This joyful villa is ideal for a family or small group of friends wanting to spend quality time together relaxing, swimming and dining al-fresco with its superb summer kitchen and poolside bar. Just a short drive from artistic Arles, this is a great location for exploring the landscapes of Provence and the captivating Camargue.
Maison Grillon is air-conditioned throughout and sleeps up to 6 guests across three bedrooms with king-size doubles (one of which can be split into a twin). There is a spacious lounge with a huge sofa and TV as well as a fantastic kitchen-diner with sliding doors opening out to the swimming pool.
The outdoor space has been created with sociable living in mind. We love the poolside bar with its outdoor lounge and dining area whilst the summer kitchen is impressively equipped for cooking up feasts using the oven, hob and plancha. Sun worshippers can relax on the poolside loungers whilst more active guests can play ping-pong. Not to mention the brilliant heated swimming pool.
Part of a farm, drive past greenhouses and farmland as you explore further afield – the authentic Provençal village of Fontvieille is just over 7km away with its bustling restaurants, shops, old-fashioned cinema and iconic Moulin de Daudet, part of a windmill walking trail. Arles is also close by, around 15 minutes by car, with its characterful streets, art galleries, markets and Roman history including the magnificent Arènes d'Arles.
Arles is the gateway to the Camargue for wild horses, pink flamingos and incredible nature – you could even reach the Mediterranean in less than an hour. Find time to also explore Les Alpilles, passing olive groves and pine forests as you head towards gems such as Les Baux-de-Provence, one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’ and only 20 minutes away from your Provençal holiday home.

The nearest village with amenities is Raphèle-lès-Arles (7km) with a small supermarket, tennis club, bakery and restaurant. There are further amenities including larger supermarkets in Saint-Martin-de-Crau (10km) and a lovely selection of restaurants in the village of Fontvieille (7.5km), home to the Moulin de Daudet and a windmill walking trail.
Arles (13km) is one of the great highlights of the region, famed for its Van Gogh associations – Café Terrace at Night was painted here in the late 19th century. The town is also loved for its charming architecture, atmospheric markets and Roman heritage – a visit to the ancient Arènes d'Arles is a must. In the summer the highly regarded International Photography Festival takes place in Arles.
Arles is also the gateway to the Camargue, a unique and picturesque region known for its wild landscapes, rich wildlife, and traditional culture. Visitors can explore its natural beauty through horseback riding, birdwatching (especially the famous pink flamingos), and boat tours. It’s an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts and those seeking an authentic French adventure.
Heading north instead, admire the beauty of Les Alpilles with its gorgeous landscapes of limestone hills, olive groves, and charming villages including Les Baux-de-Provence (16km), Maussane-les-Alpilles (14km) and hilltop Eygalières (30km). Discover gastronomic restaurants (some with Michelin stars) and delightful weekly markets. Indeed, food and art lovers alike won’t want to miss Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (22km) with its café terraces, galleries and wonderful Wednesday morning market.
