The beautiful Villa Erato is one of a pair of stunning villas, located just above the bustling town of Agia Marina. Modern and stylish throughout, with contemporary architecture and luxurious furnishings, all designed to provide you with the maximum comfort possible. The building frames the views, creating a new, remarkable outlook from every room and a panorama from the terrace. Sleeping four guests, this is the perfect escape for a small family or group of friends, or should you choose to travel in a larger group, Villa Clio, the twin property, sleeps a further four guests!
As soon as you enter there is a wave of calm, with stylish living areas gracefully leading from one room to another, maintaining a constant view of the ocean. On the ground floor, an open-plan kitchen, dining and living space is the heart of the home, with walls made of glass, the barrier between the interior and exterior is practically non-existent, making it hard to decide if you are inside or out! However, for cosy evenings in, blinds can be pulled down to create a more enclosed feel. The kitchen is sleek and stylish, with all the modern appliances you need to prepare delicious meals and a breakfast bar encouraging all the guests to gather around as the nominated chef works their magic!
On the ground floor there is a twin bedroom and a separate modern bathroom. The double bedroom can be found upstairs, accessed by an elegant, feature staircase and boasting an en-suite bathroom and stunning roof terrace! The layout is well designed, with space for everyone to enjoy their own privacy, as well as social moments together.
As well as the elegant interiors, Villa Erato has been designed with outdoor living in mind. As soon as you step outdoors, the glittering private pool sets the scene for lazy days in the sunshine, finishing off your favourite summer read! With a barbecue and outdoor dining space, as well as relaxed seating and a luscious lawn, there is room for everyone to spread out, creating unforgettable memories!

About the surrounding area of Villa EratoNestled in a quiet area of Agia Marina, the villa is located near to the town bustling centre and beautiful beaches. It is the ideal spot to listen to the sounds of the sea from your window and take in the spectacular view to the Cretan Sea and the surrounding area. The villa is within easy reach of the charming village of Agia Marina. A welcoming village with a wide range of taverns, shops, bars and restaurants, a bustling centre full of activity and entertainment.
Chania is only 8km away from Agia Marina and not to be missed. You can marvel at the enchanting Venetian Harbour and stop at numerous beautiful small towns and villages whilst on route. A city, that has seen many civilisations come and go over thousands of years of settlement, from Minoans to Romans, Byzantine to Ottoman, this rich history has carved out a unique and mysterious town.
Most of the restaurants, museums, churches and craft shops centre around the gorgeous Venetian harbour, which represents a window into the past Turkish and Venetian architecture that has otherwise largely been destroyed by war. Watching the sunset past the old lighthouse is a truly unmissable experience, but the area offers a different picturesque aesthetic at any given time of day.
The dramatic, mountainous interior of Crete is also well worthy of exploration, remaining unspoilt and largely unchanged for hundreds of years. Incredible churches, and sleepy little villages are hidden round every bend as you wind your way across the sun-baked landscape.
Be sure to sample the fresh fish they pull in from the harbour each day, or even take a boat out and do some fishing or snorkelling yourself!

How to reach Chania
There are two ways to reach Chania: either by flight or by ferry.
By plane: Chania Airport (CHQ) is only a 20 minutes ride away from central Chania. During the summer months, frequents overseas and domestic flights are performed. In most of the cases, there are available buses that connect Chania city and most of the villas. You can also hire a car from one of the many rental companies at the airport, or alternatively get a taxi to bring you right to your doorstep.
By ferry: If you choose to do an island-hopping trip and use the ferry as a method of transportation, then the closest port is in Souda, only 8km from the centre of Chania. Only ferries from Piraeus in Athens or Heraklion in Crete. Heraklion port has a wider choice: you can also take a ferry from other Greek islands like Santorini, Mykonos or Paros, but you will have to take a longer bus ride to reach your villa. Made for a really enjoyable stay!
The service from Oliver's Travels team was very efficient. Villa Erato was really good, it was a real gem. It was far away from the main road to be quiet and secluded but all the facilities you would need, and the beach, were a short walk away. I must compliment the villa manager, who came to meet us to make sure our stay was the best it could be, and the staff who serviced the villa who were very friendly, efficient and made our holiday stay very easy and enjoyable. Perfect!
