found
Villa Attis is one of three contemporary villas in a small complex on the outskirts of the village of Sami. It offers spacious and very comfortable accommodation for six with the possibility of sleeping an additional two guests on sofa beds in the lounge.
The access to the property is directly into the large, stylishly furnished lounge with a modern slant, different to the traditional shape and style of the exterior. The lounge is the pivotal point here, wall to wall patio doors open onto the tiled terrace where you will find the coved dining area, another access is to the covered barbecue area with a smaller bar style table and stool which would be ideal for sitting enjoying an aperitif as dinner is being made. The extremely well appointed kitchen is also on this level as well as the first of the bedrooms, a king-sized room with en suite shower room, this bedroom also boasts direct access to the poolside terrace. Upstairs you will find the remaining two bedrooms, a master bedroom with en-suite shower room as well as a quirky attic style room with two sofa beds, ideally suited to children.
The landscaped garden area is perfect for a family holiday, totally secure and laid mostly to grass with feature stones and young trees, plenty of freedom for children to enjoy. The whole family will enjoy splashing around in the stunning heated salt water pool in the Kefalonian sunshine!
There is so much to appreciate and enjoy at Villa Attis, every effort has been made to build three traditional looking villas using natural materials and in a style that fits comfortably into the stunning hillside location.

While you're bound to just want to laze by the private pool, there is so much to see and do on this magical island that it is worth taking a few trips out to explore.
The local village of Sami can provide all you would want during your stay, lovely small shops selling local produce should you want to eat at the villa, the bakeries offer particularly delicious bread and cakes. There is also a good choice of places to eat both at the harbour side and in the small streets in the centre. Children are always made so welcome in the cafe’s and tavernas, eating as a family is very important in Greek culture.
The beaches of Kefalonia are what most holiday makers come for, there are so many to choose from you won’t have to go far to find one. There a several fabulous beaches within walking distance of Sami namely Antisamos, which has been awarded blue flag status and at Karavomilos a peaceful little fishing village accessed from the coastal path that runs from Sami.
Further down the coast is the beautiful beach of Agios Thomas, a picturesque cove with yellow sand, it great for families as the swimming and snorkelling opportunities are wonderful for children and adults alike. The underwater caves and rocky formations are home to many brightly coloured fish you certainly won’t see at home.
Kefalonia is famed for its slow pace of life and chilled vibes. There are many towns and villages where you can really get this feeling, the beautiful village of Fiskardo being one. An historic fishing village dating back to Roman times, situated in the northern most part of the island, fringed by tall pine trees and a picture postcard harbour area with many independent Greek restaurants. The village uniquely still retains some of its stunning Venetian architecture, much of which was lost on the island during the earthquake in 1953. If you have time when you are here, take a walk around to the beautiful Venetian lighthouse believed to date back to the 8th century.

How to reach Kefalonia island
There are two ways to get to Kefalonia island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: During the busy months, the airport of Kefalonia (EFL) receives a great number of domestic but also charter flights. The airport is located 7 km outside Argostoli, the capital of the island.
By ferry: Kefalonia has three ports: Sami (SMI), Argostoli (ARM), and Poros (PKE). If you want to arrive in Sami you should depart from Patra (GRA). In case you want to arrive to Poros or Argostoli you can depart from Killini (KIL). The trips last from 1.5 to 3 hours. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
The garden at Villa Attis is a safe and secure area for children to play in, lots of space for games and splashing around in the private pool. When you're ready for an excursion, there is no shortage of family-friendly activities and attractions in the surrounding area.
Within walking distance of Sami is beautiful Karavomylos a quaint and very peaceful fishing village. It is home to the famous Melissani Cave and Lake, a fascinating place for adults and children alike. Waters from the western side of the island travel underground and mix with the freshwater, causing the lake to be extra beautiful and endearing. There is a tavern here, the perfect place to stop and get some food and drinks. It is a magical setting with the lake on one side and the sea on the other. From here your next stop should be the Drogarati (Dragon) Caves, estimated to 150 million years old! the entrance to which was revealed by a strong earthquake. The caves are made up of two parts, one that is accessible to tourists and one part that can only be accessed by crossing a small lake. The stunning rock formations, stalagmites and stalactites really need to be seen to be believed. The acoustics are also incredible, the cave occasionally being used for musical performances by some of the most famous Greek singers of all time.
Beaches will clearly be the main feature of your family holiday and there are so many to choose from, just sometimes you need more than sea and sand and who doesn’t love a turtle. The waters around Kefalonia provide the perfect living and breeding conditions for these awesome creatures. On a trip to Argostoli Bay you are sure to see them appearing in the harbour to snap up any discarded fish from the catch of the day. They also have nesting sites on some of the beaches along the south coast nearby, including Lefkas and Koroni beaches, these areas are protected by volunteers ensuring the turtles and their eggs aren’t disturbed.
Children will also love the informal style of the Greek restaurants and tavernas, they are always made most welcome and encouraged to try the local dishes.
