Location
About the surrounding area of Villa BerniceWell situated close to the coastal resort town of Nikiti in the province of Halkidiki, guests can venture into town to explore the Old Town’s traditional architecture, sample local pine honey, visit the Folklore Museum, or simply bask on the town’s many beaches and swim in the turquoise sea. Nikiti Beach itself is a long sandy stretch that extends for miles, and also boasts a promenade lined with restaurants.
After a day in the sun, why not have dinner and drinks under the plane tree in the Main Square of Old Nikiti? Platanos Taverna, Barcarolla, and the JUL cocktail bar surround the main square and all offer great dining options. With hundreds of fairy lights and lanterns lighting up the central tree, this is a dining experience best enjoyed when the sun goes down.
For those who like to work up an appetite before they enjoy a delicious meal, hike up to the nearby ruins of St. Sopronius Church. Today, the ruin of this early Christian basilica consists of marble columns and mosaic floors.
If that jaunt gets the trekking juices flowing, then there are a great many more trails around Mount Itamos (30-minute drive), a reserved area of Sithonia.
If you’d like to venture below the turquoise surface of Halkidiki, there’s plenty of opportunity for scuba diving as the region boasts more than 20 great diving locations including reefs, walls and caverns.
For a more cosmopolitan experience, why not take a day trip to Thessaloniki (65-minute drive)? From the stunning White Tower to the triumphal Arch of Galerius and the dazzling waterfront, Thessaloniki is a bustling city with a wealth of attractions and activities. Beyond the sites, however, there is also a wealth of traditional cuisine to enjoy, including traditional sweets like bougatsa, a thin phyllo pastry packed with buffalo cream. The town also has a bright nightlife stretching from 1920s era speakeasies to contemporary nightclubs and everything in between, there’s no shortage of hotspots to check out.

Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesFar and away the Central Beach of Nikiti stretches for over 4 kilometres, and thanks to its clean sands and calm shoreline is the perfect place of kids to build sandcastles and frolic in the sea. The beach also boasts a kids’ playground, water sports centre, and even a diving centre. Other nearby beaches include Kastri Beach, Agios Ioannis Beach, Koviou Beach, Kalogria Beach, and Lagomandra Beach.

Found in an old school building, the exhibition includes over 1,500 pieces including traditional garments, household items, pictures, coins, and more. The displays give a great sense of the local history and traditions.
Another great activity can be found across the isthmus where you can sea kayak around Diaporos Island.
