Set among olive groves and flowering gardens in the Chianti countryside, Relais Olivaire is a beautifully restored early nineteenth-century farmhouse offering privacy, space and a thoughtful blend of traditional Tuscan character and contemporary comfort. Arranged as two adjoining lodgings, the property sleeps up to ten adults across five bedrooms, making it well suited to extended families or groups of friends travelling together.
Inside, guests will find two welcoming living areas with fireplaces, two fully equipped kitchens and carefully chosen furnishings that complement the farmhouse’s stone walls, timber details and terracotta floors. Air conditioning runs throughout, while streaming-enabled televisions, high-speed Wi-Fi and quality audio systems add modern convenience.
Each lodging opens onto its own terracotta patio, furnished for outdoor dining and relaxed evenings with a barbecue. Around 20 metres away, the private salt-chlorinated swimming pool is framed by loungers, parasols and views across the surrounding valley. Beyond the pool, guests are free to explore the estate’s gardens, meadows and centuries-old olive groves, or simply settle into the unhurried pace of rural Tuscany. Florence, Siena and many of Chianti’s historic towns and wineries are all within easy reach by car.
- As Relais Olivaire comprises two adjoining, self-contained lodgings rather than one entirely open-plan home, the property may not be suitable for larger groups with younger children, and careful consideration should be taken when planning room arrangements.
- The property is not suitable for guests with limited mobility due to stairs and features associated with the historic building.
- The private swimming pool is not heated or fenced, so children should be supervised closely when playing in the pool.
- A car is strongly recommended for shopping, sightseeing and exploring the wider Chianti region. However, a scenic walk through the property’s upper olive grove leads to the hamlet of Romita and, about 300 meters further on, the excellent Ristorante La Fattoria.
- Security cameras monitor the parking area, rear courtyard and agricultural storage areas, but not the interiors, patios or poolside.
- As with many rural holiday homes, wasps and other insects may occasionally be present due to the abundance of flowers and wildlife on the grounds.
- An outdoor nebulising mist system uses essential oils and insecticide to reduce mosquitoes and wasps in the main outside areas of the property.
