This six-bedroom retreat provides the perfect escape for families or groups seeking space, serenity, and easy access to the world-renowned Three Valleys ski area.

The chalet’s characterful Savoyard design, with exposed wooden beams and natural stonework, creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout. Inside, a spacious open-plan living area centres around a wood-burning fireplace, with large windows that flood the room with natural light and open onto a balcony overlooking the surrounding peaks. The fully equipped kitchen and generous dining space make it easy to gather together and enjoy home-cooked meals after days on the slopes.

Each of the six double bedrooms is elegantly styled, with plush furnishings and soft linens ensuring restful nights. Five bedrooms feature modern en-suite bathrooms, while wellness facilities including a private outdoor hot tub and traditional sauna offer the ideal place to unwind and rejuvenate.

Nestled in tranquil Chatelard, the chalet is just a short drive (around two kilometres) from the ski lifts and centre of Saint-Martin-de-Belleville, where guests can explore a selection of restaurants, cafés, and boutique shops. A car is recommended for convenience and to make the most of the surrounding valley.

Chalet Severine is split across several levels which are accessible by internal staircases, so may not be suitable for guests with mobility issues.

Chalet Severine enjoys a tranquil position in the pretty mountain hamlet of Chatelard, just above Saint-Martin-de-Belleville. This peaceful setting offers the charm of traditional Alpine life while keeping guests within easy reach of the Three Valleys, the world’s largest interconnected ski area.

From the chalet, it’s only a short drive (around two kilometres) down to the Saint-Martin-de-Belleville ski lifts and resort centre, where you’ll find ski schools, equipment hire, and a welcoming selection of restaurants, bars, and boutique shops. A car is recommended to make the most of the nearby amenities and the wider valley, including access to Les Menuires and Méribel.

The surrounding area offers more than world-class skiing, guests can enjoy snowshoeing, dog sledding, or simply wandering through the charming cobbled streets of Saint-Martin. After a day on the mountain, relax in one of the local restaurants and savour traditional Savoyard dishes such as fondue and tartiflette, accompanied by a glass of regional wine.

For travel, Chambéry Airport is around an hour’s drive away, while Geneva and Lyon are accessible in approximately two hours by car or private transfer.

Getting to and around

Picturesque St Martin de Belleville is the gateway to the Trois Vallées ski system, and what you might call the quiet little brother of the famous ski family. Not much goes on at this resort except for high-quality snow sports, and that’s just the way we like it.

St Martin remains an old Savoyard village with a majestic church tower at its centre and more locals than tourists. Its charm lies in small-scale excellence and a well-kept sense that you are not staying at a ski resort but in an old alpine community. Life here is slow-paced, relaxed and quintessentially French.

This family resort is excellent for beginner and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Across the 78 slopes, the best runs are long, rolling, and just the right degree of challenging. In the winters you are pretty much guaranteed good snow coverage due to the close proximity to Val Thorens, but because of the relatively low altitude of St Martin village, you might want to rethink a late-season even though pistes stay open until April.

Sailing down the slopes of St Martin de Belleville you’ll get familiar with some seriously attractive views and gorgeous wooded landscapes. Overall there are 1448 metres of downhill skiing available and on top of that you can, of course, gain access to the rest of the Three Valleys system.

While St Martin is not known for its après-ski scene, there has been significant development in the area and there are lots more locations where you can dance until the sun sets and into the night. For serious après-skiers, then you’re better off staying in neighbouring Méribel. As the village is known for its gourmet cuisine, why not spend the evening at one of the many top-notch restaurants including the Michelin starred La Bouitte & Simple et Meilleur. Although it is a small town, there is a lot of variety when it comes to food.
