Villa Loren is an elegant two-bedroom property surrounded by the stunning natural beauty of Slovenia’s Karst region. The villa boasts a private indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and gym, as well as a seasonal outdoor swimming pool with a sun terrace. Situated in the heart of the green Karst countryside, with rolling vineyards and verdant woodlands nearby, visitors can enjoy peaceful walking and cycling trails in the local area or exciting excursions to cultural highlights within easy driving distance.

The open plan living space on Villa Loren’s ground floor is cosy and inviting, with a lounge area featuring a flatscreen TV. The casual dining area provides the perfect place for everyone to gather together and discuss the day’s adventures over a delicious meal and a glass of local wine. Natural wood finishes and high ceilings with rustic exposed beams create a warm, relaxed ambience in the well-equipped kitchen, featuring a modern breakfast bar and everything you might need to cook up a feast with the local produce you have discovered.

As well as a stylish bathroom featuring a bathtub, there is another separate lounge area on the ground floor, where you can spend a few hours on the comfortable sofa, reading and relaxing in peace and quiet.

Upstairs, Villa Loren’s spacious master suite features a double bed, a private seating area and a modern en-suite bathroom. A second double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom is also located on the first floor. Both bedrooms boast relaxed, understated furnishings and charming vaulted ceilings. Underfloor heating throughout the villa provides an added touch of luxury.

The villa’s basement has been thoughtfully designed to provide guests with a soothing space in which to relax and exercise. Begin each day with an invigorating swim in the heated indoor pool, featuring a wave function and a glass-panelled ceiling overhead which provides plenty of natural light. After a day of hiking in the hills or a visit to the fairytale city of Ljubljana, unwind in Villa Loren’s Finnish sauna or spend some time relaxing in the large jacuzzi. A compact gym is also available, with modern equipment and a flatscreen TV.

Outside, a seasonal swimming pool provides a sun-soaked spot to enjoy during the warmer months. Secluded by lush green trees, guests can relax on the terrace or under the shade of the pretty poolside gazebo. The outdoor space also features a barbecue grill and a games area.

What you should know…

  • The indoor pool at Villa Loren is heated and perfect for swimming in all seasons. The seasonal outdoor pool has a gradual slope leading to a deep end. Young children should not be left unsupervised near either swimming pool.
  • A tiny house is also located on the grounds of Villa Loren and may be booked by guests on occasion. Situated beside the outdoor pool, this house shares the facilities located on the outside grounds.
  • The villa features two double bedrooms and one sofa bed which can accommodate two additional guests if required.

Villa Loren is the ideal place to relax and unwind in style whilst immersing yourself in the wondrous natural beauty of Slovenia's Karst and Mediterranean region. Close to the border with neighbouring Italy, the Karst region is known for its supreme air quality, excellent gastronomy and intriguing blend of cultures and traditions, giving visitors a chance to witness a sustainable and nourishing way of life, where the land provides a rich link with the country's history. Here, you can board the train and take in the sights of this amazing subterranean wonder whilst travelling along the oldest cave railway in the world. Located nearby, Predjama Castle is an impressive Rennaissance structure built into the mouth of a cave on a dramatic cliffside. The limestone system of the Škocjan Caves is another awe-inspiring attraction that includes one of the world's largest known underground river canyons, making it a well-deserved UNESCO World Heritage site.

For many visitors to this diverse region, the sparkling waters of the nearby Adriatic Sea beckon. However, should you wish to wander further afield, the magical landscapes of the Karst region are sure to capture the imaginations of the whole family.

For a day in the countryside, visit the fairytale Lipica Stud Farm, only a twenty-minute drive away. With gorgeous green pastures and stunning white horses, the estate arranges programmes specifically for families, including educational activities and guided pony rides for children. On some occasions, children are taken out to the pastures to see the majestic Lipizzan horses and foals up close. There is also the opportunity to see a live show at the stud farm, where you can watch the horses train in the riding ground, accompanied by music. Everyone will truly appreciate the beauty and grace of these amazing creatures after a day spent exploring the stud farm.

For water babies, the Adriatic coastline offers a seemingly endless array of safe and well-maintained beaches to discover. Pack a picnic and spend the day at Sistiana Bay, where everyone can dip in and out of the beautiful blue waters and relax on the white sands. For those seeking a little more adventure, try sea kayaking or stand-up paddleboarding in Koper’s exciting watersports centre.

Later, make your way to Trieste’s Barcola promenade, where the whole family can walk to the dazzling Miramare Castle, stopping off for pizza or some delicious gelato along the way. Trieste’s city centre is also well worth a visit, thanks to its excellent museums, vibrant squares and pastry shops on every corner.

Slovenia’s emerald River Soča is another incredible place for the family to visit on a day trip, with Soča Fun Park a forty-minute drive away. There are memorable hiking trails and a feast of water-based activities around the Soča Valley, with dozens of agencies offering a range of activities with enthusiastic and experienced guides. This is a wonderful place to feel close to nature while having a great time outside in the fresh air.
Boarding the underground train at the magical Postojna Cave Park will mark the beginning of an exciting adventure that the whole family will remember, with hidden passages and plenty of twists and turns. Learn about prehistoric animals at the park’s Vivarium and marvel at the cave’s never-ending stalactites and stalagmites, before making your way up to the surface to enter the land of medieval knights at Predjama Castle. Make sure to wear comfortable and warm clothing on your travels below the ground!

Visitors of all ages will be charmed by the welcoming villages and enchanting countryside of the Karst region. By the time you make your way home to cosy Villa Loren, younger visitors will be ready to sleep soundly after another day of fresh air and adventure.

End of stay cleaning included? Extra €80, paid locally. However, guests are required to leave the accommodation clean, tidy and in the same condition as on their arrival. Any extra cleaning, laundry, maintenance and/or garbage disposal required will be charged against the security deposit.
Internet access? Complimentary Wi-Fi internet access is included in rental price. It is good to note that the speed is dependent on the local provider and technical issues may cause reduced speed or cut of service.
