Overview
Get back to nature with a holiday in Villa Oasis Rhodes, a Tuscan style villa in the heart of the Greek countryside, in the exclusive village of Koskinou. This stunning semi-detached villa has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, and can comfortably accommodate up ten guests, ideal for a family holiday, or friend’s get together.
Built partly with local stone, and partly burnt sienna brick, the villa has a separate entrance with parking spaces for up to four cars, and comes with complimentary Wi-Fi and air-conditioning throughout. The villa is set in a large formal garden with mountain views, verdant green lawns, and is surrounded by vineyards, and a small forest, which gives it a sense of privacy and seclusion. Villa Oasis Rhodes has been thoughtfully designed and furnished throughout by the owners, using local craftsmen and materials, to create an authentic and stylish home-from-home vacation villa. The colour palette is one of white and beige neutrals, with splashes of traditional Mediterranean blues and sunshine lemon highlights.
Enter the villa through your own private entrance to a holiday of open plan living. The seating area has a neutral beige wrap around L-shaped sofa, with wood and white coffee tables, a flat screen television, and an enclosed glass fronted wood burner for those cooler months and evenings. The adjacent dining area has a round white dining table and five chairs, and an upright piano, perfect for some indoor entertaining. The white and brick country style kitchen is fully equipped with everything you will need to cater for you holiday, including an island preparation station with hob, a family size fridge freezer, the obligatory morning coffee maker, and if you feel inclined there’s a bread making machine too.
Take the marble stairs up to the first floor, where you will find four spacious light and airy double bedrooms, all with walk-in closets, and garden view furnished balconies. The rooms are decorated in cool white with floaty net bed and window drapes, with touches of blue and yellow, dressed with three hundred cotton thread count linen, and Egyptian cotton embossed hand and bath towels. Three of the rooms have double beds, and one has two twin beds. There are three large marble bathrooms, with either walk-in or sit-in showers. A separate studio apartment is home to the fifth double bedroom, its own living area, kitchen and bathroom, and private patio.
Villa Oasis Rhodes is set in its own well-maintained grounds, with gorgeous green lawns, and a private pool with a shallow end for easy entry and safe for young children to play and splash. The pool is surrounded by sun loungers, and a turquoise blue soft seating area where you can relax and enjoy a morning coffee or sundowner at sun set. Location
About the surrounding area of Oasis RhodesOasis Rhodes is located in the exclusive residential area of Koskinou, in the north of the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes. Rhodes is the jewel in the crown of the Dodecanese Islands, set in the Southern Aegean Sea, Greece. The villa is just eleven kilometres from Rhodes’ Diagaros International airport, a short twenty minute journey away. Just a short away there are local mini markets for daily provisions and cute cafes for a morning coffee and evening retsina. Whilst the main road of Leoforas Lindou Street, which cuts across the island from north to south, is within a few minutes drive, which will get you anywhere you would like to go.
There are five famous beautiful family-friendly beaches within a three kilometre radius, starting with Faliraki at 2km, then Oasis, Kalithea, Kokkina, and the furthest away Agia Marina at 2.7km. Local sights that are just a short drive from the villa include Kalithea Springs, Rhodes Waterpark, Rodini Park, Diagoras Stadium, Andreas Papandreou Park, and the Acropolis of Rhodes. Some of the very best sight seeing can be done for free and on two legs with the many and varied walks in nature. The area is surrounded by trails and treks or go further afield on some guided walks around the island to discover the breadth of the indigenous flora and fauna. Rhodes really is a walker’s island with almost 14 000 square kilometres to explore, through forests, up mountains, discovering ancient sites, and maybe stopping at a welcoming village taverna to sample the local wine, honey, and herbs, along the way.
The ancient town of Rhodes is seven kilometres from the villa, and well worth a visit. The old town of Rhodes has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and as you wander the narrow lanes, old streets, and fortifications you’ll see why. Rhodes’ history has been influenced by the Knights of St John, and Venetian and Ottoman conquests. Don’t miss a visit to the Palace of the Grand Masters, the Castle of Monolithos, the Suleyamniye Mosque, the Archaeological Museum, the Museum of Modern Greek Art, and the many ornate churches, and count the eleven gates as you make your way around the old town. If you can’t pound the pavements, you can take a Segway tour, or stop for refreshment in a traditional taverna and sip an ouzo as you watch the world go by.
For the adventurous rent a quad bike, or join a jeep safari and take a tour of the island, climb aboard a high-speed boat to the lovely island of Lindos, or relax with a spot of fishing at Makarounas. If fishing isn’t your thing, you can admire a myriad of marine creatures indoors at the Aquarium of Rhodes. And for those who really want to go further afield, get island hopping and take the Rhodes ferry to far flung places, including crossing continents to the cosmopolitan town of Fethiye on the Turkish Turquoise coast.

The Island/Getting There
Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese Islands of Greece. It’s got a lot of history as it’s been invaded a lot by the Persians, Carians, Ottomans, Italians, and Germans.
Average temperatures go from 20’c in April up to 30’c in July/ August and down to 20’c in November. With an average of 85 rainy days a year they get sunshine for around 280 days.
The island is 90km long with Rhodes town at the northern tip. The airport (Rhodes International Airport "Diagoras") is also in the North (15km from Rhodes Town). Charter flights and Easyjet operate direct from the UK all season and out of season (Nov-March) you’d need to fly via Athens.
The Acropolis – The Acropolis that sits high above the town of Lindos is absolutely amazing and is a must see if you’re looking for some of the best views in all of Rhodes. One thing I should mention is that the climb up to the acropolis requires you to be somewhat active and able to climb stairs, lots of them. The trail begins through town and slowly but surely starts to get steeper as you climb the hill towards the acropolis. Once there, you’re rewarded with historical buildings dating back to 300 BC. Our Villa Corteau sit just underneath the ruins.
Rhodes has over 40 beaches, here are a few:
- Anthony Quinn’s Bay – Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the most beautiful bays. The bay is located 17km (10 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and offers some incredible photo opportunities to say the least.
- The beach at Anthony Quinn’s bay is one of the best beaches in Rhodes. Get there early if you want to snag a sunbed and umbrella and enjoy wading around the bright blue and green water. Amazing!
- For the best views of Anthony Quinn’s Bay from above, head on up to the windy road that leads up the hill just north of the bay and you’ll find a spot where you can sit and enjoy the virtually 180 degree views of Rhodes and its coastline.
- Tsambika Beach (or Tsampika) – Tsampika beach is located 30km (18 mi) south of Old Town Rhodes and is a great place to spend the day in the sun. Note: Beware there is a small section where nudists congregate on Tsampika beach
- Lakido Beach – Just opposite Anthony Quinn’s Bay is Lakido beach. It’s literally 3 minutes walking distance from Anthony Quinn’s bay so visiting both beaches in a day is totally doable. As a matter of fact, I would highly recommend visiting both if you get the chance
- Faliraki Beach – One of the most popular tourist spots on the island of Rhodes. It was known for 18-30’s holiday in the 90-2000’s but I don’t think there is that market so much now. It is quite commercialised now there are water sports and a few diving schools.
How to reach Rhodes island
There are two ways to reach Rhodes Island: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: If you don’t want to lose time you can fly to Rhodes (RHO) from Athens. The flight lasts 1 hour. Many direct flights also operate from many European countries, so it will not be difficult to arrive there.
By ferry: If you choose to travel from Piraeus to Rhodes with a ferry, it will surely take you much longer but travelling with a ferry in the summer nights can be pretty enticing! The port of Rhodes is located in the southern part of the island and offers bus services to the town centre. You can easily book your ferry tickets using the link below or the booking engine.
Kids
Best Suited For: All AgesThere’s lots to keep your younger ones occupied with a stay at Villa Oasis and the historic island of Rhodes. Starting with the villa itself, the private pool has a shallow end, and is perfect for a day of swim, splash, and play, and when it’s your own there’s no set hours. The grounds of the villa are spacious, with green lawns, and old trees in the local mini forest, where they can run free. The nearest beach is Falariki, a short two kilometre drive away with its golden sands and warm easy entry Aegean Sea water. The coastline is peppered with child-friendly beaches, most offering sun loungers and parasols, local cafes and tavernas, and some with water sports for your older and more adventurous kids.
There’s no shortage of parks in Rhodes, the nearest is Rodini, just four and a half kilometres from the villa, where you can take a walk in nature, cross water over picturesque bridges, chase butterflies, see a turtle or two, do a spot of bird watching, not to mention spying a peacock in all its glory. No trip to Rhodes is complete without a family away day at sea, all aboard a boat for a jolly on a shared or chartered yacht, discovering secret coves and beautiful bays in which to swim and snorkel. Island hop to lovely local Lindos, or spend the day on Symi with its neoclassical architecture. If it’s adrenalin adventures they are after, join a Rib Cruise, take to the sea on a catamaran cruise, or go underwater on a submarine. For the thrill seekers take your teenagers to the local parasailing, kitesurfing, jet ski, paddle boarding, scuba diving, and sea kayaking clubs. Back to dry land and wheels, with a Trikke Tour, an historic electronic bike whizz around Rhodes old town, or ride the more sedate retro e-bike photo stop tour, or maybe have some fun aboard a Segway. Join a 4 x 4 jeep safari for some family fun time, with a trip around the island, discovering the natural flora and fauna, and traditional Greek villages. A day discovering the old town of Rhodes is well worth a family visit, wandering through the stone streets, climb the fortifications, and enjoying a traditional Greek dinner in a local taverna. Discover the history of Rhodes in the Palace of the Grand Masters, visit Monolithos Castle, and the other many museums, including the Toy Museum, or take the hop-on hop-off bus tour to see all the ancient sites, and make sure you don’t miss the Windmills of Mandraki at the harbour. Try out the Throne of Helios for a thrilling 3D experience. Nearby is the fabulous Faliraki Water Park, with huge pools and lots of slippery slides for some family fun in the sun. If it’s a dull day take them to the Aquarium of Rhodes, and see the sea life indoors. Out of town there’s the must-see Butterfly Valley, see butterflies flutter by in a six hundred acre nature park and walking trails of dense local flora and fauna.

Everything was perfect. It's a very nice and tidy house. Tina was the perfect housekeeper, she welcomed us with a drink and a serving.
-
Really nice property
Fantastic host of the property - you won't find better! Super sweet and helpful in recommending fantastic restaurants, beaches and experiences. We were there while there were forest fires to the south but felt nothing. The host was very good at informing and reassuring us. Good beds and conditions in general. Quiet and peaceful neighborhood. All in all, a really nice place.
If it has to be a minus, it was that the swimming pool was not as big and deep as expected. But otherwise there is nothing negative about this experience.
-
Large, clean and bright House
Large, clean and bright House, well equipped with all you need to live comfortably. The garden with a little vineyard, a pool and a beautiful garden, is very well kept. As you need to rent a car if you want to visit the island, the position is very good. The host is amazing, so welcoming and caring. She gives lots of very good tip for all your needs (restaurants, shops, markets, place to visit and many others). She makes you feel at ease as you were at home. Definitely the right place to stay in Rhodes!

A lovely house
We were a group of 7 adults & 4 children and we enjoyed a week in Koskinou. A lovely house and the hostess Tina is incredibly friendly and wonderful! The swimming pool was nice for both children and adults. The kitchen has a good setting for cooking and it was nice to spend time outside.

Lovingly appointed Oasis Rhodes
Lovingly appointed Oasis Rhodes with 5 air-conditioned bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The pool invites you to swim after a hot day and the kitchen leaves nothing to be desired. Also, Tina does a great job advising on restaurants, beaches and other tourist destinations.
