Le Petit Citronnier is a charming, beautifully renovated village house set right in the heart of the Provençal village of Maillane. The house retains its traditional Provençal feel, with exposed beams and stone throughout and original tiles carefully kept and repurposed wherever possible, preserving its character while introducing modern comforts.

Laid out across three floors, the interior balances charm and practicality with ease. On the ground floor, a bright open-plan kitchen and dining space is fully equipped for everything from simple breakfasts to long, sociable meals. Just opposite sits a cosy living area with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV. Upstairs, four bedrooms are spread across the first and second floors, offering flexible accommodation for families or mixed-age groups. A high-quality duct air-conditioning system provides both cooling and heating throughout the entire house, making it comfortable in summer as well as during the cooler seasons.

Outside, the landscaped garden feels like a private retreat despite the central village setting. A swimming pool, which retains its warmth well even when not heated, is surrounded by sun loungers, while the alfresco dining terrace and summer kitchen are perfect for long warm evenings. With shops, cafés and restaurants just steps away, and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence just a 10 minute drive away, Le Petit Citronnier is a welcoming, year-round base in the heart of Provence.

What Oliver loves...

  • Being able to walk everywhere, with shops, restaurants, a bakery and bars just steps from the front door
  • Maillane’s location, making it easy to explore the very best of Provence, from Saint-Rémy-de-Provence to the Alpilles and the surrounding vineyards
  • The care and attention that’s gone into the renovation, with original features preserved and owners who are attentive, welcoming and happy to share local recommendations

What you should know

  • Le Petit Citronnier is ideally suited to six adults and two children (or up to eight adults if happy to share bathrooms). Please note that the second-floor shared bathroom features a sloped ceiling and includes a small bath better suited to children (though usable as a shower for adults). An outdoor shower by the pool is also available.
  • Le Petit Citronnier enjoys a lovely central village location, placing you right in the heart of local life. As with many village homes, we simply ask guests to be mindful of noise levels and respectful of neighbours during their stay.
