Nestled in the quiet countryside of Campo Lameiro, Casa Lameiro offers breathtaking views and the chance to truly leave your cares and worries behind. Practising a philosophy of "Campismo Desconectado", Casa Lamiero invites its guests to disconnect from their daily routines and live humbly amongst nature in a traditionally Galician way.

Set in the heart of the historic Galicia region, Casa Lameiro is within easy reach of all the major attractions in the area, including some of Europe's most important archaeological sites. This striking property is unlike any other - with traditional features well-preserved and maintained, giving Casa Lameiro a true rustic charm with a few modern indulgences. A traditional country home with unbeatable panoramic valley views, Casa Lameiro, is the perfect place to escape to the countryside and hit the reset button.

Sprawling grounds and a charming brickwork facade invite guests to make themselves at home during their visit to Casa Lameiro. Once inside, this charming five-bedroom villa offers plenty of space for guests to spread out and find their own corners of the home to call their own. Decorated in true Galician style, Casa Lameiro incorporates elements of rural Galicia for an authentic rustic escape in the Spanish countryside.

Steeped in tradition, your main living space calls back to a simpler time with comfy chairs gathered around a fireplace and table, while the dining area and kitchen are located just behind. The dining space is large and comfortable, easily able to accommodate a house full of guests coming together to dine and drink while your kitchen sits at the heart of the home. While rustic in style, rest assured that the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to keep your fellow guests fed and happy.

Five comfortable bedrooms are decorated in traditional Spanish stylings, each unique and featuring either a double bed or two single beds. Despite its farmhouse charm, all rooms at Casa Lameiro feature their own private en-suite bathrooms for your comfort and convenience.

Outside, a large traditional courtyard is yours to make full use of, decorated in a cosy Galician manner. When the sun is shining, an additional dining table is located outside so that you can enjoy delicious meals al fresco.

In the garden, overlooking stunning valley views, your private swimming pool and sun terrace give guests a perfect place to rest and relax during the hot Spanish day.

Casa Lameiro is located in the heart of the gorgeous Galicia region of northern Spain, right on the side of a dramatic hillside overlooking a stunning green valley. Famous for its history, unique culture and slow pace, Galicia is the perfect place to base yourselves for a laid-back Spanish escape.

You can get to Casa Lamiero from two nearby airports; Santiago Airport, which is a 45-minute drive away or  A Coruña Airport, which is about an hour and a half away. No matter which airport you choose to fly to, both are relatively easy to get to and from Casa Lameiro.

Perfect for those truly looking to retreat and escape from their busy day-to-day lives, Casa Lamiero is very remote. It’s situated in a sleepy farming spot with nothing around except a few neighbouring farms. Aside from a handful of neighbours, the only thing around for miles is leafy trees and open green space.

You’ll definitely need access to a car if you’re planning to stay at Casa Lameiro. For simple amenities like groceries and a handful of restaurants, a small village is just 10 minutes away by car. However, for your additional needs, the city of Pontevedra is 30-minute drive south.

During your stay, Pontevedra is a great place to visit for a day out exploring. Well-regarded for its excellently preserved old town and gothic basilica, Pontevedra has plenty of shops, bars and restaurants for you to explore - all bursting with Galician charm and authenticity.

North of Casa Lamiero, about 45 minutes away by car, is the historic and sacred city of Santiago de Compostela. Revered worldwide, the capital of Galicia is best known for its significant links to Christianity. Reportedly being the final resting place of St. James, one of Jesus’ 12 apostles, thousands of Christians make the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela each year.

About the Region & Getting There

About Galicia

Like many parts of Spain, Galicia has its very own identity that has remained intact through its regional dialect and distinguishing culture. Although Galicia is recognised for its holy traditions, we urge budding tourists to also consider its astonishing green countryside & rivers and its UNESCO World Heritage sites. Occasionally you may even hear the gentle tootling of bagpipes, known locally as the Galician Gaita, along this northern corner of the Iberian Peninsula.

You're likely to fly into Santiago de Compostela, which is the capital of Galicia and is probably best known for the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage and its route. Many of the travellers embark on this journey by foot and tend to be mesmerised by this fine city at the end of their trek. Casco Viejo, or the Old Town, is a good place to end or even start your holiday. This area of the city is blessed with markets, restaurants, bars and buildings from a bygone era. After exhausting yourself in the busyness of the city, take a day trip to Praia de Rodas, on the gorgeous Cíes Islands. These small islands, accessible by boat from Vigo, Baiona, or Cangas, have been noted as having some of the best beaches in the world. It has to be seen to be believed!

Galicia is divided into four key regions: A Coruña, Lugo, Ourense and our favourite – Pontevedra. A Galician proverb states that 'Pontevedra gives water to travellers'. We firmly believe this to be true, as this particular part of Galicia has everything a traveller could need for an unforgettable experience and it almost feels like this city is constantly giving back. Whilst you holiday in Pontevedra you will realise that days are structured around mealtime. And why wouldn't they be? With some of the best seafood you will experience in Spain and the noteworthy Albariño wine, you may notice your jeans feeling a little tighter toward the end of your holiday. You will be glad to know that your waistline need not be a cause for concern though! Pontevedra is blessed with some of the best hiking trails, medieval monasteries, estuaries, and valleys within Spain. Don't forget about the coastline either! Rarely you will you find so many empty beaches, so make the most of this privacy and just embrace the nature around you.

Galicia is still an unspoilt part of the world. It has everything a diverse group of friends & family need to have a glorious adventure.

Getting There

Galicia is served by either Santiago de Compostela Airport, A Coruña Airport, or Vigo Airport. Various train lines connect the main cities and towns of Galicia to other destinations in Northern and Central Spain. Hop on and enjoy the view from your comfy seat; there's even a Galician Tourist Train pass! This discounted rail pass gives you access to various rail routes created by the Galician Regional Government and based on key elements of the region. Follow the Lighthouse Route along the northern coastline and stop to admire the lighthouses and gorgeous sea views, or hop on and follow one of the Ribeira Sacra Wine Routes to visit the lovely towns and wineries where acclaimed Galician wines are made and enjoyed. Check out the government website to grab your pass and plan your trip!

From the UK:
Direct flights are available from London with easyJet, Ryanair, Vueling, and many others. Although, travellers should be aware that Vigo Airport only receives domestic flights, so a stopover is needed if you wish to travel to this airport. Chartered flights are also available from several other UK airports.

Kids

Best Suited For: All Ages

What makes Casa Lamiero so appealing to adults is what may make it difficult to visit with children. While Casa Lameiro can be a perfectly comfortable base for families of all ages, you should take into consideration your children's personalities, likes and dislikes before deciding to stay at Casa Lamiero with them.

Set in the very remote Galician countryside, Casa Lameiro's ethos and appeal is its 'back-to-basics' farmhouse experience. There is no internet connection within the property or television for children to watch. Visiting Casa Lameiro is like stepping back through time to a simpler way of living, something that may be appealing to adults but may be difficult for some children to adapt to.

While there are plenty of opportunities for family fun and bonding at Casa Lameiro it's important to bear in mind that they'll be relatively low tech unless you bring along your own mod cons. However, many families view their trips to Casa Lameiro as a chance to connect with the families and enjoy some true bonding time away from screens and modern living.

In the grounds of Casa Lameiro, there's lots of space for kids to run, play and sunbathe on warm days, or budding artists can practise drawing and painting the gentle landscape from the gardens. Balls and other lawn game equipment can be brought along with you to Casa Lameiro, or it can easily be purchased in Pontevedra. At the edge of the garden, a good-sized private swimming pool is always popular with younger visitors who appreciate having the freedom to swim and play in the cool waters whenever they like.

For little history buffs, the area Casa Lamiero is located in is famed for its abundance of well-preserved ancient rock carvings and petroglyphs. Just a 10-minute drive away from Casa Lameiro is the Campo Lameiro Archaeological Park, an outdoor museum where kids can discover and learn all about the ancient artworks, who made them and what they mean.

  • The house is beautiful

    on 14/08/2023

The house is beautiful, we loved not only the stay but also the location with a spectacular panoramic view. In addition, the beds are very comfortable, all the rooms have a bathroom, a good kitchen to have breakfast together and a wonderful property to enjoy with the family.

  • Spectacular Views

    on 21/08/2021

We have been from 9 to 16 August 3 couples and 4 children, the house is located about 5 minutes drive from Campo Lameiro and 10 from Moraña, the nearest towns. The house has 5 bedrooms, all with bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. There is also an interior courtyard. Everything is very clean and equipped with rustic furniture. The only thing we missed was a dishwasher. Outside, the views are spectacular, it has a barbecue and the only pity is that we couldn't enjoy the swimming pool because it is being finished. Elena, the owner, is charming, super attentive and solves any questions you may have. We had a great week and we would definitely repeat.
