Pape Touna is an 11th century Cistercian monastery, respectfully restored into six luxury apartments in a traditional Tuscan style. The rustic finish incorporates exposed brick work and wooden beams to create a sense of history which is inescapably affective as you embrace the landscape of the Val di Merse from the same hilltop as the monks did 1000 years ago.
Within this charming restoration each apartment offers a cosy living room complete with a fireplace, a fully equipped kitchenette and a bathroom with shower facilities. All rooms intentionally have no TV or air conditioning to maintain the traditional theme, but the thick walls maintain a pleasantly cool temperature all year round. Outside there is a beautiful stone courtyard with BBQ facilities, and a large private swimming pool offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Whether guests are lazing by the pool, tucked away in the cosy apartments or exploring the rich cultural history of Tuscany these apartments will be at the centre of an unforgettable holiday experience.

Weddings & Events Information
Ask a questionWith its panoramic views across the idyllic Tuscan landscape it’s easy to create a truly memorable event with every aspect of the occasion catered for within this peaceful hamlet.
There is a chapel in the vicinity for religious ceremonies or the nearby charming Gothic ruin of San Galgano Abbey might be the perfect venue for your ceremony. It is one of the most atmospheric settings in Tuscany and makes a magical backdrop for a wedding.
Wedding Reception
Up to 100 people can be hosted for the reception at the villa, starting in the area by the pool and moving onto the courtyard. For smaller groups, a reception of up to 45 people is possible in the two internal rooms in the courtyard.
Dancing and music can continue outside by the pool, on the porch or in the courtyard until midnight, or until 2am inside the villa. To have music outside from midnight to 2am will be an extra charge, please enquire.
Wedding Ceremony
A symbolic ceremony is possible on-site at any of the above locations.
There is a chapel nearby that is available for religious ceremonies. A civil ceremony could be held at the abbey 6km from the venue.
The owners are able to provide the details for an English-speaking celebrant.
Where to Stay
Up to 24 adults (plus 4 children on request) can sleep at the property.
Accommodation could be found for up to 50 guests nearby, within 8km of the property.
The owners are able to supply details of local transport firms.
Wedding Planning
The owner would be the event planner taking care of all necessary planning in-house.

Outdoor music hours can be extended from midnight 2am with an extra fee.
