Villa Golf and Sea is a very spacious villa inside the impressive Aroeira Golf Resort which is located in a wonderful nature reserve, 25km from Lisbon, on the Lisbon Coast. The villa is situated within delightful gardens, 900 metres from the beach. Golfers will be delighted to be staying on this huge golf resort with its two championship courses. Aroeira is the largest golf resort in the Lisbon region with 350 hectares and 13 beautiful lakes. Villa Golf and Sea enjoys five very spacious bedrooms sleeping 10 guests in modern comfort.
Surrounded by majestic, fragrant pine trees and stunning blue lakes, Aroeira Golf Resort boasts two courses, the Aroeira Pine Classic and the Aroeira Challenge, designed by some of Europe’s greatest architects. They have played host to a number of European Tour events including the Portuguese Open surrounded by beautiful scenery on the Costa Azul. There are some good facilities in the resort including a clubhouse which overlooks the Aroeira Pines Classic course, four tennis courts, golf practice facilities, a large outdoor swimming pool and a shop. Golf professionals are available to help you improve your game. The resort is very peaceful and offers a concierge service and full security. The resort is 1.6 miles from the gorgeous Fonte de Telha Beach and 4.9 miles from the fabulous town of Sesimbre.
Villa Golf and Sea is perfect for families and friends wanting to relax and enjoy, not only the golf, but the wonderful beaches of this fabulous coastline. All of the rooms are very generous in size with the living space being one huge open plan room. The living room enjoys two separate lounge areas, a central woodburning fire and a piano where guests can tickle the ivories. It also boasts a games section with a professional snooker table. The villa’s kitchen offers plenty of modern wooden cabinets and a good range of appliances.
The villa boasts five bedrooms and three bathrooms, one of which is an ensuite to the master bedroom. Three of the bedrooms enjoy double beds and the remaining two offer twin beds. Like the living room, the furniture is a mix of traditional and modern. There are two family bathrooms, both with baths and one being a large, corner jacuzzi bath. It is lovely having a soak after an afternoon strolling the fairways.
The garden is an absolute delight with lush lawns, mature planting in the beds and a wonderful, sizeable swimming pool. Loungers surround the pool where you can enjoy your holiday read. Guests can enjoy shaded alfresco dining using the villa’s built-in barbecue. Children can happily play in the children’s playground area with a playhouse and slide. About the surrounding area of Villa Golf and SeaVilla Golf and Sea is located on the vast Aroeira Golf Resort, close to Setubal on the Lisbon Coast. It is 25km from the vibrant capital and close to Sesimbre, the Parc Natural de Arrabida and Portinho Arrabida. It is an easy journey to visit the west coast Costa da Caparica beaches.
The delightful Setubal offers a picturesque, colourful harbour and a very pretty waterfront. Its Manueline monastery, beautiful ancient churches, acclaimed market and its interesting museums are always busy with tourists. Sebutal is at the heart of the Portuguese sardine industry and also famed for its delicious, sweet and globally acclaimed moscatel wine. You must try them!
The enchanting city of Sesimbra is very Portuguese, retaining its original character and heritage. It is famous for its freshly cooked seafood and its breathtaking coastline. The fish markets are amazing events and the family run Marisqueira restaurants are atmospheric and very friendly. There are wonderful, panoramic views from the battlements of the Castelo de Sesimbra of the stunning beach which extends around the entire Sesimbra bay . You can explore the wonderful coastline by kayak, boat tour or dolphin watch tour. The Cabo Espichel, a wild and exposed cliff headland, boasts incredible views, a unique church, lighthouse and two sets of dinosaur footprints. The headland was once an important pilgrimage destination.
On the west Lisbon Coast, Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira is a fabulous beach with a lagoon where you can enjoy warmer, calmer water and paddleboarding. The sea waves are perfect for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The panoramic views are sensational and the walks wonderful. Praia do Meco is another breathtaking beach within the Serra da Arrabida National Park where you will find many hiking and biking trails. There is a nudist section of the beach though this is easily avoided. The beach is backed with cliffs and pine forest and has a lovely beach bar. There is often something going on and the beach is home to an annual frisbee competition. Aldeia do Meco is a tiny village, famous for its seafood restaurants, the unspoilt sweep of golden sand and its mesmerising sunsets. A surfers favourite, Biscas beach is challenging and beautiful. Portinho da Arrabida Beach, not far from the villa, and Galappinhos Beach are also worth a visit. The pretty village of Alfarim offers a good range of shops, a bakery, butcher, bank, supermarkets and cafes.
Villa Golf and Sea is also within easy distance of the ultra-fashionable, cosmopolitan city of Lisbon. Seven panoramic hillsides overlook the Rio Tejo and cradle this wonderful city. Lisbon’s pretty azulejos, Instagrammable old fashioned trams, fantastic restaurants and bars, iconic markets and its narrow, cobbled streets of the wonderful Alfama district make it a very popular destination. The iconic flea market Feira da Ladra is wonderful for a Sunday morning wander. The Time Out Market is popular for food and drink and the gorgeous Mercado da Ribeira building has a variety of pop-up restaurants. Belem can be reached by tram or train and is famous for its stunning monastery, botanic gardens and delicious pastis de nata.The Berado Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Belem Cultural Centre is worth a visit.

THE REGION
Only 25 km from Lisbon, located in a protected pine woodland and close to the coastal town of Caparica, Aroeira is a unique estate comprising two golf courses. Aroeira offers golfers the perfect combination of a championship course set amidst exuberant natural surroundings.
The closest beach from Aroeira is Fonte de Telha. It is a pretty good spot for Surfers, and you will also find several choices of beach bars and restaurants to go to. The beach also offers free showers located right at the entrance near the main path in front of the parking spaces and the mini market.

Best Suited For: All AgesVilla Golf and Sea is ideal for a family holiday. There is a wonderful garden with a delightful swimming pool, plenty of lawns for games and a special children’s area with a playhouse and slide. The resort offers, not just golf, but tennis, swimming and plenty of hiking and cycling paths. The nearest beach is 900 metres from the villa, with plenty of others just moments away. On the west coast, Praia da Lagoa de Albufeira is wonderful with watersports on offer on the lagoon and in the sea. Depending on the tide you can sometimes float down to the lagoon from the beach. Praia do Meco, Bicas Beach, Praia da California, Praia dos Galapinhos, Portinho de Arrbida, Praia do Creiro and the beach at Sesimbra are all very popular. Sao Joao beach has lovely restaurants, parking and also a zipline centre and bouncy castle.
The Sesimbra area offers some of the highest limestone cliffs in Europe. There are incredible rock formations and stunning little bays. It is a wonderful place to take a kayaking tour to discover this fabulous coastline. Visitors can explore the caves and passages as well as enjoying the underwater life. If you are brave enough and old enough you can also book a Coasterring Vertente Natural tour where you will progress along the coastline scrambling, swimming, climbing, rappelling, ziplining and cliff jumping into the water. It is thrilling and challenging but not suitable for the young ones! Teenagers will be in heaven!
Horse lovers enjoy the horse riding schools of Centro Hipico do Convento de Sao Domingos, Azeitao, Centro Gipico Granja Paraiso, Sesimbra and Central Hipico Quinta do Picao, Azeitao. Children and their parents can trek through pine forests and onto the beach.
Lisbon is very welcoming to families. Lisbon Zoo offers dolphin and sea lion shows, a reptile house, snake house, aviaries and a petting farm. It has an amusement park side of the zoo, called Animax, which is just outside the main zoo so visitors can enter without buying a zoo ticket. Lisbon’s Oceanarium is renowned and is comprised of four sections with a huge collection of marine species such as penguins, sea otters, sharks, rays, chimaeras, sea horses, starfish, sea urchins, octopuses, jelly fish and many more. You can buy an all-day ticket for unlimited tram, bus and metro rides in Lisbon which includes all of the pretty funiculars and the Elevador de Santa Justa Lift. The Parque das Nacoes district has a cable car that runs the length of the park, interactive outdoor features and bike hire. The Pavilion of Knowledge is an interactive science/technology museum which is great fun as well as being educational.

We had a great stay
We had a great stay, and the host was always very courteous and accommodating, especially in their help in providing a cot and a high chair for our kid. The house was clean and very spacious with a nice outdoor area with a pool, and nice indoor area to relax with a TV and pool table, ample parking etc. The place was also fully air-conditioned which was great, and great for 9 people. it's a great place to stay if you want to be close to Lisbon, but sufficiently far out to avoid the hectic city life.
