Tucked away in the quaint, picturesque resort village of Canggu on the south coast of Bali, Villa Katon is a sleek, inviting five-bedroom family-friendly retreat for ten. Flanked by lush terraced rice paddy fields, the villa is only a brisk walk from the dazzling Canggu Beach, and a short drive from the bustling shopping and culinary haven of Seminyak.
A tasteful harmony of luxury, comfort and practicality, it is a stunning two-level embodiment of minimalism. It boasts dewy white-washed walls, monochromatic palettes, with sudden pops of bright colours for an ambience that is simple, calming and strikingly modern.
A large, shimmering pool awaits you, which is one of the biggest draws of the villa, and is accessible from most parts of the house — the living area, dining room and fully functional kitchen. You can lounge by the poolside under a shady gazebo, or head upstairs to sprawl on the comfy L-shaped sofa of the outdoor lounge area, while soaking in its beachy, tropical feel. The living area indoor is sprawling, complete with large, floor-to-ceiling sliders and cool, relaxing interiors ideal for large groups.
All five bedrooms stay faithful to the chic, minimalist décor, and are roomy, with plenty of natural light. There are three bedrooms on the ground floor, equipped with outdoor showers, and offer gorgeous views of the pool. The two bedrooms on the upper floor overlook sweeping green rice paddy fields along with the pool.
Villa Katon also features luxurious bathtubs in two of the bedrooms, perfect for long soaks — we recommend with a glass of red in hand.
The kitchen is airy and well-stocked, with a coffee maker, fridge, blender, toaster, stove, water dispenser and electric kettle. For those working from home, there is a designated space equipped with desks.
For an especially relaxing stay, savour a traditional Balinese massage and in-villa spa treatments.
Villa Katon is set in Bali’s trendiest hotspot of Canggu, full of breezy cafés, cloistered villas and rolling rice paddy fields.

About the surrounding area of Villa KatonA mere 250 meters from the villa, is Kayu Putih Beach — home to the Insta-worthy wooden bridge at the top of Yeh Poh Lagoon. To navigate this pristine body of water, La Laguna restaurant built the wooden bridge, which now attracts flocks of tourists for its tropical, oldworld charm.
The relaxing Batu Belig Beach, only 900 meters from the villa, is slightly removed from the busier beaches down south. Sapphire waters, soft black sands and panoramic views of the sunset make for a memorable experience. If you’re in the mood for a livelier time, some parts of the beach host pulsating nightclubs and trendy cafes.
Finns Beach Club (3.0 kms) is hailed as one of the best in the world. Boasting a 170-meter oceanfront, live music extravaganza, a glamorous infinity pool with underwater speakers, it truly lives up the hype. Treat your palette to continental delicacies, indulge in adrenalinepumping water sports, or sip on cocktails by the seaside; there is something for everyone here.
A zero-waste, nature-friendly hotspot, the Potato Beach Club is 4 kms away from the villa. Perfect for a sundowner, its rustling canopy of palm trees, restaurants specialising in organic, locally-produced dishes, infinity pool and enthralling music attract tourists from far and wide.
For some retail therapy, look no further than Seminyak Square, about 4.9 kms from the villa. A vibrant, bustling shopping complex, it is a treasure trove of small boutiques and designer stores — you will find a slew of gorgeous artworks, hand-crafted souvenirs, stylish jewellery, rare books and fashion wear.
Canggu is also a hub for fascinating temples and historical sites. 14.2 km from the property, the iconic Tanah Lot Sea Temple sits atop a majestic rock formation, and offers breathtaking views of the sun going down. Taman Ayun Temple is a 40-minute drive — a royal temple of the Mengwi Empire, while the Ulun Danu Beratan Temple is a magnificent temple by the lakeside. Uluwatu Temple (30.5 km) watches over the region from the peak of an exalted cliff.
