In a prime position in the countryside, between Sorrento and Positano, Li Galli View enjoys the best of both worlds being so close to all that this part of the Amalfi coast has to offer.
Despite the rural setting, it’s just a short stroll to a small grocery store and there is also a simple family restaurant within walking distance as well as tennis courts at a local hotel about 500m away. Further restaurants, shops and a supermarket can be found around 3km away in the outskirts of Sorrento - Piano di Sorrento.
Drive out of your electric gate and within 200m you are on the main road that connects Sorrento to Positano and the rest of the Amalfi coast. You can reach the heart of historic Sorrento in around 15 to 20 minutes. It is such a beautiful town, loved by visitors from across the world due to its historic charm and mesmerising vistas. Admire old churches, pretty squares, lovely restaurants and steep lanes filled with delightful shops. Boat trips depart Sorrento for tours along the Amalfi coast, day trips to Positano (if you don’t want to drive) and to the wonderful island of Capri.
In the other direction, you can be soaking up the romance of Positano in about 25 minutes by car. It is such a special place with its incredible scenery and gorgeous little beaches. It can get busy in the height of the summer so arrive as early as you can, especially when travelling by car.
A little further along the coast is the enchanting village of Praiano, less visited than Positano but still with so much charm, or continue onwards towards Fiordo di Furore and Conca dei Marini, two further highlights of this part of the coastline.
If you love walking then there are hikes in the immediate area around Monte Vico Alvano or find beautiful trails close to Sorrento with lemon fields, olive groves and old mule tracks. One of the Amalfi coast’s most famous mountain paths with spectacular views is between Agerola and Positano, Il Sentiero Degli Dei (The Path of Gods).
Keen historians can also spend the day at Pompeii or Herculaneum, perhaps combined with a visit to mighty Mount Vesuvius. If you are wanting to experience the buzz of Naples then think about taking one of the summer ferries from Sorrento, a glorious way to arrive in the vibrant city.
