With exceptional vistas of Mont Blanc and the Aravis mountains, Chalet Frozen is in a great location close to plenty of skiing, hiking, mountain and lakeside activities, around a 10-minute drive from Combloux. Quick access to the A40 autoroute means that Geneva Airport (85km) is easily reached, just over an hour away.
The chalet is located at the end of a cul-de-sac around 2km from a small village and a little further to a couple of good supermarkets. Further amenities can be found in Combloux (5km), a traditional mountain village with a lovely atmosphere across its restaurants, cafes, bars and shops. The town of Sallanches is 6km by car whilst Saint-Gervais-les-Bains is a 15-minute drive away. Also note it is an easy 10-minute drive to the Mont-Blanc tramway, a majestic trip at any time of year.
Winter activities across this region include dog-sledding, snow-shoe hikes and even ice-climbing within a short drive. In terms of skiing opportunities, the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski area is accessible via Combloux, Saint-Gervais-les-Bains and Megève. In nearby Combloux there is a choice of green and blue slopes for beginners around the ‘Portes du Mont-Blanc’ as well as more challenging pistes with stunning views.
Meanwhile, once the snow disappears, the region is loved by keen hikers, mountain bikers and cyclists – ask at Combloux’ tourist office for trails of the area. In the summertime, visit Lac de Passy (5km) for its sandy beach, swimming, lovely picnic areas, nature walks, cycling, mountain biking, fishing and a range of seasonal watersports alongside mini-golf, go-karting, tree-top adventures and more.
A little further afield, embrace the apres-ski or summer ambience of cosmopolitan Chamonix (25km), take France’s highest cable car up to Aiguille du Midi or enjoy a trip on the wonderful little red train that tours the incredible Mer de Glace. Mountain bike enthusiasts should follow the popular trails near Les Houches whilst animal lovers visiting in the summer will adore the many animals and spectacular scenery of Parc de Merlet (25km).
