Why Visit Sitges?

Sitges has a cultural identity that goes well beyond its beaches. Cau Ferrat, once the home and studio of artist Santiago Rusiñol, is central to the town’s Modernist history, while the neighbouring Maricel buildings and whitewashed streets give the old quarter much of its character. Along the coast, Sant Sebastià, Ribera and Balmins offer easy swimming close to town.

Behind Sitges, the Garraf Natural Park is a landscape of pale limestone, low hills and walking and cycling routes, with Penedès wine country further inland. Local food has its own signatures too. Xató combines escarole, salted fish, olives and a nut-based sauce, while arròs a la sitgetana mixes seafood and meat with local Malvasia wine. That same Malvasia remains one of Sitges’ most distinctive local wines.

Getting Around

Barcelona El Prat Airport is around 30–40 minutes away by car. Direct flights from the UK take approximately two to three hours, with easy onward train and bus connections.
