Set over four storeys, each with its own outdoor space, Palm Tree Paradise is a tropical haven which offers unrivalled views over the cape below. This spacious and modern home is perfect for a family trip to Sri Lanka’s Southern Province, sleeping up to ten guests in five en-suite bedrooms.
Palm Tree Paradise is a home which has been designed for outdoor living. With such a fantastic climate and amazing views from every floor, the owners have ensured guests can make the most of this delightful setting.
On the ground floor, you enter the home through the large kitchen utilised by the chefs who can prepare everything from delicious breakfasts to international dishes for you and your party. The friendly team will discuss your tastes and dietary requirements to ensure you have a sumptuous menu for your stay that meets everyone’s needs. If you want to try out a local cookery class, you can also do this in the kitchen space. Leading out from here, you can access the impressive swimming pool, which is lined with sun loungers and overlooks the Indian Ocean.
Up a floor, you will enter the main living space, equipped with comfy sofas, armchairs and a TV for moments when you would like to enjoy a little peace or watch a film. Outdoors, there is a large terrace with a dining space. The largest bedrooms at Palm Tree Paradise are set on the first floor. These bright and airy rooms have king-sized beds, independent sitting areas, contemporary bathrooms, and private terraces. The three remaining bedrooms are on the second floor; these rooms are just as stunning as the first-floor rooms and share a wraparound terrace! Each room has an en-suite bathroom and offers guests a tranquil place for a restful night’s sleep; two double rooms and one room with single beds would be great for the kids.
The fourth floor of the villa is given over entirely to a shaded roof terrace with some of the best views in the area! You can discover a large, built-in seating area, swing beds, sun loungers and even a bar area. This is a fabulous space for socialising as the sun goes down over the Indian Ocean and would be an excellent spot for a special gathering.
When you fancy a swim in the dazzling blue sea or wish to spend the day relaxing on the beach, it could not be easier as the beach is just a short stroll away from the house. This sweeping, sandy beach is just one of many in the area, so you will have plenty to choose from. There is also an abundance of restaurants nearby, plus you have temples, historic towns and surf schools within easy reach. Those who are happy to travel further out for day trips could go on safari at one of the incredible national parks or head to one of the bustling cities such as Galle, which is 25km away.
What you should know…
- Palm Tree Paradise is staffed by a concierge, security and a chef. While the staff and chef are included in your booking, the cost of meals will be charged separately based on your menu choices. This is to be paid before arrival.
- Those who struggle with stairs should be aware that the villa is set over four floors.
- Air-conditioning is featured in the bedrooms only.
- If you require further accommodation for a larger group, the homeowners also own two neighbouring houses: Jungle Beach Villa and Palm Tree Gardens.
- The laundry room and the staff quarters are within the grounds, in another building; while the staff are there to help, this will cause no disturbance to your party.
- There is on-site parking for those who wish to arrive by car, though there are some amenities and train stations nearby, too.

About the surrounding area of Palm Tree ParadiseAdventure awaits you on holiday at Palm Tree Paradise; this wonderful home is an idyllic base for those wishing to get outdoors and have fun together, as there is so much to see on your doorstep. With the nearest beach and restaurants just a 500m walk away and the closest town a mere 4km away, you could not wish for a better location for immersing yourself in island life.
Scattered between the jungles and the beaches, you can find countless small villages, lively towns and bustling cities where you can shop and visit cultural attractions. Within walking distance of the villa, there are numerous shops and a good selection of restaurants, from beachside huts to high-end eateries. The town of Weligama, which is 4km away, has an even more extensive range, including cafes, bars and international restaurants. The town was once a tiny fishing village with a charming centre. You can pick up groceries or gifts in the shops or at the brilliant market. The town also has an ornate Buddhist temple you can visit or you would prefer to head out on an organised boat trip.
20km away from the villa, you can also visit the larger town of Matara. This coastal town is off the usual tourist trails and is a lovely place to spend an afternoon. The historic streets here span out from the vast Dutch fortress named the Star Fort and are packed with shops and cafes. The market here is one of the best and is a brilliant place for picking up fresh produce and street foods. While here, you can also visit the huge Buddhist Monastery where over 100 monks reside. Guests are welcome if they wish to learn more about meditation and spirituality. The town also has breathtaking beaches, such as the secluded Polhena Beach. You can sunbathe here or take a coastal walk to Dondra Head Lighthouse.
If you visit Sri Lanka, you will likely be a beach lover. If so, you will be happy to hear that the nearest beach, Jungle Beach, is just 500m away! Close to the villa, you have these serene beaches backed with tropical planting and lively beaches with water sports, surfing and scuba diving.
In addition to the gorgeous beaches, Sri Lanka is known for its tea production. While here, you should visit one of the vast tea plantations, such as Handunugoda Tea Estate, which is 12km away by car or Tuk Tuk. The estate grows the famous Virgin White Tea and 25 other varieties, which you can sample on the free tours held here.
