This characterful chalet was constructed with reclaimed timbers taken from an old Russian farmhouse. The craftsmanship is magical and the chalet has the added benefits of a hot tub on the deck and good skiers being able to ski off piste to the front door through the forest. Even beginners only need to walk two hundred metres to the piste and the lift.

The chalet offers five glorious bedroom suites and enjoys upside down living with four of the bedrooms on the ground floor and the living spaces and one bedroom upstairs. It is a fabulous choice for large family groups or a group of friends.

La Tania is a picture postcard ski village which sits between Courchevel and Meribel with excellent access to the whole of the Three Valleys ski area. It is a small, welcoming village with a good range of bars, restaurants, shops, ski schools and kindergartens but at the same time its size makes it utterly charming and you are never far from the slopes or the village amenities. As well as downhill skiing and snowboarding, La Tania offers some other wonderful, fun activities including sledging, night skiing, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and paragliding. 

The ground floor of Chalet Elm is home to three beautiful twin bedrooms, each with their own en-suite shower room, the boot room with its heated boot driers plus there is a delightful double bedroom located in a separate annexe which is accessible via an external door at the side of the chalet.

Upstairs you will find the remaining twin bedroom suite and your fabulous living spaces. At the far end, you will dine in style on hearty breakfasts, afternoon teas and delicious evening meals. Doors open to a balcony and stunning snow capped trees and slopes.

What you should know…

  • One of the ground floor bedrooms is located in an adjoining annex with its own en-suite bathroom.
  • If you would like to discuss the catering options in full, please feel free to speak to our Concierge Team. Please decide on your options in good time so that your chalet can be pre-stocked with lots of delicious goodies.
  • If you are interested in the attached Chalet Hawthorn or the nearby Chalets Cedar, Akbash or Ash for other friends or family please let us know.
  • Experienced skiers can ski back to the chalet through the forest off piste. Otherwise there are three runs of all standards that take you back down to the village which is only 200m from the chalet.

The picturesque La Tania is a small, family friendly resort at 1400m, with excellent access to the whole of the Three Valleys’ impressive ski area. The resort is the newest, enjoying a good selection of shops, bars, restaurants, ski hire shops and ski facilities. 

As well as skiing, there is a good range of winter and summer entertainment in La Tania including snowshoeing, sledging, night skiing, cross country skiing through the trees, paragliding and much more. The entertainment of Courchevel and Meribel is easily accessible too. There is a good range of restaurants in La Tania for you to enjoy plenty of typical Savoyard cuisine as well as child friendly meals. 

La Tania itself has 38 snow cannons and four ski hire shops. The ski schools operating in La Tania are ESF, Supreme Ski and Snowboard School, Magic in Motion, New Generation, Ultimate Snowsports, Cab9, Momentum Ski and Ski Class so there is lots of choice. La Tania has a free beginners drag lift which is helpful for those first moments.

Chalet Elm is perfect for families or friends with children. Sleeping up to ten guests, it is big enough for two families. If you are a larger group, you could also book the adjoining Chalet Hawthorn and open the connecting door! The chalet is very well designed with a large entertainment space, ideal for family board games, chilling and watching a movie or large evening meals. The hot tub is very popular with children as well as adults!

La Tania is excellent for families with a kindergarten and creche and a good number of excellent ski schools. There is a free drag lift for beginners and a good range of slopes. As well as skiing, children can enjoy sledging, the usual snow ball fights, night skiing during the school holidays, bumboarding, soft play and much more. The centre of La Tania is pedestrian only which is very popular with families. There are a good range of restaurants serving child-friendly meals. 

Courchevel and Meribel are only ten minutes away in the car with some excellent activities for children. If your children are too little to ski all day, there is a free soft play centre under the Croisette building in Courchevel 1850. Also at 1850 and outside the Croisette, there are horses and ponies with their carriages waiting to take families on a ride around the resort. 

The Altiport area of Meribel is a lovely way to introduce children to the slopes. Its Moon Wild route is very gentle and children also love the themed areas and snowparks. Le P’tit Moon is a designated area for young skiers aged between six and twelve years old. If they are tired after morning ski lessons, there are some delightful picnic areas at the start of the Saulire Express and below the Pas du Lac gondola in Mottaret.

These terms and conditions may be amended from time to time.

Security deposit €2000 paid via bank transfer to the owner before arrival and refunded two weeks after departure, subject to full inspection.
Arrival time Check-in 5:00 PM.
Departure time Check-out 10:00 AM.
End of stay cleaning included? Yes, and mid stay cleaning with towel change. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or rubbish disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Linen & towels included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Energy costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Heating costs included? Yes, included in the rental price.
Changeover day Saturday.
Minimum stay 7 nights.

Tax French Visitors Tax (approx 4.4€ per person per day) payable with balance payment.
