This gorgeous stone villa with a heated swimming pool is set a short distance from one of Les Alpilles’ most enchanting hilltop villages, Eygalières.

There is a relaxed ambience throughout Maison Audrey, a spacious home styled with fine furnishings and artwork. Peep through the traditional little windows towards the countryside or village across the three attractive double bedrooms, each with a private shower room, whilst a children’s quad bedroom with bunk-beds and a family bathroom allows Maison Audrey to sleep up to 10 guests (6 adults and 4 children). There is air-conditioning in all four upstairs bedrooms and underfloor cooling on the ground floor.

Across the delightful grounds there is a covered terrace for al-fresco meals overlooking the trailing roses, lawn and olive trees. A little gate leads through to the heated swimming pool and its poolside terrace. The garden is such a joyful place to spend quality time with loved ones with a great sense of space alongside the colours and scents of Provence.

Stroll along the country road (no pavement) into Eygalières – it’s around 800m to the characterful Café de la Place where you can soak up the village ambience with a coffee or apéritif watching the world pass by. Eygalières is a picture-perfect village with lovely shops, gastronomic restaurants and beautiful old houses – wander up to the top of the village for wonderful views of the surrounding landscapes. In recent years A-list celebrities have bought houses here to escape the French Riviera paparazzi.

Passing olive trees and farmland, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is a 14km drive away, famed for its Van Gogh heritage, art galleries and vibrant Wednesday morning market. Other idyllic villages of Les Alpilles include Les Baux-de-Provence and Maussane-les-Alpilles – sample some of France’s best extra virgin olive oil in restaurants or farms. There are fantastic opportunities for walking, hiking, rock-climbing and cycling through the scenery of Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park.

A little further afield, the historic cities of Avignon and Nîmes are excellent days out, or venture east towards the undulating landscapes of the Luberon – iconic perched villages such as Gordes, Ménerbes and Oppède le Vieux are less than a 40-minute drive away.

Maison Audrey is located on the edge of Eygalières, one of the most picturesque villages in Les Alpilles Regional Natural Park. Fly into the airports near Avignon, Nîmes or Marseille or arrive via the fast train into Avignon TGV (30km).

Around a 10 to 15-minute walk away following the country roads (no pavement), Eygalières is such a pretty village to explore with its gorgeous café terraces, high-end restaurants and beautiful views of the countryside, especially as you walk up to the top of the village. The village has a variety of shops, a grocery store and a charming weekly market on a Friday morning. Surrounding the village you will find wonderful walks and superb cycling opportunities.

Saint-Rémy-de-Provence (14km) is home to larger supermarkets alongside further inviting restaurants and shops, art galleries and the Van Gogh trail which ends at Monastery Saint-Paul de Mausole where the Dutch artist spent the last period of his life. Visit St-Rémy on a Wednesday morning to experience the town’s vibrant market where traders showcase delicious seasonal produce and artisan crafts.

Other picture-perfect villages across Les Alpilles include Maussane-les-Alpilles (19km) for lunch on the characterful village square, and Les Baux-de-Provence (23km), classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’. History and art lovers may also wish to spend the day exploring Arles (39km) or follow the footsteps of Alphonse Daudet by following Fontvieille’s windmill trail.

Beyond Les Alpilles, venture into the Luberon region with its idyllic landscapes of vineyards, orchards and perched villages such as Gordes, Ménerbes and Roussillon, all within a 45-minute drive. The historic city of Avignon (29km) is just half an hour away by car or potter around the antique stores of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (27km), close to the extraordinary natural beauty of Fontaine-de-Vaucluse (28km).

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €5000 charged to client's credit card as a pre-authorisation at least 2 weeks prior to arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.

Departure time 10.00 a.m.
Changeover day Saturday. All other changeover days on request.
Minimum stay 7 nights. All other durations on request.

Pool opening dates? Please note that pool opening dates are subject to local weather conditions and pool maintenance requirements and that cooler months may not be suitable for swimming.
Pool heating charge? Extra charge, payable locally. Please note that like all heated pools, pool heating and water temperature are reliant on weather and outside temperatures.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Pets welcome? On request only and with prior agreement with the owner.
Smoking Allowed? Not allowed.
