Contemporary five-bedroomed Villa Bartu is a luxury haven a few minutes walk from Kalkan's cobbled streets. Tucked away on the hillside on Turkey’s serene Turquoise Coast, it’s a stylish and spacious villa with plenty of privacy and beautiful panoramic views across the bay. Modern minimalism and classic Mediterranean features rule indoors and out: the clean lines, whitewashed walls and floor-to-ceiling windows and doors are all the better to target your focus on the gasp-worthy sunsets.

The characterful building is made from beautiful local stone and is surrounded by a mature garden with several olive trees and fragrant native plants, set against a backdrop of the majestic Taurus Mountains. The villa is arranged across three floors, and there’s a balcony extending the entire width of the property so you can wake up to those idyllic seafront vistas and tranquil blue hues.

There’s an open-plan living area with a fully-equipped kitchen and dining table, alongside a separate TV room and cloakroom. Glass doors from the living area open up to the pool and dining terrace beyond, bringing in lots of natural light. Four comfortable bedrooms are in the central part of the property, and there’s fourth on the lower ground floor with a small kitchen and dining space.

The main stand out feature is one of the en-suites with a deep soak stand-alone bath, perfectly positioned to take advantage of the wonderful views. Outside, there’s also a sunken swim-up bar with submerged bar stools, and plenty of space to sunbathe or relax with a good book in the shade. In the evening, dine al fresco on the terrace with lanterns and candles creating a romantic ambience.

Villa Bartu is just a short 10-minute walk from Kalkan's old town, beach and harbour. There you can dine at one of the vibrant waterfront restaurants, browse the quaint boutiques, shops and bazaars or take in the historic sites. With stunning walking routes off-the-beaten-track and soft sandy swimming beaches too, Kalkan is the perfect holiday destination for families and friends alike.

What Oliver loves...

  • Stunning panoramic views of Kalkan bay and the coast from your terrace and balcony
  • With a private pool, gardens and BBQ, the facilities here are second to none. You’re also provided with a welcome pack on arrival, and cleaning and linen changes are carried out on a weekly basis
  • The villa is set in a peaceful spot on the hillside so you’ll feel like you’re a world away from any hustle and bustle, yet shops, restaurants and a beach within a 10-minute walk
  • When you don't fancy going to one of Kalkan's many restaurants, some deliver so you can etat at the villa and enjoy the view.

What you should know

  • The villa is on a slope so it’s easier getting to the beach and town than it is getting back
  • There are other properties in the area, however the villa is surrounded by trees and is private
  • The bedroom on the lower ground floor is separately-accessed from the main part of the villa, therefore, it’s unsuitable for young children but it’s ideal for teenagers or extended family members needing privacy or independence
