Featuring the traditional aesthetics of the pretty villas that adorn the streets of Portes en Ré, along with a modern and comfortable interior, this delightful five-bedroomed villa, with heated pool, is a terrific base for your stay on the salubrious Ile de Ré. Up to ten guests will be a strong tee-shot from the challenging Golf de Trousse-Chemise, along with the dreamy sands and sunsets of La Plage de Trousse-Chemise.

Minimalist décor with subtle nautical theming is order of the day around this stunning villa’s roomy interior. The huge floor-to-ceiling sliding doors to the lounge and dining rooms give way to sensational garden views, while maximising natural light in the bright and spacious main living area. Foodies will love this home’s large, superbly appointed kitchen and the stylish dining table will comfortably seat all your guests.

There’s plenty of flexibility in terms of sleeping arrangements too, with the option to split the double beds in all five of Villa Bonnard’s tastefully furnished bedrooms. The master bedroom features an en-suite bathroom, comprising twin washbasins, a bathtub, shower and WC, along with portes-fenêtres that beckon in glorious sunshine, leading directly onto the terrace. The two bedrooms without dedicated showers are served by the villa’s main bathroom, which also features two washbasins and a shower.

The villa offers a smaller, secondary kitchen adjacent to two of the bedrooms, along with direct access to the poolside terrace. This additional kitchen is perfect for chilling poolside drinks, as well as preparing delicious dinners to enjoy at sunset.

Step outside and converge with the island’s natural beauty – the grounds are surrounded by beautifully kept topiary, with native pine and cypress trees decorating the lush lawn to the rear of the villa. There’s a chance for guests to enjoy some gentle competition, alongside the superbly curated front garden – anyone for table tennis? From your base at Villa Bonnard, you’ll be in both a beach lover’s and gourmet’s heaven! Golfers are within a short walk from the predominantly flat but technically challenging Golf de Trousse Chemise, with club hire available.

What Oliver loves...

  • The synergy with the local fauna is beautifully achieved in this villa’s stunning gardens – even with loungers at the poolside, it’s difficult to resist throwing down a beach towel on the lawn under a tall pine with a cool drink!
  • The two well-equipped kitchens are a gourmet’s delight, especially when you return from the local market with bags full of culinary delights!
  • We love the direct access to the terrace from some of the bedrooms, the scent of pine and sea air gives a sumptuous start to every morning of your stay.
