Theodore Lodge offers a cosy hilltop hideaway, your own private oasis overlooking the Ionian Sea. As you approach the lodge, it seems to sit nestled into the hillside, with natural plants and vines weaving their way across the red earth coloured walls and around the elegant pergolas that surround the property. This cosy setting is quickly juxtaposed by the openness of the views, with the terrace widening out to maximise your exposure to the glistening Ionian Sea.

From the moment you arrive, the charm and elegance of the lodge is impossible to ignore, with tranquil living areas spread over two spacious and bright floors. On the lower ground floor, the villa offers two double bedrooms plus a single bunkbed in one ideal for small families, both with en-suite shower rooms, charming window shutters and access straight out to the pool area. Both bedrooms are simple and relaxed, offering everything you need to settle down each night, enjoying the joy of having nothing to do the next day! For families of up to six two extra beds can be added for children/ teenagers.

Upstairs the villa opens out into social living spaces, with panorama views to the horizon. The main space is open-plan, with a fully-equipped kitchen, communal dining area and a cosy lounge. Deep sofas and a fireplace add a warm, homely nature to this bright and airy space, perfect for quiet moments indoors when you need a break from the hot summer sun. With a second sitting area, that can be separated by sliding doors should you prefer, everyone can enjoy their own space, spreading out throughout the lodge to enjoy time alone as well as the all-important time as a group.

Everything about this lodge draws you outside, where the property opens out towards the views, drawing your gaze to the ever-changing landscape of the sea. Directly in front of the villa, a pergola juts out over a dining space, where you can sit in the dappled light sipping a cocktail or share a meal as a group in the evening, soaking in every last minute of the warm climate. From here the infinity pool extends out, with Grecian steps leading down into the refreshing water, perfect for cooling off on hot summer days.

Theodore Lodge can be rented on its own or as part of the whole Theodore Estate; whether you are travelling as a small group or a large one, everyone can enjoy their own privacy, soaking in the sun and relaxing Grecian atmosphere. Follow the link for more information.

Theodore Lodge is located on a hilltop above the beautiful town of Nisaki, with breath-taking views across the Ionian Sea. The villa has its own entrance, terrace and swimming pool, a private retreat amongst this enchanting setting of Corfu Island.

Nisaki is a small town, nestled into the northeast coastline of Corfu. Well known as one of the most popular Greek Islands to visit, this fabulous island offers something for everyone, from quiet and peaceful towns, pristine beaches and coves to a lively nightlife and bustling restaurants.

Nisaki is known for its peaceful atmosphere, at times feeling like its own private island with little eateries and quiet shops, ideal for older couples and young families looking to escape the busier tourist towns. The picturesque streets and welcoming locals offer you a slice of traditional Greece, with restaurants serving up traditional recipes and freshly caught fish. Nisaki in Greek means “little island” and according to the locals it was once a small rocky island, which joined with the mainland of the village through the years!

The closest beach is Nisaki beach, just a 10-minute drive away from the lodge. With pebbled shores and clear seawater, this beach is popular for snorkelling, making it a great choice for families with little kids that want to explore beneath the water. Corfu is famous for its water sports, from the snorkelling in coves alike to Nisaki, as well as scuba diving from some of the bigger beaches – definitely worth a try during your stay! Kalami Beach, just 15-minutes further down the coast is also worth a visit, with its horseshoe-shaped beach and crystal-clear waters.

For young adults, the town of Kassiopi along the coast offers a livelier nightlife, with late-night bars and dancing for you to enjoy, a welcome change from the peaceful setting of the lodge.

Corfu Town, the capital of the island is also well worth a day trip, located a 40-minute drive from Nisaki. The town has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site, with a Venetian fortress and English Palace to explore alongside a fascinating history that will captivate your attention immediately. It is easy to wander the cobbled streets for hours, capturing photos of the pastel-coloured architecture and heritage features, before ambling into local coffee shops and lively restaurants, immersing yourselves in the enchanting atmosphere.

The Island/Getting There

One of the largest and greenest of the Ionian Islands, Corfu is far more than its trademark blue-hued seas and sandy coastline. With its UNESCO World Heritage status and unbeatable strolling opportunities, there is no better place to start exploring than the main town and its historic old quarter, where ancient churches, scattered ruins and a handful of museums mean Corfu’s layers of history can be found just about everywhere. And if you’re in need of a cosy abode, take a look at our flawless villas in Corfu.

How to reach Corfu island

There are two ways to get to Corfu island: either by flight or by ferry.

By plane: During April to October, several direct flights arrive to "Ioannis Kapodistrias" Airport from Europe as Corfu is one of the most popular travel destinations in Greece. During these months, the airport also receives many domestic flights every day from Athens and Thessaloniki.

By ferry: Travelling by ferry is the most popular way of transport in Greece. Ferries to Corfu depart from Patra and Igoumenitsa. If you are travelling from Europe, Corfu is easily accessible by ferry from Venice, Bari, Brindisi or Ancona too. Kids

Theodore Lodge offers private accommodation, perfectly suited to small families. Nestled into the trees the house has total privacy from the rest of the Theodore Estate, so whether you are renting the Lodge on its own or the two properties together, you can still enjoy your own privacy, ideal for families with kids.

Offering a large terrace with a private swimming pool, kids will be in heaven, playing games and splashing about it is often hard to get them back inside! The pool is not fenced, so younger kids will need to be supervised around the edge for their safety. Dining outdoors is popular with our younger guests, and you might even get them helping with the cooking once the barbecue comes out. The views are popular with even the smallest kids, with all the colours of the sea and the mountains behind steeling their attention for long periods of each day!

Inside, the Lodge boasts two double bedrooms, so young kids will feel like one of the adults as they sink down into the large beds. Upstairs the open-plan space is great for families, making it easy to keep an eye on kids whilst you occupy yourself with different things! With two lounges, both adults and children can enjoy time together and separate, watching movies and playing games of choice without disturbing each other every evening.

The Lodge is situated just a short drive from many of the local towns and beaches, so you never need to spend long in a car. However, if you are travelling with kids, having your own vehicle is a good choice, making it easy to navigate the island, heading to the most family-friendly beaches and teaching kids some of it’s fascinating history. Nisaki, where this villa is located, is a tranquil and family location, with local eateries that will welcome young visitors and a safe beach ideal for snorkelling – that kids will love!

Corfu is increasingly popular for family holidays and is one of the most popular Greek islands to visit. With plenty of beautiful beaches and an abundance of historical sites to discover, kids and adults will be in heaven. Water sports are a must, whether your kids choose snorkelling, scuba diving or the faster-paced banana boats, there is something for everyone, and they’ll love discovering the world beyond the island's coast. Boat trips are particularly popular for a whole family, offering something for everyone to enjoy and new places for everyone to see!

Everything was great. But view, service and pool are amazing. We had the opportunity to see the bigger villa. It's outstanding!

  • Beautiful property, wonderful view and great location

    on 30/06/2020

The villa was gorgeous and has unbeatable views. Location wise, it’s a good distance from the airport and close to some of our favourite restaurants, as well as the beautiful Nisaki beach. The hosts were brilliant, nothing too much trouble and attentive without being intrusive. We’ve booked to go back next year!

  • Superb

Our stay was extremely enjoyable and we all had a fantastic time. The villa overlooks the cost and is ideally located for nearby local amenities, resturant’s and beach activities. The staff are superb, and from our initial checkin to departure were always professional and supportive. This is a wee gem and we look forward to our next visits ASAP Ray and family
