Choosing this amazing villa situated in the heart of Quinta da Marinha golf club suggests golf is a major part of your holiday, this fabulous course designed by the legendry Robert Trent Jones offers fantastic views over the Atlantic Ocean and the Sintra mountains. His trademark elevated greens and tees, many bunkers and water hazards suit the natural landscape perfectly. The 19th hole is the perfect way to finish off your round, the clubhouse overlooking the big lakes of the final hole. The superb Oitavos Dunes course is also a must, a stunning links course built into the natural surroundings with the utmost sensitivity is ranked amongst the very best in the world. The choice of courses in this region is such that you could play a different course every day of your stay.
On a day off from golf or for non golfing partners the magnificent sports centre offers an amazing swimming pool, tennis court or you could try Padel (it’s a bit like tennis) which is very popular here.
The Cascais area is a wonderful place to choose for a much needed break, you have the sand dunes and white sands of the surfers paradise that is Guincho Beach, perhaps the beach at Cresmina below the 17th century fortress would be more suitable for families as the waves aren’t quite so strong. The charming fairy tale village of Sintra with its extravagant palaces and ancient castles perched high on the hills within the Sintra-Cascais National Park. The Cascais of today is a fusion of its noble past and the success of its tourist and golfing attractions. Once upon a time it was small fishing town, then it became the holiday destination for the royal family and subsequently the rich and famous. It still retains a lot of its old fishing village charms despite its 15th century fort having been converted into a hotel. Enjoy the small, cobbled streets, beautiful buildings with pastel coloured walls and some of the country’s famous azuljos.
The beaches around Cascais are beautiful and varied, like golf courses you could visit a different one each day. A walk or cycle along the promenade from Cascais to Estoril, is amazing, the beach here doesn’t catch the wind quite so much so is perfect for a sunbathing swimming day and the options to stop at a café are many. Two of the biggest attractions of Estoril after the beach, is the motor racing track which sadly is no longer part of the F1 circuit but still hosts events and the amazing sea front Casino, amazing to look at even if you don’t want to play at the tables. Eating out here in Cascais is delightful, the many cafes and restaurants catering for all tastes and appetites buzz in the evenings as visitors and locals alike relax at the end of the day.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST
The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.
The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.
But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas on Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
