Upon arrival at Casa Tropical Mediteraneo, guests will feel right at home. The cool white walls and terracotta roof fit the local area perfectly, and the outside is decorated with lush green plants. The ocean view is breathtaking, and the local town of La Herradura is warm, welcoming, and well-equipped. The property also has a fence around its perimeter for an added layer of privacy during your stay.
Inside the home, the living area is shaded in cool whites and blues reminiscent of the outside ocean. There is plenty of seating available, including a cosy sofa and armchair, ready for use during your downtime, whether you’re curled up with a book or making use of the TV and Wi-Fi.
There are three bedrooms at Casa Tropical Mediteraneo, two doubles and one twin. The twin room has two single beds on either side, with cosy covers and plump pillows. The room has air conditioning, over-bed lamps, and some storage space. The two remaining double bedrooms also have air conditioning and a large cosy double bed. Each bedroom is in the same cool tones and tastefully furnished, meaning you will truly feel at home and be able to get a great night’s rest. Two bathrooms are also available, so queue times in the mornings are cut!
There is a newly renovated kitchen with modern, clean white and stainless steel furnishing. You will find everything you need to create meals to keep everyone full, including a large fridge and coffee maker. Meals can be enjoyed either inside or outside at Casa Tropical Mediteraneo, as there are two dining areas available downstairs by the pool and on the upper balcony overlooking the sea. Enjoy breakfast in the warm sun or dine al fresco as the sun sets across the ocean on the horizon.
Outside, guests will be pleased to see the wonderfully sized private pool available for personal use. Slipping into the cool water will provide welcome relief to warm skin after a day in Costa Tropical’s Spanish sun. Lay back, use the included sun beds, top up your tan, or read a good book. One thing is clear at Casa Tropical Mediteraneo – relaxation is incredibly easy to achieve.
The local town of La Herradura has everything you could need during your stay, with restaurants just 10 minutes walk away and the beach just 1km from your front door.

About the surrounding area of Casa Tropical MediteraneoCasa Tropical Mediteraneo resides in Costa Tropical and is a beautiful destination for holidaymakers. Residing on the Southern coast of Spain, the weather is perfect for a summer getaway or any trip where you wish to feel the sun on your skin and see the glistening ocean. The villa itself is specifically located in the picturesque urbanisation of Las Palomas. Although a residential area, the beach in La Herradura is less than 1km from your front door!
There are a number of restaurants in the local town, with the closest one just over 10 minutes walk from your front door. The restaurants offer a range of food, so take the opportunity to try traditional dishes or choose existing favourites to fuel your adventures. Should you wish to cook your meals during your stay, the supermarkets in La Herradura are a 20-minute walk from the villa, where you can stock up on ingredients and vegetables or delicious snacks to stock the cupboards.
Casa Tropical Mediteraneo has a private pool for your use during your stay. Still, there is also a large public swimming pool available in the urbanisation of Las Palomas – so you're spoilt for choice! This area also boasts a restaurant, gymnasium, and tennis court ready to be used, so active guests won't have to look far for something to do to keep them active and busy.
The area has an abundance of beautiful nature on offer, and as such, there are many different hiking areas and walking paths available for you to explore during your stay. One such route is along the Maro Cerro Gordo cliffs, a nature reserve home to a great area of flora and fauna. Take a day to explore it, and perhaps pack a picnic to stop and enjoy along the way as you overlook the ocean below.
History buffs will love to discover the rich history of La Herradura, as the bay was once a strategic port for both the Phoenicians and the Romans. Visit the La Herradura castle on the Western End of the town, an 18th Century monument built during Carlos III's reign. A little off the beaten path, this is just one of the area's incredible historical gems.

The house is spacious, and the cool tones, tiled floor and air-conditioned rooms combine to keep the home cool. Kids will be sure to spread out across the comfy sofas in the living room. Teenagers can kick back and connect to the Wi-Fi to contact friends and life back home, and little ones can be kept busy by the included TV.
The three bedrooms in Casa Tropical Mediteraneo are perfect for a family, as there are two double rooms and a twin room. Families of six or less will have more than enough room and space to rest, and the two bathrooms mean parents can claim one just for themselves!
Outside, kids of all ages are sure to be excited by the simple beauty of the view. The shimmering private pool will provide welcomed relief to sun-kissed skin or simply just some splashy fun for all. There is plenty of room and seating outside for kids to explore and play in the sun, from sun loungers by the pool to the various outdoor seating areas across the two levels.
Food options aren't short in the local town. There are several restaurants available serving many different dishes, so there is something for everyone. Older or more adventurous kids can taste local delicacies and dishes, and those less inquisitive can tuck into more familiar favourites. The local supermarkets mean plenty of snacks can be bought to fuel little legs that spend most of the day running around excited by the new area!
In the local town, there is an abundance of things to do to keep everyone busy and entertained. Teach them all the history of the town's many historical areas, including the La Herradura Castle. Stretch out restless legs by hiking along the coastal nature paths and spotting all the fascinating flora and fauna.
Take a break from the beautiful private pool to head down to the beach in La Herradura, less than 1km from the villa. Kids will adore the warm sand and turquoise waters, and it's the perfect place to let them explore and round off the holiday. The warm sand is perfect for the grandest sandcastles made by little architects. If a snorkel set is to hand, there are many colourful fish below the surface of the shimmering water just waiting to be discovered by kids of all ages.

Everything in great working order. Beautiful view from top balcony.
La Herradura is a great little resort. Very Spanish. Great restaurants and bars at good prices and really friendly staff.
Hill to the villa is 900m up from sea front. It wouldn’t put me off returning but something to be aware of. -
We all loved it!
Just returned from 10 days at Casa Tropical. Lovely area, a good 15/20 minute walk into town (uphill on the way back but we found a few short cuts!). Lots of activities available and close to Nerja and Almunecar. Being able to use the top balcony for meals was an added bonus! Amazing view!

Relaxing and peaceful
Such a relaxing and peaceful stay in a wonderful private villa! Kids loved the pool and we loved the sun loungers! The villa was so clean and perfectly furnished for holidays, with comfy beds and a well-equipped kitchen. It was so quiet too so we all slept really well. The view from the top balcony is beautiful over the ocean and although we only had the bottom part of the villa, it didn’t matter, as you can use the top too. It's a 10/15-minute walk downhill into the town with loads of lovely great cafes as restaurants and so many water sports. We hired kayaks, went sailing, and snorkelled in the bay below in the crystal clear waters. We didn’t want to leave!

Excellent
We had a nice stay here! It was large and spacious, and very clean, as in the photos. The upstairs of the villa was locked, so the space we had was based on one level on the lower ground floor, with access to a pool and nice garden which was in the sun for the majority of the day. We also had access to the balcony on the upper level which had amazing views and were able to use the table there to have meals which was a nice touch. The kitchen was well equipped enough to make meals. Rachael was very kind and helpful during our stay helping us out when needed. In general, it was a very peaceful and relaxing stay!
