Le Mas de Téjat is a joyful country home set on the edge of the small Dordogne village of Meyrals, close to Saint-Cyprien in the Périgord Noir. From the moment you arrive, the warmth of original stonework and contemporary styling invites you to unwind with family or friends. A short stroll brings you to the village with its restaurant and twice-weekly grocery van. Look out for the village’s Thursday morning market in July and August.
Inside, the house blends character with thoughtful touches. The open-plan living and dining room opens directly to the shaded terrace whilst the cosy kitchen and the fireplace add to the sense of home. Upstairs, discover four charming bedrooms and two bathrooms (one en suite) as well as another shower room downstairs. Meanwhile, modern amenities include fibre-optic Wi-Fi and a Smart TV in the lounge.
Set within private grounds, there’s a great sense of space outside. The 13-metre pool shimmers in the sunlight, flanked by a sun terrace and fun summer kitchen, complete with a vibrant bar, fridge-freezer, oven and dishwasher - perfect for lazy lunches or evening drinks after a day exploring the region. We also love the pergola with its al-fresco dining table and barbecue set beside the house.
Less than a 10-minute drive from Saint-Cyprien, with its bakery, butcher, Sunday market and lively eateries, and only 16km from the cobbled charm of Sarlat-la-Canéda, you're perfectly placed to enjoy the best of the Dordogne. The dramatic clifftop château of Beynac, river canoeing, prehistoric wonders at Les Eyzies and the world-renowned caves of Lascaux are all close by.
Whether gathering for meals beneath the pergola or venturing out to nearby villages and riverbanks, Le Mas de Téjat offers a wonderful base from which to experience life in the Périgord Noir.
