Book Now & Grow Green: 3 Trees Planted with Every Booking!

This Earth Day, join our mission to plant 3 trees for every booking made between April 22nd - 28th, 2024. Let's make a sustainable impact together! Learn more about our journey here >>

Sitting in an idyllic spot on the shores of Boukari bay, looking over to Corfu town you will find the fabulous Villa Alexis.  With its own private pool and beach, it offers great modern facilities in a traditional Greek style for up to 8 guests of all ages.  The accommodation provided is all on one level, making it ideal for all, from the smallest of children to those with mobility issues.

You access the charming living space from the centre of the magnificent flagstone terrace which overlooks the sea. You enter into a comfortable lounge with large shuttered doors opening onto the terrace, filling the room with light by day but giving an extra cosy feel to the area when closed and you are sitting by the large log fire of an evening after the sun has gone down.  The fully equipped kitchen laid out in keeping with the traditional charm of the area also has a large dining area which you may find you don’t use when you see the stunning area outside.  There are two double bedrooms, one with ensuite and doors opening onto the terrace, a twin room and a room with bunk-style beds for children. All beautifully furnished and with ample storage space.

There are two further bathrooms within the property. An absolutely stunning feature window in the main bathroom ensures full advantage can be taken of the sunlight, whilst ensuring your total privacy.  Why not run a bath, or better still have someone run it for you, have some rose petals from the garden scattered on the surface of the water, and lie and enjoy a glass of something fizzy before heading out for dinner.

In the middle of the terrace, looking out over the sea is a fabulous seating and dining area. Large comfortable sofas and a tiled dining table are set out underneath an incredible grapevine covered pergola.   Imagine sitting here for breakfast in the early summer when the blossom is out soaking up the delicate scent or enjoying the fruit later in the season.

The villa’s private secluded swimming pool is set a few steps down from the terrace; loungers strategically placed both to enjoy the full sun or shade from some of the ancient olive trees.

Whilst they are tucked away from your view, this small complex has another two villas and a tiny 16th century Orthodox Chapel nearby.  All of this set amongst an olive grove of some 900 trees, and can be booked together for bigger parties or events.

You will be mesmerised by the emerald sandy coves, multifarious consecutive bays with pebbles, crystal clear waters, and completely secluded beaches.  Such idyllic places for romantics here in Agia Pelagia.

The area around Boukari bay is renowned for the fabulous traditional food served at the many small Tavernas dotted along the coastline, seafood being particularly exceptional.  Rick Stein even featured this area on his Mediterranean Escapes programme; it must be special! There are enough of these fabulous Tavernas within walking distance to eat at a different one each evening of your stay – I would recommend taking a torch for the walk home, it gets so dark after the sun goes down.

Agia Pelagia is in the unspoiled south of the island away from the main tourist spots.  It has beautiful beaches, particularly if you pop across to the other side of the island, a mere 10 minutes by road will take you to perhaps the most beautiful beach on the island, Issos.  Issos is particularly fabulous for water sports due to its slightly windier aspect than Boukari.  Windsurfing and kitesurfing are very popular here, and it is a great spot for beginners should you want to try something new and adventurous right on your doorstep.

No trip to the south of Corfu would be complete without a trip to the beautiful postcard-perfect island of Paxos, Anti Paxos and the blue caves.  Paxos has been voted one of the ten most beautiful islands in the world.  Hire your own boat or book yourself a seat on an organised day trip.

After a hard day of sunbathing, water sports or visiting one of the many beautiful traditional villages, how wonderful it is to be able to kick back and relax at your delightful holiday villa listening to the water lapping the shore and taking in the twinkling lights of Corfu town across the bay.

The Island/Getting There

One of the largest and greenest of the Ionian Islands, Corfu is far more than its trademark blue-hued seas and sandy coastline. With its UNESCO World Heritage status and unbeatable strolling opportunities, there is no better place to start exploring than the main town and its historic old quarter, where ancient churches, scattered ruins and a handful of museums mean Corfu’s layers of history can be found just about everywhere. And if you’re in need of a cosy abode, take a look at our flawless villas in Corfu.

How to reach Corfu island

There are two ways to get to Corfu island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane: During April to October, several direct flights arrive to "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Airport from Europe as Corfu is one of the most popular travel destinations in Greece. During these months, the airport also receives many domestic flights every day from Athens and Thessaloniki.

By ferry: Travelling by ferry is the most popular way of transport in Greece. Ferries to Corfu depart from Patra and Igoumenitsa. If you are travelling from Europe, Corfu is easily accessible by ferry from Venice, Bari, Brindisi or Ancona too. You can easily book your tickets using the link below or the search engine - the port you are looking for is "TBC".

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages
Ideal for Kids Ideal for Teens

Villa Alexis is a simply fabulous place to take children on holiday, children of all ages can have the time of their lives without you having to trail around seeking entertainment for them.

Not only is the villa perfectly appointed with no stairs, a bedroom with exciting beds all to themselves, there is also the wonderful swimming pool in the garden and the beach right on their doorstep.  Perhaps even better than that for younger adventurers are the 900 fabulous gnarled olive trees in your ‘back garden’ grove to run around in and play hide and seek or cowboys and Indians! What better way to tire them out and keep them out of the sun for a while?
The terrain around this side of the island is absolutely perfect for cycling with the added bonus that the roads are relatively quiet.  Cycling to lunch at a nearby village will surely tire them out to ensure you can have a relaxing evening.

The beaches and sandy bays are ideal for messing about in the water whilst gaining confidence.  With little in the way of waves and shallow clear waters, a snorkel and a pair of flippers will allow them to see the wonders of the underwater world first hand without fear.

For slightly older children you might want to take a day trip, Corfu town is most definitely worth a visit.  The Corfiots are very family orientated and love children.  With its narrow cobbled streets, there are history lessons around every corner, pavement café’s and of course fabulous shopping for the little ladies! Everyone will get some fun from your visit. Perhaps a late afternoon visit is best after the heat of the day is past.  Aqualand is not far off your route, starting your day out there would be great fun for all with attractions, slides and rides to suit all ages.
