Vistas Parus is blessed with stunning glass architecture and a chic yet slightful bohemian feel. You cannot help but relax the instant you walk through the door. As you stride barefoot across the cool concrete floors admiring Vista Parus’ striking, minimalist interior design, the outdoor space feels at one with the interior. Massive picture windows and floor-to-ceiling doors fully integrate the natural environment outside.

Vistas Parus enjoys a fabulous location between the sensational Praia de Carvalhal and Praia dos Brejos sandy beaches. With fine golden sand, gorgeous dunes and surrounding fragrant pine forests, you cannot beat this wonderful Comporta location. The hippy-chic Herdade da Comporta is comprised of seven tranquil villages including Carvalhal, Comporta, Brejos da Carregueira, Carrasqueira, Possanco, Muda and Sol Troia plus the wonderful towns of Troia, Grandola and Alcacer do Sal are nearby. The region is known for its surf, wild beaches, watersports, hiking and fabulous beach restaurants. The nearest village to Vistas Parus is the utterly charming Carvalhal. Like many of the villages, Carvalhal is surrounded by enchanting rice fields that change the colours of the landscape according to the seasons.

With four bedrooms, including one special children’s room, Vistas Parus sleeps up to ten guests. The living space is open plan in design with all areas enjoying gorgeous garden and countryside views. With amazing vaulted ceilings and so much glass the living space feels cavernous with a wonderful sense of space. Its neutral decor enjoys splashes of vibrant colour that are applied with artistic flair. The living area boasts sumptuous sofas and chairs where guests can relax, mesmerised by the special views of the garden, swimming pool and the pine forest beyond. Huge doors open to the terrace and garden. Tucked around the corner is the stunning kitchen and dining area. The glossy white kitchen sits at one end with excellent appliances and a sociable breakfast bar with stools. Next to the kitchen is a large dining table with colourful chairs. These look out to the garden and doors open to an alfresco dining terrace and outdoor kitchen area.

The four bedrooms of Vistas Parus are wonderfully spacious with very high ceilings, especially those with vaulted ceilings. Exquisite linens decorate the beds and each bedroom enjoys a fabulous, stylish ensuite bathroom. Two of the rooms enjoy kingsize beds, another offers twins and the children’s bedroom boasts twin beds plus a set of bunk beds. What a fun room for siblings, cousins or friends to share. The bathrooms are amazing with walk-in showers or giant baths. They are sleek and super cool, again featuring polished concrete.

The garden is an absolute delight with beautiful Parus birds joining you for an early chorus. These lovely birds enjoy eating the berries in the garden. The outdoor terrace and garden is very private and enjoys a large 10m x 4m swimming pool and a gorgeous wooden deck where you can relax on loungers or cushions. Alfresco dining under the stars can be enjoyed using the barbecue kitchen. There is also a delightful alfresco lounge area under a pergola where you can enjoy some dappled shade, the beautiful scenery and delicious cocktails.

The charming town of Comporta is located at the base of the Troia peninsula and at the side of the Sado estuary. With a history going back to the Roman Empire, Comporta is still a hive of agricultural production with rice fields and vineyards producing some fine white, red and rose wines. Golfers love Comporta. Its fabulous Comporta Dunes course was designed by David McLay Kidd within a stunning terrain of pine forest and sand dunes close to Pego beach and Comporta Links is under construction. THE REGION

Comporta is surrounded by rice paddies, the ocean, sand dunes and pine forests. It's a unique place where you can connect with nature and live in the moment. Comporta has a rhythm and an ambience that are all it's own. This wild and unspoilt part of Portugal attracts an in-the-know international crowd, including renowned artists, designers, and A-listers.

Comporta has a remarkable diversity of natural systems with long stretches of beach, windswept dunes, scenic pine forests, salt marshes and rice paddies which become a vibrant green in June. The region is also characterized by rice fields and its main attraction, the Comporta beach: 20 kilometres of uninterrupted white sand, a beach lover’s paradise.

As with the rest of Portugal, you can expect sun-blessed weather year-round in Comporta. The best months of the year to visit Comporta for long beach stays are from June to September, while the spring and autumn months are still suitable for picnics or day trips.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST

The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.

The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.

But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!

Vistas Parus is ideal for a family holiday. Surrounded by nature, the villa is spacious and beautiful with a gorgeous garden and a fabulous pool. One of the bedrooms is perfect for children with twin beds and a bunk bed. The stunning Comporta beaches are within minutes of the villa.

Comporta is a wonderful destination for families that love the outdoors. There are watersports galore and amazing boat trips from the Troia marina to watch dolphins, to enjoy sensational sunsets and to explore this stunning coastline. There is so much wildlife including beautiful flamingos and tall storks. There are several surf schools at the beaches with friendly teachers. Horse riding is popular through the company Cavalos na Areia. Children can ride through the rice fields or along the beach, all the nicer at sunset. Kayaking through the rice fields of Comporta is another wonderful treat. The Vala Real is the main water channel and there are many animals to watch along the banks. Tours can be arranged through Cavalos na Areia.

Children love taking the ferry or catamaran over to Setubal, possibly seeing dolphins on the trip. While in Troia there are many beautiful walking trails with lovely views. The marina is very buzzy.

Children love visiting Lisbon with its many family friendly attractions. The Portuguese have a very family-focused culture so young children are welcome everywhere. The Oceanarium was opened in 1998 in the Parque das Nacoes. It boasts a huge collection of marine species including penguins, seagulls, sea otters, sharks, rays, chimaeras, sea horses, starfish, sea urchins, corals, sea anemones, crustacians, octopuses, jelly fish and much more. Lisbon Zoo is popular with sumatran tigers, lions, giraffes, dolphins, birds, pelicans, reptiles and elephants. There is a children’s petting and feeding farm and a fun cable car. On a rainy day KidZania is a child-sized city where children can play at being grown-ups trying out different occupations earning money to spend in the supermarket, renting a car or treating themselves to a haircut. Lisbon is famously built on seven hills which give wonderful views. The number 28 tram makes thrillingly steep ascents and descents as it passes through the different neighbourhoods and past historic sights such as the Cathedral and Basilica de Estrela.
