Overview

Walk to Beach Walk to Village All Bedrooms En-Suite Ideal for Parties

Tudor Manor House sits pretty on the edge of the Somerset LevelsLocation aside. A Grade II listed building, previously used by the Monks of Glastonbury in 1489. With a history as old as time under its belt, it'll come as no surprise that the house is spilling over with history and charming atmosphere. It still echoes of grandeur and retains periodical features, including a Tudor fireplace, chandeliers and four-poster beds in many of the 11 en-suite bedrooms. Each room has been individually decorated and is in keeping with the original character of the property. From every window, you'll find uninterrupted views across the rolling Somerset countryside. So relish the peace and tranquillity that is oh so hard to find in today’s busy world.

On entering the manor, you'll be fixated by the superb great hall with tiled floors and comfortable seating. In the winter months, a log fire also provides a very warm welcome to guests. Leading off the room is a grand dining room and snug with a wood burning stove, wooden floors and leather sofas. Then there's the commercial kitchen which has two large gas ranges, dishwasher facilities, microwaves and sufficient crockery, cutlery and glassware for large groups.

The interiors are as cosy as they come, but tear yourself away and outside you will discover 20 acres of spacious yet informal gardens. It's the best place to take in the fresh air with a side order of hilly views. Guests can enjoy games on the lawn or a leisurely stroll around the grounds. Equally, you can simply choose to relax under the magnificent cedar trees with a glass of wine before sitting down to a sumptuous dinner.

Reviews

  • Absolutely fantastic!

    Posted by Philippa on 17/11/2017

I recently spent the weekend at Tudor Manor House for my 40th birthday. We were 22 people, all extremely comfortably accommodated in the 11 beautiful bedrooms - all unique and all with en-suite. The ground floor is perfect for large groups to be together, eat together in the incredible dining room or hang out in the cosier bar area. The professional standard kitchen is really well appointed with plenty of fridge, oven and hob space. I would struggle to find anything to criticise.

  • Reunion weekend!

    Posted by Sandy on 21/10/2017

Our group of friends spent a weekend in October at Tudor Manor House. From the start Nichola met us at the House, showed us around the exquisitely decorated 11 bedrooms and rest of the house. The kitchen, which suited the extravagant plans to cook feasts for 22 people all weekend, was decked out with 22 of everything... plates, crockery, glasses, cutlery, everything you need for a murder mystery dinner for 22.
The house had a huge amount of space for all of us to spread across different rooms, and have a party in the evening when the sun goes down, we were all astounded by how much space was there to explore, each room more beautiful than the other! We managed to squeeze in a long walk for a pub lunch at the Ashcott on Saturday, which everyone loved!
The grounds surrounding the manor were phenomenal, spanning nature as far as the eye can see with a stunning pond outside the house. Our only regret was not staying longer to be able to explore the grounds more, but are very happy and grateful to have spent a glorious weekend in a beautiful house. Thank you!
