Tucked among the undulating hills along the historic wine route of the Ribatejo, Villa Tabitha offers an idyllic spot for relaxing and rejuvenating, with 30 hectares of garden and just over an hour from the incredible city of Lisbon!

You are greeted by this majestic exterior, with the bold façade standing out beautifully among the leafy surrounds! The interiors echo the beautiful natural world outside, with vibrant décor and natural fabrics and textures throughout.

The lounge is uniquely styled, with exquisite attention to detail and entrancing patterns on the many incredible items of furniture, including a traditional fireplace. A fabulous dining area enjoys views across the countryside, as well as a great set of patio doors to one side which creates a warm, bright ambience.

There are three magnificent double bedrooms, each utterly unique but entirely charming. The first has a beautiful tiled wall, and adjoins a second lounge, as well as having a lovely balcony! The second also has a seating area with a well-stocked bookcase and plenty of windows for admiring the views!

And the final room is cosy and comfortable, with the same incredible views. There are three accompanying bathrooms, all of which are incredibly spacious, with one even enjoying balcony access! All have large showers while the third also has a beautiful bathtub for soaking your worries away.

In your 30-hectare garden, you have a myriad of options for relaxing, dining and enjoying this rural tranquillity! There are two separate dining areas, both experiencing plenty of sunshine and breath-taking views! Take a stroll through your sublime vegetable garden and pick up a few fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables for your meals.

We can even arrange for a local chef to come in and prepare meals for you if you’d like! Relax in a lounger beside the pool and enjoy a dip into its refreshing depths as you start to get a little toasty.

Just over an hour from Lisbon, you can make the most of this incredible rural location, as well as take in some of the incredible cities of Portugal!

The fascinating nearby Santarém offers visitors a great insight into a town once renowned as the strongest fortress in the kingdom! Its origins can be traced back to the Iron Age, and its cultural events and celebrations still attract large crowds today – including the ‘Feira de Ribatejo’, a 10-day agricultural fair abound with folk dancing, bullfights, bull-running and stalls of local produce!

Portugal itself is a small, fascinating country at the most Western point of mainland Europe. The capital, Lisbon, is known for its lively nightlife, with endless bars and clubs full of fun-loving locals and tourists alike, but also has plenty of fascinating history (check out Belém, jam-packed with monuments!) and undulating terrain, famously termed the ‘city of the seven hills’.

With a vast coastline that meets the mighty Atlantic Ocean, Portugal is a real paradise for the keen surfer, or indeed even those looking to try it for the first time, with plenty of surfing schools all along the calmer sections of the coast.

Of course, it is not only the world-famous waves but also the utterly pollution-free water, and the lack of deadly sharks found in warmer areas that put it so firmly on the map as the surfing Mecca of the world.

And even for those less keen on the idea of surfing, the beaches of Portugal are well worth a visit for their beautifully clear waters, and almost all have a bar at which you can enjoy a tipple. Other active pursuits include a sublime cycling trip through the undulating and picturesque scenery of Geres, or indeed white-water rafting on the river Douro!

And a scenic hike through the Natural Reserve of Peneda-Gerês, the Douro Valley and Serra da Estrela will allow you a real up close and personal experience with all kinds of wildlife. For those more into the gentle pace of golf, Portugal is a real haven, with 14 of the world’s top 100 best golf courses!

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
