The Omis Riviera scenery is incredibly dramatic, with sharp, jagged mountains, gorges, and dazzling turquoise waters. Omis is brimming with ancient buildings and churches. Tourists enjoy visiting the 13th-century Fortress Mirabella and 15th-century Fortress Starigrad, otherwise known as Fortica Fortress, silent reminders of the power and might of the infamous Omis pirates. St Michael’s Square is sprinkled with charming cafes, bars and restaurants. The town enjoys a fabulous reputation for its gastronomy and delicious wines.

The villa’s open-plan living spaces are located on the ground floor. The living area is beautifully furnished with a plush velvet corner sofa and vibrant accent chairs, which enjoy superb sea views and are positioned perfectly for the large television. Also enjoying excellent views is the smart dining space for ten which sits next to the very stylish chef’s dream of a kitchen. Here you will find top-of-the-range appliances, including a large fridge freezer with an ice maker and a DeLonghi coffee bean machine. This is a wonderfully sociable space where the chef in your group can have lots of company. One of the five double bedrooms is also located on the ground floor, a gorgeous room with a sumptuous kingsize bed, an immaculate ensuite shower room, access to the pool deck and fabulous sea views. A separate toilet is also here.

The first floor is home to three bedrooms, and the master sits proudly on the second floor. All three bedrooms on the first floor enjoy breathtaking sea views and a huge open terrace where you can relax on trendy alfresco lounge furniture. Each bedroom offers a quality kingsize bed adorned with crisp cottons, exquisite soft furnishings, and a sleek ensuite shower room with striking designs. A useful laundry room sits alongside these rooms with a washing machine, dryer and ironing facilities. Two bedrooms share one terrace, and the other enjoys its own covered terrace. Region

The Dalmatian coast is a veritable treasure trove of stunning landscapes and historic towns, and Omis, situated halfway between the famous port city of Split and the energetic town of Maksarka, is no exception. With its rich history, scenic backdrop, and a plethora of attractions, Omis stands out as a unique and captivating destination for those seeking to explore the charm of Croatia. The town's history is deeply intertwined with its dramatic geographical setting, which is dominated by the imposing Cetina River Canyon and the Mosor Mountain Range.

The old town of Omis, with its narrow cobblestone streets and stone houses, is a place where history and culture converge. It’s a charming place to explore on foot and soak up the local way of life. There are a number of historic churches that you’ll come across while exploring - the Church of St. Michael, the Church of St. Peter, and the Church of St. Rocco, which all showcase intricate architectural details and a sense of reverence. The old town is also home to an abundance of restaurants, cafes, and local shops, it’s an excellent spot to savour authentic Croatian dishes and find unique souvenirs.

One of the most prominent historical attractions in the town is the Mirabella Fortress, often called Peovica. Perched high on a rocky outcrop, this fortress was built during the 13th century and was used as a hideout by the notorious Omis pirates who terrorised the Adriatic Sea. Today, visitors can climb up the steep path to the fortress and enjoy panoramic views of the town, the coast, and the surrounding landscapes.

Omis boasts a pristine stretch of coastline with a variety of beaches, each catering to different tastes. One of the most popular is the sandy beach at the mouth of the Cetina River, offering calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. Adventurous spirits may prefer the pebbly beach of Brzet, known for its perfect conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Just a short drive from Omis, there's the small village of Stanici, which is renowned for its unspoiled beaches and crystal-clear waters. It's a serene place to relax and escape the crowds often found in more touristy locations.

The Cetina River is a defining feature of Omis, and one of the most exhilarating activities here is to take a rafting excursion along its emerald waters. The river cuts through the impressive Cetina Canyon, creating a thrilling white-water rafting experience that appeals to adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. The journey offers panoramic views of the rugged cliffs, lush forests, and the charming villages that dot the landscape.

The nearby Biokovo Nature Park is an outstanding natural attraction. The Biokovo Mountain Range, part of the Dinaric Alps, offers incredible hiking opportunities, with well-marked trails leading to panoramic viewpoints where you can marvel at the Adriatic Sea and the islands scattered along the coast. The juxtaposition of the rugged mountain terrain and the azure waters is simply stunning and will leave a lasting impression.

The history, natural beauty, and cultural vitality of Omis combine to create a destination that is rich in character and charm. Whether you're seeking adventure on the Cetina River, exploring the medieval fortresses, or simply savouring the local cuisine, Omis has something to offer every traveller who ventures to this utterly enchanting corner of the Dalmatian coast.

Paragliding and hang-gliding are relatively new in Omis, but the high cliffs rising from the Adriatic Sea and the breathtaking beauty of the city, Cetina canyon and the Omis Riviera make it a fabulous place to try it. Although paragliding is an extreme sport, there are tandem flights for younger guests.

Harry Potter and Game of Thrones fans will love visiting the cellar in the Diocletian’s Palace in Split, where Deanerys kept her dragons and other locations around the town. The Klis Fortress on the hillside overlooking Split was used in Game of Thrones. Children enjoy climbing to the top of the bell tower of St Domnius Cathedral.

Families enjoy fabulous beach days nearby and on the Makarska Riviera. Markarska is very popular for its ice-cream parlours, beaches, harbour and the Makarska Observatory, where small children can observe the clear skies and planets through the telescope. You can take boat trips over to the islands from the harbour.

The scenic Plitvice Lakes National Park was granted UNESCO World Heritage status in 1979. A series of waterfalls interconnect the park’s sixteen stunning lakes. The park is absolutely stunning, a place you will never forget.

Another fantastic day trip is to the astonishing Krka National Park. Visitors take a boat ride through the park from Skradin to Skradinski and can swim, stand under spring water waterfalls and jump off rocks. The scenery is spectacular, with top attractions including the magnificent Skradinski and Buk waterfalls, the small island of Visovac and the Roski Slap waterfall.
