Walk to Village

Set on the edge of a pretty Provençal village, Les Deux Oliviers is the perfect place to unwind, close to the beautiful scenery of Les Alpilles and within a short drive to one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages', Les Baux de Provence.

Les Deux Oliviers’ décor is a stylish blend of traditional and modern. Classic roof tiles and white plaster mean the exterior fits in with its natural surroundings. Inside, contemporary artwork complements the minimalist design, giving it a light and airy feel. The open-plan living area is a huge space with a big comfortable sofa and large bay doors leading out to the terrace whilst the open-plan kitchen and dining area is ideal for sharing meals with family or friends.

The main villa has four bedrooms, each with double beds, some with en-suite bathrooms. Les Deux Oliviers also benefits from a fifth double bed in a separate open-plan studio, which is also equipped with a small kitchen, dining and living area as well as a bathroom.

There are also plenty of places to dine outside, whether it’s beneath the pergola or out on the terrace. The swimming pool is beautiful and inviting - at night-time the water lights up, and the lanterns dotted around begin to twinkle, creating a magical atmosphere perhaps best enjoyed with a glass of local wine.

When you are ready to see the sights, discover one of the many fantastic hiking routes, such as around Le Lagon Bleu or through the olive groves, orchards and woodland so typical of this region. Cycling, horse-riding and even rock-climbing are also popular pursuits across Les Alpilles Regional Nature Park.

If you fancy a change of scenery, artistic and historic Arles is filled with adventure. Marvel at Van Gogh’s fascinating past at the Fondation Vincent Van Gogh, a museum celebrating the great artist. Other historic sites to look out for include the 90AD Amphitheatre and the abbey ruins or head further south to explore the exhilarating landscapes of the Camargue.

Saint-Rémy-de-Provence is also full of charm, a 30-minute drive away, where you’ll find a wonderful weekly market. Avignon and Nimes are reachable within a 40-50 minute drive and are full of ancient landmarks and Roman treasures.

Situated on the edge of a charming Provençal village, Les Deux Oliviers is in a great location - so close to nature yet within walking distance to some charming places to eat. Fans of playing tennis can reach the local club within a ten-minute walk.

Les Baux-de-Provence is around a 10-minute drive away. As well as being one of France's 'Plus Beaux Villages', it's also full of historic sites including its impressive castle, Château des Baux, with sweeping views of the surrounding Les Alpilles landscapes.

It's also worth spending time in the lovely village of Maussane-les-Alpilles, around 1.5km away, with its gastronomic restaurants and a handful of shops, a village also known for its olive oil production.

The nearby area is full of further hidden gems. Drive just ten minutes to reach Le Lagon Bleu, a turquoise-coloured lake surrounded by foliage – a great hiking destination.

Drive around half an hour to reach Arles, which sits on the Rhône River. The beautiful city is known for inspiring Van Gogh’s paintings, some of which are displayed at Fondation Vincent van Gogh, a museum dedicated to the 19th-century artist. History lovers should head to the Arles Amphitheatre, built in ancient Rome in 90AD, to host chariot races and battles. Further south of the river sits the Camargue, a huge national park that spans across a vast lagoon as far as the shoreline.

Another great destination reachable within 30 minutes of driving is Saint-Remy-de-Provence, home to art galleries, studios and a charming weekly market on a Wednesday morning. Follow Van Gogh's footsteps once more and learn about his time at Saint-Paul de Mausole.

Two wonderful day trips full of history are to Avignon and Nimes, which take 40-50 minutes to reach by car. Avignon is an ancient city with medieval walls, a 12th-century bridge, and a 14th-century Pope’s palace, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. Learn more about the city's routes in one of its many museums, including the Calvet Museum, which contains art and artefacts. Nimes features an impressive 3-tiered Roman aqueduct, the nearby Pont du Gard, as well as a Roman temple and amphitheatre.
