Extremely close to the La Flegere ski lift, Les Tines Train Station and Chamonix golf club, and only 9-minute drive to the very heart of Chamonix with its wonderful amenities and unmissable apres-ski scene. This chalet is perfect for groups of families or friends.

The Chamonix Valley offers spectacular skiing and winter sports at every level. Mountain trekking, water sports and hang-gliding are additional popular pursuits in this outstanding region. Chalet Jonquille is an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts any time of year. Les Grand Montets is the largest of the pisted skiing areas in the Chamonix valley at 1800 hectares and Chalet Jonquille is an ideal choice to make the most of this extraordinary area.

Chalet Jonquille is a bright airy chalet with flexible sleeping space and modern amenities. The white walls, warm woods and stylish comfortable furnishings at this detached chalet make it a lovely retreat to return to after exhilarating adventures.
The ground floor offers an informal, open living area with big squashy sofas perfect for snuggling up around the cosy fire to watch TV or simply chill out and offers a large dining table perfect for hearty feasts. The modern kitchen is very well equipped enjoying a dishwasher, microwave, induction hob, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. the informal breakfast area has stunning views. The property also enjoys a sunny private garden perfect for alfresco dining.

The four gorgeous light and airy bedrooms are all located upstairs. The master double bedroom enjoys an en-suite and the bonus of balcony access. The second en-suite bedroom enjoys two single beds (easily turned into a double) and balcony access. Bedroom three is an intimate characterful double bedroom with balcony access and bedroom four is a wonderful flexible family room with a double bed and single bed. At hand is a shared family bathroom, all bathrooms enjoy tubs with overhead showers.

The chalet offers plenty of ski storage space an additional WC and uncovered parking besides the chalet.

Chalet Jonquille is a lovely sunshiny chalet with beautiful surroundings, a wonderful retreat after delighting in the fabulous amenities of the Chamonix Valley.

The chalet is available year-round, but facilities, property and local amenities may vary depending upon season.

Winter | Ski Chalet

December - April

Nestled amidst the stunning scenery of the Chamonix Valley, Chalet Jonquille is a winter paradise. With its close proximity to the La Flegere ski lift, the largest pisted skiing area Les Grand Montets, and excellent ski storage space, it caters to skiing enthusiasts of all levels. After exhilarating days on the slopes, the chalet's cozy living area with a fireplace and spacious dining table becomes the perfect place to unwind. The four bedrooms, some with balconies and en-suites, offer a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere for winter retreats.

During the summer, Chalet Jonquille transforms into an ideal spot for outdoor enthusiasts. The Chamonix Valley offers not only spectacular skiing but also a range of activities such as mountain trekking, water sports, and hang-gliding. The sunny private garden becomes a delightful space for alfresco dining, and the proximity to Chamonix golf club adds to the summer allure. Chalet Jonquille has the perfect location to enjoy one of the most spectacular skiing terrains in Europe and the Les Grands Montets ski slopes are world renowned.

Thrill seekers and expert skiers frequent the Chamonix terrain in search of formidable pistes and Les Grands Montets has the reputation of one of the best off-piste ski areas in the Alps. 

Les Grands Montets offers excellent snow conditions and has slopes for every level.

There are three distinctive zones, the lower mountain area between Argentière Village and the main station of Lognan at 1972m, the mixed alpine terrain from Lognan to Borchard at 2765m and the steeper alpine terrain which includes the Argentière glacier up to 3275m.

Much of the area is above the tree line with the upper skiing areas located on a glacier, accessed by a second cable car, the views are stunning. Consisting of 8 main lifts with 2 gondolas, 2 cable cars and 4 chair lifts.

Chamonix offers novice and intermediate skiers some wonderful training slopes and Les Houches is perfect for beginners with its large upper plateau.
Overall there are 4 black runs, 13 red runs, 8 blues and 2 green runs.

There are lots of non-skiing activities to enjoy. Fabulous scenery, stunning landscapes, waterfalls and many paths to explore on foot or mountain bike makes the area a wonderful place to see throughout the year.

Not to be missed is the ‘Step into the Void’ attraction (Aiguille du Midi Skywalk),a glass room suspended 12,604 feet (3,842 meters) high on the summit of Aiguille du Midi Mountain. Reinforced by strong steel and set on the edge of a steep cliff, the transparent box offers unobstructed views of Europe’s highest peaks, with nothing but air below or for a different thrill you can book a tandem paragliding flight from a 3220m altitude.

The tree-top climbing Accro Adventure Park and rock-climbing crag in Lac des Gaillands are also excellent outside activities to enjoy.

Chamonix boasts many shops, bars and restaurants catering for every taste. Nestled in a valley at the crossroads of France, Italy and Switzerland with the backdrop of the jaw dropping Mont Blanc, it makes for a picture perfect apes-ski experience. It retains a traditional charm, particularly in the pedestrianised town centre. It boasts Victorian architecture and a pretty river. Après-ski starts early evening with delicious cocktails and an extensive beer selection.

The Resort

Chamonix is often preceded by its own reputation. As one of the most famous ski resorts in the world, it has visitors travelling from all corners of the world to experience the epic runs year after year. The Chamonix town centre, also known as Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, is an endlessly inviting little city with enough going on to entertain skiers and non-skiers alike for weeks on end. For those travelling from the UK, it is fabulously easy to reach. You can drive straight from Calais by motorway and be set up in a gorgeous chalet in less than half a day.

The Chamonix Valley encompasses five main ski areas on four different mountains (with easy transfers in between). You can get yourself a single-resort lift pass or one that encompasses the whole valley. If you go with the latter option you’ll even have access to the Italian side of the valley in Courmayeur. The wider area encompasses 106 pistes at up to 3842m altitude and unparalleled off-piste runs. 

Most of Chamonix’s ski areas are best suited to those who already feel at home on a pair of skis. Beginners definitely won’t get as much out of this valley as those who are comfortable tackling a black run. But that’s not saying Chamonix is unromantic by any means. There is incredible scenery for everyone to enjoy, from non-skiers to experts, and nature lovers will fall in love with the Chamonix in summer too. Ski season, however, often lasts until mid-March.

Once the skiing is over at the end of the day you’ll still find plenty to keep you occupied in town. There is an excellent selection of restaurants to choose from, ranging from Michelin starred fine dining to street food that will line your stomach for the après-ski (and rest assured there are dozens of great bars and clubs to choose from!)

Chamonix is an outstanding destination offering many activities for families, both in winter and summer. The ski resort boasts slopes suitable for all levels of skiers, complemented by excellent facilities for children. In addition to the winter wonderland, Chamonix transforms into a summer paradise with an array of exciting activities for kids.

Indoor activities are also available all-year. The sports centre offers ice skating and a swimming pool with a fun zone, including slides, rapids, and massaging jets. For a cultural experience, the Alpine Museum showcases the history of the Chamonix Valley, perfect for budding pioneers eager to learn about the beginnings of mountaineering and the first ascent of Mont Blanc.

If it's time to unwind, the Cinema Vox, Chamonix's multiscreen cinema, provides the latest blockbusters, with many films available in English. Chamonix truly becomes a year-round haven for families, ensuring that every season offers exciting adventures and unforgettable moments.

Winter
For the younger ones who are not yet ready for skiing, Chamonix offers delightful options. Toddlers can experience a taste of downhill excitement on the small slopes behind the tennis court or near the cross-country tracks. Sledging is also a summer delight, with dedicated slopes at Les Planards or the top of Prarion in Les Houches. Many ski hire shops provide sledges for sale or rent.

For an unforgettable experience, consider a husky ride, available every Wednesday (subject to snow conditions). Children from 8 years old can learn to drive their own sledge, while younger ones can enjoy the ride as passengers. Due to its popularity, advance booking is recommended.

Summer
During the summer months, Chamonix continues to cater to children of all ages. Several specialized summer camps and adventure programs are available, providing engaging activities such as rock climbing, hiking, and nature exploration. These programs offer half or full-day options, with childcare services and meals available for added convenience.

Chamonix's Alpine Coaster is a highlight for summer fun. Kids as young as 3 can enjoy the luge along the 1300m track at the Les Planards area. Unaccompanied rides are permitted from 7 years old, making it a thrilling adventure for the young ones.

Summer in Chamonix also offers unique adventures like Paret sledging for children aged 12 and above. Additionally, older kids can embark on a Deluxe Igloo and Fondue Adventure, featuring a 3km sledging track and a snowshoe hike to a real snow igloo for a traditional cheese fondue.

Educational opportunities abound in Chamonix during the summer. Families can explore France's largest glacier by taking the red cog Montenvers train to the historic station at the top. The journey unveils breathtaking views of the Mer de Glace glacier. Don't miss the ice cave carved into the glacier or the glaciorium and crystal gallery.

Terms & Conditions

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit A damage waiver is included in the rate to help you enjoy a peaceful stay. The waiver provides a limited damage cover in case of any damage to the property or its contents (except in the case of deliberate or reckless acts) up to the value of €1,000. Above €1,000 claims will be made to recoup the extra charges incurred to repair any damage.
Arrival time Check-in 4.00 PM.
Departure time Check-out 10.00 AM.
End of stay cleaning included? A service charge will be collected by Oliver's Travels before you travel. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit. For stays over 7 nights the service charge is £360 & for stays of less than 7 nights the service charge is £320.
Linen & towels included? Bed linen and bath towels are included in the rental price. Tea towels & beach towels are not supplied.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.

Insurance Guests are required to be in possession of a valid insurance policy, which covers them for cancellations, loss of personal belongings, personal liability and any accidental damage caused during their stay.
