A rustic and ornate villa located inland, just under an hour's drive from Malaga Airport, Cortijo Don Cristobal is an ideal place to stay if you are looking to immerse yourself in the true history and character of this region. The exterior of this property is utterly immaculate, surrounded by olive groves and a vineyard, and the interior spaces include a considerable swimming pool in the centre of the property. As such, guests can cool off after a long day of exploring the local sights whenever they please. This villa is also home to various outdoor seating and dining areas, allowing guests to marvel at the incredibly built property and enjoy the peacefulness of the Andalusian countryside. What's more, make sure to enjoy a bottle of the Amorous Goat wine, made from the villa's own grapes surrounding the property!

Inside, this property continues to delight, presenting a wide variety of traditional decors and furnishings for guests to enjoy. The impressive living room hosts a series of exposed wooden ceiling beams that perfectly complement the tiled floor that spans this entire space. As such, guests are free to relax on the white sofas and reminisce about their favourite parts of the day. The dining area also adheres to a dark and pastoral theme. This space makes good use of a dark and solid wooden table as well as a selection of matching chairs. In turn, guests can use this area to enjoy a collection of amazing and communal meal times. The kitchen within this property is nothing short of perfection, presenting a unique breakfast bar and a plethora of high-end appliances. Therefore, guests are free to prepare and serve an assortment of delicious meals whenever they like, and they can either enjoy them at the kitchen dining table or in the separate dining room with its impressive wooden table. Also, guests will find the office on this floor, with space to do a bit of work and a sofa to lounge on and watch some TV.

Travelling upstairs, this is where you'll discover the four gorgeous bedrooms. All of these rooms also contain double beds, meaning that guests are guaranteed to maintain a restful night's sleep throughout their stay on this outstanding property. In addition, all of these rooms also provide access to their own en-suite bathrooms. The main bedroom upstairs also contains a larger double bed, a bathtub, a Juliet balcony looking outwards and an inner balcony looking over the living room downstairs. Also available to guests is a separate casita that includes a double bed, bathroom, and kitchen/living room, which is perfect for those guests who want a bit more privacy from the rest of the group (please see T&Cs).

What Oliver loves...

  • This Cortijo has its own 10 acre biodiverse vineyard, producing its own Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes which turn into the Amorous Goat wine. What's more, guests are more than welcome to sample a few bottles during their stay in the property!
  • A secluded workspace can be found on-site for guests who need to complete any essential work whilst on holiday
  • This property was built by the owners from the ground up using local materials and designed as eco-consciously as possible
  • The relaxing garden is lined with looming palm trees to add essential shade from the blazing sun, and guests can head up to the viewpoint to look over the surrounding countryside

What you should know

  • Please note the air conditioning is limited to the kitchen of the main house and the bedroom of the casita, but all the bedrooms have fans and the thick stone walls ensure you will stay cool in the hotter months, and cosy in the colder ones
  • Children must be supervised at all times when near the stairs and the swimming pool
  • The Cortijo is situated off a farm track and whilst some amenities are walking distance please note that some parts of the walk do not have pavements
  • We recommend renting a car to reach the Cortijo and explore the local area! Check out the 'Extras' tab for more info...
