The gentle ocean breeze and clear blue skies will draw you outside to Villa Tasha's large swimming pool each morning, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in the cool waters. The pool is surrounded by sumptuous sun loungers and covered outdoor lounge spaces where guests can relax in the shade and while away the afternoon with a good book. There are plenty of casual dining areas, perfect for your morning cup of coffee or a coconut cocktail come sunset. The villa also boasts an outdoor jacuzzi, where you can relax under the stars and feel the day's adventures melt away.
The patio features an elegant outdoor dining area overlooking the beach, where you can enjoy a family barbecue on a sunny afternoon. Or if you would prefer to dine between the palm trees, make your way to the covered dining table on the private beach, where everyone can linger over a delicious meal under a canopy of twinkling lights. About the surrounding area of Villa TashaNestled upon a private peninsula with its own sandy beach on Antigua’s sparkling southwest coastline, Villa Tasha’s superb setting near Jolly Harbour allows for complete seclusion whilst affording easy access to a vibrant island destination. Getting to nearby Jolly Harbour could not be simpler, thanks to the villa’s two golf carts, reserved for guests' exclusive use. The harbour is home to a lively boardwalk, a wide variety of excellent bars and restaurants, an eighteen-hole golf course and plenty of activities on the water. For those who wish to travel a little further afield, the stunning landscapes of this Caribbean paradise lie waiting to be discovered.
Antigua and Barbuda is a nation encompassing two sister islands and several smaller islets in the heart of the Caribbean Sea. Local Antiguans are understandably proud of the island’s 365 beaches, one for each day of the year. Guests at Villa Tasha will be delighted to find the silky white sands of two idyllic beaches nearby, Ffryes and Darkwood. Surrounded by dense green hilltops, Ffryes Beach is a popular spot with tourists and locals alike. Here, you can spend the day snorkelling in the crystalline waters before indulging in a delicious dinner at one of the many restaurants on Jolly Harbour Marina.
Slightly further afield, Nelson’s Dockyard National Park is one of five national parks in Antigua. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, this eighteenth-century British naval dockyard is an area of great historical significance on the island and a popular venue for maritime events and activities. For those who wish to experience the magic for themselves, there are plenty of sailing excursions and water-based activities available.
There are plenty of fantastic trekking trails around the island, taking in sandy beaches, rainforests and dreamlike coastal views. For a challenging hike, wear your shoes and visit Mount Obama, the highest peak in Antigua. From the summit, enjoy the panoramic views before descending to Cades Bay for a delightfully refreshing dip in the ocean.
Don’t forget to visit Shirley Heights, a restored military lookout known for its bewitching views and community feel. With a popular street party happening every Sunday evening, visitors are welcome to enjoy the music of live Caribbean steel drum bands, taste some of the local food and rum punch and take in the breathtaking sights as the sun begins to go down on the beautiful island of Antigua.

A day spent hiking around Nelson’s Dockyard is another great way to get closer to nature. Ascend to the stunning panoramic views of Shirley Heights on a quiet weekday afternoon for a scenic hike that everyone will remember. This is a relatively easy hike, but make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and pack plenty of water. You will find handy trail maps available to download online.
For something different, why not take everyone to watch a local cricket match? The island is devoted to its national sport, which is played everywhere, though official matches tend to take place on weekends. Later, drive to St. John’s, where older children will enjoy the vibrancy of the island’s capital. Here, families can visit local restaurants to sample some of the island’s delicacies.
If you are in the mood for an exciting island adventure, drive along the coast before turning inland towards Fig Tree Drive, where you will pass open fields of bananas and other colourful fruits. Within twenty-five minutes, you will reach the Antigua Rainforest Canopy Park, where a day of thrilling activities awaits! With experienced instructors to guide you at every point, you will cross suspension bridges and rope obstacles, ziplining above the tree tops and crisscrossing a stunning gorge. Don’t forget to take a break in the magical twin tree houses tucked away in the dense rainforest. This is an exhilarating day out that varies in intensity, with options to suit all age groups.
Later on, return to your beautiful island home at Villa Tasha in time for a sunset dip in the swimming pool before enjoying a family barbecue on the beach. Everyone will be sure to sleep soundly once the stars have appeared, after another day of fun and adventure!
