Ocean Haven

Sitting in an incredible sea-front location above Sri Lanka's Weligama Bay, Ocean Haven is a delightful single-storey home that can comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests. Close to the villa are vibrant towns, surf schools and serene beaches, meaning you do not have far to travel to find a great range of amenities.

Ocean Haven is a warm and welcoming home, a fantastic base for your trip to Sri Lanka. With open-plan living rooms, a lush and expansive garden and five bedrooms, this is a brilliant choice for families. All on one floor, the house is a friendly space with rooms that wind into each other and open out onto the garden.

The living room is large and leads to a covered veranda that wraps around the whole home. The living room has comfortable sofas, a TV, and a pool table, and it is a fabulous space where everyone can come together in the evenings and make memories. The rooms here are decorated in muted, beachy tones with terracotta floor tiles, ceiling beams, and wooden furnishings, which create a lovely space to unwind. Next to the kitchen, you will find the kitchen equipped to a professional standard; the chef will work here, preparing a wide array of meals from local dishes to Italian cuisine for your party.

The villa is set on one floor; the rooms look outwards to the garden and the sea beyond or inwards to the interior courtyard. Light floods the living spaces and bedrooms from the floor-to-ceiling windows and the doors out on the terraces. Five bedrooms are available here, and four are in the main villa. These include two large rooms with luxurious king-sized canopy beds, seating areas, and bathrooms with inviting baths and showers. Additionally, there is a twin room with two bunk beds, which is perfect for the kids. Both rooms have en-suite bathrooms, too. The final bedroom is a private hideaway in the garden with a double en-suite room.

Outside, a landscaped, tiered garden is yours to enjoy for your trip. This vast garden has few seating nooks, dining spaces, and shady spots underneath the towering trees. A private swimming pool takes centre stage and offers views of the ocean's crashing waves. You can easily reach the beach through a gate from the garden and take a paddle in the sea. If you would like shelter during the day's heat, why not read your favourite book under the cover of the veranda that envelops the house?

The house is within walking distance of a selection of breathtaking beaches that are great for sunbathing and taking surfing lessons. You also have a selection of shops, restaurants and attractions in Weligama, just 3km away.

This area, in Sri Lanka's Southern Province, is an ideal base for those wishing to visit tea plantations, see some of the local wildlife and wander around historic towns.
