Casa Ura is located in the small and laid back town of Santo Tomas which is situated on the southern coast of Menorca. The Balearic island of Menorca has a Mediterranean climate and is known for its seafood, beautiful scenery, stunning beaches and relaxing atmosphere. Menorca Airport is located at a 30-minute drive from the villa.
Casa Ura has a classic Spanish villa look and is surrounded by a small Mediterranean style garden, inside you will find a mix of traditional and modern décor. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday where you can spend some quality time together then this villa could be the perfect choice for you, this property can accommodate up to 8 guests making it ideal for a large family or a group of friends.
The villa has 4 bedrooms which include 2 double rooms and 2 twin rooms, making it easier to organise sharing arrangements. There are 3 bathrooms available so plenty of room for everyone to get ready. The traditionally tiled kitchen with exposed wooden beams comes fully equipped and ready to use, here you can also access the outdoor area via the patio door. The open lounge and dining area have a modern look with more of the charming exposed beams, the two large patio doors which look out on to the pool make this space light and airy. Here you will also find a fireplace to cosy up in front of on those chillier nights.
Casa Ura offers fantastic outdoor space with stunning sea views that can be admired from the living area, poolside or balcony. Take a swim in the refreshing private swimming pool and sit back and relax with a drink in your hand on the sun loungers. Here you will also find a porch area that provides shade, a dining table set, a small utility area and a barbecue, great for dining outside on those warm summer evenings.
There is free Wi-Fi and air-conditioning available throughout the property and parking is available on site. If you are in need of accommodation for a larger group, there is also the opportunity to rent the twin property Villa Anita, this way you can make sure that no one gets left behind on this lovely holiday.

About the surrounding area of Casa UraCasa Ura is located in the small town of Santo Tomas, known for its laid back environment; its beautiful natural pine-covered hills and its stunning beaches. This ideally located villa is surrounded by similar holiday properties, wooded areas and boasts of picturesque sea views. Casa Ura is located within walking distance of cafes, restaurants and supermarkets, making everything easily accessible and the beach can be reached within a 13-minute walk.
Santo Tomas beach is the closest to Casa Ura, this beautiful and spacious beach has a golden sandy shore with some rocky areas, lovely clear sea and a picturesque hill and woodland backdrop. There are restaurants and bars dotted around and facilities for hiring sunbeds and umbrellas. Some of the activities include paddle boarding, canoeing and windsurfing, boat and pedalo hire are also available. Snorkelling is a popular activity too, amongst the rocky areas you will be able to spot some of the local sea life. During the summer periods there is a lifeguard on duty and if you decide to drive there is parking available.
If you are into hiking, horse riding or mountain biking then head to the Camí de Cavalls coastal path, the well sign-posted path was restored in 2010, making it accessible to everyone. This 185 km path goes all the way around the island and will lead you through wetlands, valleys, spectacular hidden beaches, woodlands and lighthouses. So why not pick a small section of this striking route and give it a go. One of the most picturesque sections happens to be between Cala Galdana and Santo Tomas which will walk you past some stunning virgin beaches.
Menorca's capital city of Mahon is located at a 40-minute drive from Casa Ura and is a fantastic place to visit if you fancy a more busty day. Here you can take a guided boat tour around the large natural harbour where you will be able to get a unique view of the harbour's buildings and the small islands and forts in the area.
Visit the Museum of Menorca, which is set in a 17th-century monastery where you will be able to learn about the history of the island. Browse the local market where you will be able to buy local produce and products. If you still have time to spare then make sure you head to a local restaurant to try Menorca's famous lobster stew and pay a visit to the Xoriguer Gin distillery to sample the product in its place of origin.

THE REGION
Santo Tomas is situated in the municipality of es Migjorn Gran. It is just a stone's throw away from both Cala Galdana and Son Bou. This area has a very relaxing feel to the town, which feels more the way of a strip. It is ideal for couples and young families and has lots of entertainment at hotels and bars. There is plenty of activities for the kids too.
The town has a beautiful walk that surrounds the place and the beach of Santo Tomas. Undoubtedly, it's an excellent place to walk with the family. In addition, it has some children's parks, restaurants and pubs to enjoy a delicious cocktails.
Three beaches define Santo Tomas, San Adeodato beach, or Binicodrell, Sant Tomas beach, and Binigaus beach. This last one is the most famous as it used to be empty of people, and the turquoise waters are astonishing.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesCasa Ura is a great place for a family vacation, the large terrace area and open living space offer a lovely environment to spend time together. The highlight of the villa for the kids has to be the private pool where they can swim, play and splash about as much as they want. This area is enclosed so no need to worry about the little ones exploring too far; you can also view the pool area from the lounge and kitchen for peace of mind. There are supermarkets, cafes and restaurants at walking distance, so you don't have to worry about going too far with the kids.
Santo Tomas beach is a short walk away and is a lovely location for a family day out. The beach is predominately sandy with some rocky areas and has clean and calm waters, so it is great for the little ones to swim in. During peak season there is a lifeguard on duty to keep an eye too. If you are planning on taking a pushchair, there are several wooden walkways which make it easier to access the beach if you are looking for something fun to do with the kids then why not hires a pedalo or a boat for an adventure at sea.
A couple of places worth visiting in the local area are Carema Splash Park and Lloc de Menorca Zoo. Carema Splash Park is located at a 25-minute drive from the villa and is mainly aimed at the younger crowd, here you will find a variety of water slides, shallow pools, water jets and a pirate-themed water playground. There are loungers available for you to relax while the little ones play and restaurant facilities on site.
Lloc de Menorca Zoo is a 20-minute drive from Casa Ura; this family-friendly zoo has a variety of animals for the kids to get to know such as macaques, lemurs, wallabies, snakes, birds of prey and many more. There are a petting zoo and playground area with swings, a zip line and life-sized animal models. The zoo also has a shop, snack bar and picnic area.
If you are heading to Mahon for the day a few fun ways to explore with the kids are the hop-on-hop-off little red land train which departs from Plaça de s’Esplanada, this train will take you around several of the main attractions and gives you a good overview of Mahon. Or the Yellow Catamaran tour that departs from Mahon harbour, on this 1-hour tour you will learn about the harbour and the history of Mahon, as well as have the chance to admire the stunning views from the top deck or explore the sea life in the underwater deck. There are toilets and a snack bar on board, and there is easy access for pushchairs making it a fun stress-free adventure for the family.
