Maison Merveilleuse is a charming Provençal escape with a serene garden, pool, and village-center access, offering comfort and elegance for up to 11 guests.
Maison Merveilleuse feels like a holiday home for all generations whether sipping coffee beneath the wisteria-clad terrace, embracing the aromas of lavender, watching on as children enjoy the play area or cooling off in the idyllic swimming pool. What’s more, you are a very short stroll from the heart of the picture-perfect village of Eygalières.
Inside there’s a comfortable lounge and fireplace, a dining area and a brilliantly equipped kitchen leading out to the shaded terrace. Two of the five double bedrooms are on the ground floor, each with its own shower room. There’s another three double bedrooms and bath/shower rooms upstairs (two en suite), one with an additional single bed allowing Maison Merveilleuse to sleep up to 11 guests in total.
It’s truly idyllic within the enclosed grounds. The swimming pool features an attractive terrace with sun loungers and there are shaded spots for relaxing as you watch on. Olive groves and oleander add to the garden’s Provençal character and there’s a little children’s play area amongst the shady trees and lavender. A covered terrace with beautiful Roman tiles is the perfect spot for al-fresco dining by the barbecue and plancha.
Simply stroll or cycle along the road and within 300m you will find yourself by Café de la Place with its shaded pavement tables and chairs. Wander past pretty shuttered houses, upmarket restaurants, little shops and shady plane trees as you explore the village, meandering up the hill until you are met with glorious vistas of the surrounding countryside. It’s such a pretty village – no wonder A-list celebrities have been known to stay here to escape the French Riviera paparazzi.
Artistic Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is only 13km by car with its galleries and Wednesday morning market whilst other highlights of Les Alpilles include Les Baux-de-Provence and Maussane-les-Alpilles. Arles, Avignon and even the perched villages of the Luberon are also waiting to be explored across this charmingly beautiful region of southern France.

A short walk from the village centre of Eygalières, Maison Merveilleuse enjoys a prime location in Les Alpilles Natural Regional Park, only 29km south of Avignon.
Set in beautiful gated gardens, the house is in a residential neighbourhood on one of the roads/lanes leading to the heart of Eygalières, one of the prettiest villages of the region. Within 300m you could be drinking coffee at Café de la Place watching the world go by or pottering around the Friday morning market on Rue de la République. Dine out in a range of restaurants from authentic bistros to upmarket establishments (including Michelin starred Maison Hache).
Climb to the top of the hill for stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This is a popular area for cyclists and walkers alike – follow country lanes past farmland and olive groves as you potter to local villages or venture further into the landscapes of pine forests with incredible vistas of Les Alpilles’ limestone peaks.
Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (13km) is a short drive away, a bustling town with a great range of amenities alongside a characterful old quarter with café terraces, art galleries and a wonderful Wednesday morning market. Heading south, visit hilltop Les Baux-de-Provence (22km) for more incredible scenery and enjoy lunch out in the charming village of Maussane-les-Alpilles (18km) famed for producing some of France’s finest extra virgin olive oil.
Beyond Les Alpilles, L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (27km) is a lovely day out with its waterwheels and antique shops (the Sunday morning brocante is one of the best in Provence) whilst Fontaine-de-Vaucluse offers more hiking routes as well as kayaking/canoeing opportunities.
You are also well located for driving to the Luberon for idyllic perched villages (Gordes and Ménerbes are both around 30km by car), vineyards and glorious landscapes for walking, cycling or simply admiring the incredible beauty of Provence.
