Both elegant and characterful, Isole Delle Sirene is set in the hills between Positano and Sorrento, enjoying glorious sea-views out towards the mesmerising Li Galli Islands.

Part of a large estate yet in a private position, this is the owner’s main holiday residence thus decorated with the most beautiful style and with great comfort in mind. Built into the hillside out of local rock, every detail has been thought of when carefully designing the interiors of this charming home from the colourful fabrics across the six pretty bedrooms to the personal touches such as antique furnishings, ceramic works of art as well as handsome prints, all show-casing the best of this wonderful region of Italy.

Downstairs is the welcoming living room with satellite TV and the newly renovated kitchen with its delicately tiled floor. Doors open up to a delightful pergola, the perfect place for morning coffee and pastries as you listen to the birdsong. A second garden patio is ideal for al-fresco dining for up to 12 guests whilst upstairs you can gaze out to the sea and islands from the spacious first-floor terrace.

There are five bedrooms in the main villa, all with en suite bath or shower rooms, including a grand master bedroom on the ground floor with lovely garden views. Furthermore, around 50m away, a pretty annexe offers space for three more guests with its double/twin and living area with a sofa-bed.

The gardens are simply glorious with a gorgeous swimming pool set amongst the olive trees as well as sweetly scented summer flowers, vast lawns for children to play on and a vegetable garden where guests can help themselves to whatever may be in season. Enjoy the sunshine as you relax by the trailing bougainvillea or take a stroll along the path up to the swimming pool, catching glimpses of the sea through the Mediterranean plants, cacti and trees.

Despite this countryside setting, there’s a small grocery store and family restaurant within walking distance as well as a hotel with tennis courts. There are many hikes close by with Monte Vico Alvano so near or discover wonderful walks near Sorrento through lemon groves and vineyards, often along former mule tracks.

You can be enjoying orange and almond flavoured gelato on a picturesque terrace in Sorrento in around 15 to 20 minutes or join the coastal road to nearby Positano to appreciate its romantic ambience and stunning scenery. Look out for boat trips to the island of Capri, sea-kayaking tours along the Amalfi coast and idyllic little beaches, many with summer lidos for sun-bed and umbrella hire.

Not to mention the incredible Mount Vesuvius and fantastic sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum which can be easily visited for an amazing day out.
