Masia Pelagalls is a remarkable 16th-century estate set deep in the rural heart of El Plans de Sió, in the province of Lleida, Catalonia. Surrounded by miles of open countryside, rolling hills and farmland, this secluded property offers total tranquillity and privacy. It's a place where time slows down and the only sounds are the rustling of trees, distant church bells, and birdsong. Ideal for those seeking a genuine escape, it’s far removed from tourist hubs, yet rich in history, charm and comfort.
This atmospheric rural retreat comprises a series of interconnected historical buildings - the main farmhouse, ancient storehouses and traditional corrals - lovingly restored to create a unique and luxurious home. Masia Pelagalls is also linked to the adjacent La Torre Pelagalls, offering options for larger groups.
Inside, guests are welcomed by thick stone walls, exposed beams and rustic wooden floors. The ten bedrooms are distributed across three levels, mostly on the second floor, and each has its own personality. Highlights include ‘La Volta’ - a stunning ground floor room built into an old stone arch, and ‘The Old Kitchen’ with its fireplace, beams and characterful lounge area. Artwork and artefacts collected from around the world are blended with traditional furnishings to create spaces full of warmth, colour and soul.
Masia Pelagalls is eco-conscious, powered by solar panels, and offers thoughtful touches throughout. Living areas are varied and plentiful - a stylish modern kitchen with a vast breakfast table, a formal dining room, several cosy lounges, and a professional cinema room. There’s also a games space with table tennis, pool and table football.
Outdoors, guests can relax beside a striking hexagonal pool or dine alfresco under ancient stone arches. The property includes a gym, jacuzzi, mill wheels, and a garden with panoramic views of untouched Catalan countryside.
Steeped in history, the estate features remnants from the Spanish Civil War, including a machine gun nest and underground tunnels. The owners of this property like to decorate the Masia with things they have collected from their travels, so guests will find all sorts of treasures around the house. From the medieval tower, views stretch to the Pyrenees, Andorra, Montsec and surrounding castles.

The reception can be hosted in the garden seating up to 150 - 200 guests or inside the Masia, seating up to 50 people which can be hired in for the occasion, both ideal places for meals and dancing until midnight.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony can be set up anywhere on the Masia's grounds with capacity for up to 150 - 200 guests. An English-speaking celebrant can be recommended.
Where to Stay
Masia Pelagals sleeps up to 18 guests distributed over 9 bedrooms. There are also hotels in local villages that can accommodate even more guests and buses can be arranged as transportation to and from the wedding venue. If you have more guests, please enquire about renting La Torre Pelagalls, which is another property attached to the Masia, and can hold an extra 6 guests!
