Why visit Lanzarote?

Lanzarote offers a travel experience unlike anywhere else in Spain. The island’s volcanic origins have shaped a landscape of dramatic contrasts, where black lava fields meet bright white villages and turquoise Atlantic waters.

Nature lovers will find plenty to explore. Timanfaya National Park showcases Lanzarote’s volcanic power with steaming geysers, lava flows and surreal red and black terrain. Along the coast, beaches vary from golden sands at Playa Blanca to wild, windswept stretches at Famara, a favourite with surfers.

Lanzarote is also famous for the work of visionary local artist César Manrique, who transformed the island into a living gallery. His architectural projects blend art, nature and design – from the lava cave concert hall of Jameos del Agua to the cactus-filled gardens of Jardín de Cactus.
