If you’ve been dreaming of your perfect family golfing holiday, Villa Sardina is a stylish and luxurious home-from-home that will appeal to golfers and non-golfers alike thanks to its spacious, modern design, and exclusive amenities, and stunning mountain views. Situated on Gran Canaria’s celebrated Salobre Golf Resort, just a few minutes' drive from beaches, shopping centres and restaurants, this stunning, two-storey, two-bedroom villa can accommodate up to four guests and offers everything you’ll need to enjoy a relaxing and memorable stay.
The interior of Villa Sardina is light and airy, with plenty of floor-to-ceiling glass doors providing access to outdoor spaces and showcasing those incredible views of the golf course and the mountains beyond. The open-concept lounge/diner and kitchen feature a light, neutral colour palette with accents of chocolate, peach and tangerine. There are cosy, cream-coloured sofas on which to rest and relax and modern home-from-home comforts such as a flat-screen smart TV, WiFi and air conditioning. A modern and stylish dining suite ensures that you and your guests can enjoy busy breakfasts and evening meals in style, and the well-equipped kitchen has everything you’ll need to cater to every culinary whim. From here, you have direct access to a fully-furnished, partially-covered terrace and barbecue area - perfect for after-dinner drinks beside the pool or alfresco meals after a day on the golf course or exploring the surrounding area.
On the ground floor, you’ll find one of Villa Sardina’s comfortable and spacious double bedrooms, featuring twin beds (ideal for the kids!), plenty of wardrobe space, and an ensuite bathroom with a bathtub for added convenience. The second bedroom is located on the first floor and features a double bed, wardrobes and ensuite bathroom, as well as providing access to the villa’s solarium terrace. Here you’ll discover the perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee as the sun comes up, catch some rays, relax with a good book, or sit back with an aperitif and take in the magnificent views.
Villa Sardina’s grounds offer even more luxury, with both sunny and shaded areas to enjoy on the spacious lawn area, complete with stylish sun loungers and parasols. The garden is enclosed by stone walls, shrubs and palm trees, offering privacy and peace of mind, and the villa’s private pool, with ladder access, is the perfect addition for cooling off after a day on the course.
What you should know…
- The villa’s private pool is only accessible by ladder, which could prove tricky for very young guests. There’s no fence or barrier either, so parents will want to make sure little ones are well supervised
- If you are staying as a couple with children, be aware that the two bedrooms are on separate floors, which might not be ideal for very young children
- A cot and highchair is available on request
- Naturists are welcome at some of the beaches in the region
- Car hire is advised

About the surrounding area of Villa SardinaVilla Sardina is situated in idyllic surroundings on an exclusive complex on the Salobre Golf Resort - one of Gran Canaria’s premium leisure resorts and the only resort in the Canary Islands that combines two eighteen-hole courses on the same site. Salobre Golf Resor really is the toast of the island, featuring the best greens in the region and promising players of all levels a challenging game in a stunning setting.
The resort is located just minutes from the resort town of Maspalomas, so if you fancy leaving the clubs at the villa and heading out, you can’t go wrong here! The area is well-known for its vast expanses of coastal dunes, a protected site that covers over a thousand acres. You can explore much of this area on foot, taking in sights such as the beautiful lagoon and lighthouse, but we recommend taking a camel safari for a truly unique and fun way to experience this incredible landscape.
The Maspalomas Botanic Garden is an often under-rated attraction that is well worth a visit while you’re here. Situated right next to the golf course, this collection of cacti and brightly coloured flowers provides a quick photo opportunity pit-stop before you head off for a bite to eat - and this is where you’re really about to be spoiled for choice! Maspalomas and nearby Meloneras are bursting with fantastic seafront restaurants, and if seafood is a particular favourite, you’re in for a treat! Here you’ll find delicious cuisine on offer, such as pulpo and prawns with potato foam and grilled calamari, paella, steaks, burgers and pasta dishes, as well as plenty of tapas restaurants and bars where you can enjoy cocktails and pre-dinner drinks.
There are some fantastic outdoor markets to visit, both during the week and on Saturdays, with stalls selling everything from clothing to fresh produce. You’ll find a wide array of aloe vera products on sale here, as the plant is native to Gran Canaria, so be sure to grab some locally-sourced skincare during your visit! If you’re looking for a higher-end shopping experience, head to Boulevard Faro, where you’ll find well-known labels like La Perla, Burberry and Tommy Hilfiger, and, if you walk a little further along the seafront, you’ll come to the Bellavista Shopping Centre and El Varadero Shopping Centre, as well as even more cafes, bars and restaurants that offer a welcome break when you can’t carry any more bags!

Best Suited For: All AgesGran Canaria is a popular choice for those travelling with children, and if you want to incorporate some golf during your family holiday, Villa Sardina is a great choice! The property is situated in a residential area overlooking the Salobre Golf Course, a family-friendly resort that offers plenty in the way of leisure activities, as well as restaurants, cafes and bars. Nearby Maspalomas and Meloneras are home to great beaches and markets, cycling and walking routes, and lots of shopping centres and eateries - so guests of all ages will find plenty to enjoy.
Maspalomas is home to the popular tourist attraction, Palmitos Park, an interactive zoological and botanical centre that lets guests get up close and personal with exotic birds like parrots, toucans and flamingos. Children of all ages will delight in a walk around the butterfly house before heading to see reptiles such as komodo dragons, caiman and turtles. If cute and furry is more their thing, the park also houses a wide array of cuddly-looking critters, including meerkats, aardvarks and wallabies that the kids will adore! For a truly unique experience, Palmitos Park offers a ‘Dolphin Encounters’ experience where small groups can enjoy half an hour spent with these majestic creatures. Here you’ll learn about their biology and habits in a fun and interactive way and even be able to take some souvenir photographs. The dolphin experience can be booked once you have entered the park rather than in advance, and we recommend reserving your places by 10 am to guarantee you the chance to take part in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
A very different experience - but still a must-see attraction! - is El Faro de Maspalomas - one of the oldest lighthouses in Europe. This fascinating landmark is a popular tourist destination thanks to its picturesque beach setting and rich history that lends itself perfectly to a calming and interesting family day out. With plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in the surrounding area, it’s the perfect ‘base camp’ for your day out, with everything you need: sand, sea, sights and refreshments all in one place.
For another once-in-a-lifetime experience, older kids will love a trip to the Moonlight Cinema, Europe’s only permanent outdoor cinema. The kids will love cosying up on comfy sofas and blankets as they watch movies under the stars, all while being served freshly prepared food and drinks!

Everything was super
The villa was wonderful: so quiet, with a beautiful view of the mountains. The service provided by the hosts was first class : just call the bureau and they immediately send someone to fix the problem. At our arrival we found bread, butter, marmelade, coffee, milk and juices in the fridge. That was a great help!
