Extremely helpful
Very friendly owner who allowed us into the property beforehand to put some oysters into the fridge, great start to our holiday.
He was extremely helpful. -
Delightful
Just a note to let you know how much I and the family were delighted by our stay at your wonderful Chateau. It was a real treat to enjoy the pool and grounds and to be able to walk into Brinon to the market, boulangerie and butcher, almost on a daily basis; everyone was thoughtful and kind, and we felt quite French! The Chateau itself is a gem, and we all believed ourselves very fortunate to partake of it's charm, and particularly admired your art. We became rather languid and did not tour as much as we intended, but got to Orleans and Chambord and had dinner in the surrounding area a number of times. All in all, a most enjoyable stay. Many thanks to you and your staff!

A delight!
This is a truly stunning property...what a find. The location cannot be faulted, plenty and I mean PLENTY of space within the chateau grounds and the property itself but also a very short walk into the village for meals. The owners too are delightful - we travelled in the midst of the pandemic as France was just placed onto the amber plus list the night before we left the UK - they could not have been more helpful and went above and beyond to ensure that we were well looked after. For them alone, they receive a great recommendation.
-
Wonderful - thoroughly recommend!
We have just returned from an amazing stay at Chateau Le Brun. The proprietor was charming and very helpful. Our party thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in a wonderful property which I can thoroughly recommend.
-
We have had another excellent holiday!
It felt like home as soon as we arrived. Laid back, and easy. We think it’s excellent value for money given the space and the private pool. The village being literally 2 mins walk away is a bonus too!!!
-
Amazing!
The accommodation suited us very well and the pool was a winner. Very quirky house.

Extraordinary holiday, great hosts
The Chateau is very spacious and authentic. The amenities range from table tennis, pool, bbq to a spa bath, sunken bath and open fire. Super access to village and shops. The owners are very helpful and kind. They are on hand to give advice on where to shop, how to fix the car, where to take a child to hospital- everything and anything. I cannot praise them highly enough. I have booked for next year again already. This is the perfect rental property for those seeking true French culture.

A magical place!
The Chateau was more than what I expected. A magical place to step back in time. The chateau was thoughtfully decorated, each and each bedroom was amazing. Loved the living room fireplace, it was perfect when it was cold. The outside area by the pool, the pool, and BBQ area was wonderful. The outside park that the house looked out onto was beautiful. I was able to see deer twice. It was so nice to listen to the crickets, birds and a woodpecker every night. The owner was fabulous and so was the housekeeper. The village was quaint with a wonderful butcher. We bought rabbit, steak, sausage and even lamb sausage from him and barbecued it on the BBQ. The village baker was wonderful and on Wednesday night there is a pizza truck by the church that makes delicious pizza. You are away from the hustle and bustle but only 18 km away from 2 small towns that are fun to explore. We used this chateau as our base to explore the Loire Valley for 9 days.

Highly Recommended
Excellent and very up beat welcome from the owner who provided valuable information about the Chateau and the locality. Visited local restaurants that were recommended and had some excellent meals.

What an Experience
We enjoyed the experience of staying in a chateau while at the same time visiting the more famous chateaux in the district. We found the Chateau very atmospheric. We loved the space of the rooms, especially the living room where we had a fire going several evenings. We toured the large park regularly and saw some deer. We mainly ate in the local village, walking there and back. We also enjoyed the pizzas from Yan's van. All in all it was a very relaxing holiday.

Such a Pleasure
This holiday chateau has a lovely feel to it. It is a very warm and welcoming place. We had a great time.

Just Lovely
The chateau was perfect with large and comfortable rooms, enhanced by Faba's idiosyncratic artwork. Not so perfectly furnished that we felt unable to treat it as a home, but extremely gemutlich. The grounds were lovely to walk in and cycle if you don't mind a few bumps. We paddle boarded on the lake and waded through the streams. The pool was unusually large and nine of us did not feel cramped. In the village, the Auberge du Sept was a great place to eat with a small but good menu which changed frequently. Across two weeks we ate their three times. We all loved Monsieur's risotto. Pizza from the van on Wednesdays by the church was also good and inexpensive. All in all, we had a great time largely mooching around the chateau and the surrounding area, but of course there are many great places along the Loire - not to mention the excellent Brut from Monmousseau in nearby Montrichard.

A unique experience
Thank for a relaxing week. Beautiful Chateau and grounds. We enjoyed the pool and the grounds. We have rented in Europe a number of times, but the experience this year was unique! Best regards.

Perfect location for a Golden Wedding Celebration
The perfect location for the celebration of Ken and Sally's Golden Wedding with the whole family! Nice accommodation, beautiful garden and pool. Enjoyed the grounds, the village and the surrounding area. Many thanks to Maria and Anne-Marie for making us so comfortable.

Fabulous stay, we will be back!
Thank you very much for a really lovely week. The Chateau, the pool, and the village are fabulous as well as Maria and Anne Marie's hospitality. The Chateau itself is amazing, and has been like living in a stately home. The weather has also been fabulous, leading us all the have the most perfect holiday. It was the perfect way to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday with all the family. We will be back !

A relaxing and lovely week
We've had the most relaxing, lovely week. The kids adored the art lesson and we've all enjoyed the beautiful chateau and pool, as well as fishing trips and gorgeous meals out in the village. We hope to be back one of these days...Very many thanks!

Thanks for the art lesson
Thanks so much, we loved our time here. I love your art work and thank you for the art lesson.

Amazing week-long stay at Chateau Le Brun
We had a wonderful experience at Chateau Le Brun. The host Maria was very welcoming and helpful. She bought cheese, bread and refreshments for our arrival and made restaurant reservations for us. We loved the chateau with its huge rooms and interesting artwork. We enjoyed walking into the village. However, during the week, there is not much going on. From Brinon, we toured Chateaux Chambord and Chenonceau and the cities of Blois and Amboise, which were about an hour and 30 minutes away. We would relax by the pool one day and then going touring the next. One day, we went horseback riding in Brinon which the kids loved. It was a great stay and we'd love to come back.

A perfect holiday
We stayed in Chateau Le Brun for a week with the whole family. We had a perfect holiday, the house, the pool, the grounds, lake, restaurants in the village, Faba's wonderful hospitality. All amazing. Thank you!

Our chateau family
Our stay at the chateau was great. It is easy to spend a couple days relaxing at the chateau or just using is as a base camp while exploring other towns and sights in the area. We decided to have dinner at the chateau on our first night: an amazing traditional meal, which we had after first settling in and chatting around the fireplace. After dinner and over breakfast we were given such great suggestions on how to potentially spend the limited time in the area. We also walked around the grounds one morning after breakfast. The accommodation is great, and it made our trip to the area even more amazing and memorable.

Summer in France
This was an incredible stay for our family. The owners, were very friendly (like family) and very informative. We could not have been treated any better. All of the recommendations were perfect. The Chateau is magnificent. The location is very convenient. We had a great time buying local wines, coming back to the Chateau , and sharing them. We drove to Paris one day. We were told just where to go, and how to get there. We avoided traffic, and even parked easily. If I could, I would be back there now. Loved every minute.

Exceptional hosts and a great place to stay
The perfect hosts, prepared to accommodate adults and children with generosity and understanding. The Kir Royales were most welcome after our stressful journey!
We had been forced to travel seven hours apart when one of our cars broke down in the UK. Two of the adults and one child arrived after midnight but the owners waited up, advised on travel routes and provided a welcome supper for the late-comers!
We were fortunate to have all three rooms at relatively short notice, each one comfortable and spacious. The château is beautiful and the park ideal for children to run free after hours in a car. Château le Brun was an ideal stop-over for us and a wonderful start to our French holiday. -
Escape to the Loire Valley
Our family spent 7 wonderful days at Chateau Le Brun. The owners made the stay feel like we were visiting old friends. Their Knowledge of sites and wineries made our trip absolutely perfect. We all loved the trip and can't wait to return.
-
Loved this place and great food too!
Terrific host and hostess. The ambiance and property are gorgeous.

Perfect stay with wonderful hosts
We recently returned from a wonderful trip to France, which began with three magical nights at Chateau le Brun. Our room was lovely - large, comfortable and very quiet for sleeping. The lodge itself is wonderful, with beautiful grounds and woods for walking through. But it is really made special by the hosts, who could not have been better. I had mentioned that the trip was to celebrate a special anniversary, and on our arrival we found a chilled bottle of champagne in our room. We enjoyed it sitting outside, followed by a truly exceptional dinner prepared by the host. I had read the reviews, but still was not prepared for just how wonderful a cook the host is! And what lovely, warm and generous hosts! Every meal - that incredible dinner, and breakfasts each morning - was made particularly special by wonderful conversation. And through the windows, we could see deer walking through the grounds! The Chateau is an excellent base for exploring the chateaux and towns in the Loire, and the hosts were so very helpful with advice as we planned our days. We had rented a car and found it very easy to get anywhere we wanted. We would absolutely return, both to the Loire and to Chateau le Brun . A wonderful, memorable holiday!
-
Beautiful property, gracious hosts, an unforgettable stay!
A friend and I were fortunate enough to stop here while traveling through Europe and it was without a doubt my favorite part of our trip. The property and grounds were amazing, it was like I was a BBC period piece and I kept expecting a carriage to pull up the driveway with Marie Antoinette inside. Food was fantastic and the dinners were full of laughter and great conversation about French history, society, etc. The hosts escorted us across the French countryside to see chateaux, wineries, small mountainside towns and more. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an authentic experience of the paysage français, and hope that I will be able to come back someday myself!

Charming Chateau
Historic chateau is charming and very comfortable located in a very lovely setting. But the real treat is the warmth and friendliness of owners. The gourmet meals were wonderful. Irene is a fabulous cook. We talked and laughed for hours at the table every evening and morning. They took us to a delightful local festival put on by the town that should not be missed. We couldn't have had a better time.

A place to come back again
We spent one night at Chateau le Brun in October. This was the first stop on our route to Perigord and it turned out an excellent beginning of a journey. I had never visited Chateau le Brun before but my wife (we were travelling without kids this time) had passed here several nights three years earlier. For both of us this was a magnificent experience.
The hosts are fantastic and we enjoyed the evening with them greatly.
The house is great - old and atmospheric. On the ground floor, there is a lovely sitting room with armchairs, a sofa and a fire place. We had the pleasure of occupying the biggest guest room ("Peach"), really nice and with windows opening onto the park. Our bed was king size, really large - my height is over 1m90cm and I had plenty of room to stretch the legs. The en suite bathroom was very spacious and comfortable, and immaculately appointed.
A hearty breakfast was waiting us in the morning. The meal passed accompanied by a friendly chat and we had great difficulty pushing ourselves outside by noon to continue our voyage. There is a lovely park right outside the house and we strolled there a little before saying 'good bye'.
We like to travel and we have been in many different places so we can compare. Chateau le Brun is really something outstanding for us. One of the places we do want to come back again. -
The only place to stay
After a year off from the bedlam of 'La Motte', my son and I returned this year. Charming location, charming people, excellent food, fine wine. Livery just up the road. Friendly village bar a stumble away. And I still haven't visited the grounds. Next year's treat.
