Just 15 kilometres from the centre of Lisbon, Casa Joia is a fantastic villa for a family or friends celebration. With 9 stunning bedrooms Casa Joia can sleep up to 20 guests, all in extreme comfort. This is a brand new, contemporary villa offering a huge amount of space, luxury fittings and a fabulous garden, pool and terrace. Casa Joia is located in Botequim, a residential area in the Lisbon outskirts, 2.3km to the stunning Mata beach and less than 5km to Costa da Caparica, a lively and modern resort that is adored by the Portuguese but virtually unknown by tourists.
The coastline is stunning and is famed for its vast sandy beaches, powerful surfing seas and spectacular natural scenery. There are dozens of beaches on a long strip of glistening white sand so if you want to party, sunbathe in peace, surf the beach breaks or strip down to your birthday suit, there is definitely a beach for you! By day, colourful fishing boats are hauled onto the beaches to sell their fresh catches in the local fish market and by night, the same beaches play host to super cool beach parties. The outside spaces at Casa Joai are wonderful. The huge 10m x 10m heated swimming pool is surrounded with 20 sun loungers, a terrace, an extensive lawn and alfresco dining for 20. There is a volleyball net, a basketball hoop and a barbecue. The roof top terrace is also wonderful with outdoor lounge furniture.
The interior of the villa is quite minimalist in design though there are some intricate ceilings that catch your eye. On the ground floor there is a light and airy living room with plenty of sofas and chairs, an open plan dining and reading room, a modern, sleek, fully-fitted kitchen, one of the twin bedrooms and a bathroom as well as another toilet. On the first floor there is a fabulous games room with a pool table, table tennis, table football and lounge furniture, 2 delightful bedroom suites with king-size beds and dazzling, pristine en-suite bathrooms, 3 twin bedrooms and another bedroom with 2 sets of bunk beds and 2 further immaculate bathrooms. There is access to the balcony from the games room. On the second floor there are another 2 twin bedrooms with direct access to the outstanding roof terrace and another bathroom.
Casa Joia is extremely comfortable with top quality furnishings. All of the twin beds can be put together as large doubles.

The Costa da Caparica coastline extends along the western edge of the Sebetal Peninsula for 30km. The resort town is at the northern edge of the beach. The southern sections are wilder and very natural. They can only be reached by car or the summer mini-train. The mini train runs beside the ocean and makes 19 stops, each at a different beach. The lower third of the coastline is within the Arriba Fossil da Costa nature reserve so the pristine beaches are protected from major development. The Fonte da Telha section is 10km south of the main resort and is walled by a continous stretch of golden cliffs, topped with pine and eucalyptus trees. It is famous for its healing clay muds so you might see people covering themselves in mud. Praia 19, just north of Fonte da Telha, is the top gay beach in the Lisbon area. The beaches are popular for surfing though if you want massive rollers you should head to the the Praia de Guincho on the Sintra coastline.
Capuchos Convent was built in the 16th century and belongs to the city of Almada. It is used for exhibitions and cultural shows. Having admired the interior and the gardens, you can walk for 350 metres to discover the Capuchos viewpoint. You can admire the whole city, the ocean, Serra da Arrabida Natural Park and Cape Espichel.
The stunning, cosmopolitan, atmospheric capital of Lisbon is just 15 minutes away by car, traffic-permitting or 30 minutes by bus. Otherwise from Cacilhas you can take the ferry across the estuary to Cais do Sodre. Lisbon is one of the most charismatic and vibrant cities in Europe, effortlessly blending rich traditional heritage with striking modernism. It boasts a buzzing nightlife and is blessed with a glorious year-round climate. The Time Out Market is popular for a food and drink stop and the beautiful Mercado da Ribeira building has pop-up restaurants. The districts of Baixa, Chiado, Bairro Alto, Alfama and Avenida da Liberdale are all close to the main sights and attractions. The Belem district is a must see with its famous Pasteis de Belem pastry shop, the 16th century Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, Belem Palace and the tropical botanical gardens. The Berado Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art at the Belem Cultural Centre is also worth a visit.
Other popular day trips from Casa Joia are to Sesimbra, Setubal or hiking around the Arriba Fossil da Costa coastline.

ABOUT THE LISBON COAST
The Lisbon Coast is a sensational stretch of golden beaches, wave-lashed cliffs and vibrant seaside towns – but there's more to the Atlantic coastline than that. Delve beneath the surface to discover hidden coves, family-owned seafood restaurants and pristine natural parks.
The coast around Lisbon provides an easy, breezy escape from the capital, whose proximity has made it the stomping ground of kings for the last 1,000 years. In summer, Lisboistas stream into elegant Comporta and Cascais to escape the heat of the city; year-round, surfers hang loose on the coast, waiting for the rollers to crash down on the sand.
But while you're enjoying one of our fantastic villas in Lisbon Coast, you may well want to take some time out from all that sun worship to explore everything else the region has to offer – so we've put together this handy travel guide to give you a little help and inspiration!
