Douro Escape House is set in Ribadouro, a peaceful village on the banks of the Douro River. The surrounding landscape is shaped by terraced vineyards and quiet rural roads, ideal for walks, wine tasting and slow-paced exploring.

This part of the Douro Valley is known for its port wine estates, many of which offer tours and tastings just a short drive away. Boat trips down the Douro river from nearby piers offer a different view of the region, winding past riverside hills and farms.

Local towns like Baião and Peso da Régua provide shops, markets and places to eat, while Porto is around 75 km west - close enough for a day trip if you want a mix of countryside and city.
